  1. 5/5Active developers but still minor issues.

Every once in a while there will be an adding error in the 8th, 9th or 10th frame where it will give you a wrong total score on manually added games. The only way to fix it is to edit a frame and make it look like you left more pins than you did. I have a screenshot of an example if the devs want me to email it. This has happened since the day I downloaded it all the way through current version. I know it will be fixed soon but it is frustrating for now. Still working on getting my house to set up LaneTalk with their system, which would eliminate this problem I’m experiencing, they just explain it’s a difficult process but something they would like to do. Overall, I love the app. Feature request; a button or some place I could see max possible score on the app.

  2. 1/5Was Great…no longer so.

Used the app for about 9 months and was just starting to like it enough to consider subscribing, when something happened. Almost everything was moved into a pay tier. Now having worked with software vendors for decades I decided I am not playing that game this time. If a feature was free and they move it into a pay tier they will do it again. I do not feel like being on the hook for monthly subscriptions only to find out what I was using now costs more. I read some reviews and apparently this has been done by Lanetalk in the past, so it only confirms my suspicions. I was at league tonight and someone was using it and I told them I had deleted my app and I used to love it and he said they reversed the decision and opened it back up as it was before. Apparently this is not the case as I just reinstalled it and it is slightly better than when I removed it the first time but still most features are behind a paywall. I will not be sucked into using an app then my data held hostage for money down the road for a new tier to pop up. It was fun while it lasted. I will be deleting it again after this review is posted. Thanks.

  3. 3/5Burning the money tree

Do you wanna know how you ruin a great app and throw away some money? Follow these guys cause they’re doing it well. I love most of this apps features is the reason I paid for the best subscription. This whole year has been great. Then I started to notice the last few months lot of people aren’t on it any more. Come to find out they have taken away about everything there is for the free service. They wanna make more money and get it but you gotta give them something that will get people a reason to use it. Then I find out tonight that the bowling alleys are supposed to pay them a monthly fee to be a part of it. I believe it should be the other way around. what incentive does the bowling alley have for paying Lanetalk for the service? I see a bunch of incentive for lane talk to pay the bowling alleys. If I was the bowling alley, I wouldn’t give a single red scent to lane talk. I’ve been trying to decide if I was going to let them charge me for another year subscription but Im thinking that no I’m not going to. good luck lane talk your going to need it the way you have been going. I have to redact a portion of my review. It was brought to my attention that lane talk does not charge the bowling center a fee. It’s the programmer that charges them. My mistake I apologize. Although I still stand by my opinion that Lanetalk has raped the free version of the app and it is a fact that there has been a substantial amount of people that are no longer appearing on the rankings lists. Which in turn takes a lot away from the app’s appeal. I might renew my subscription later but for now I’m not feeling all that interested being on it by myself. Which is the way it has felt lately.

  4. 3/5It’s ok, but stats are lacking

Been using this for this season, the experience so far has been a solid “meh”. The plus bit finds my center and the automatic tracking is good, but the whole user experience is just off. Confusing to add leagues, or your specific league, those are tags, which took a lot of playing with the app to figure out. PinPal does this much better. Stats and filtering stats is clunky, and the stats provided are pretty limited. What’s my first game average? Well to figure that out I would need to add a 1st game tag to every first game and then filter on it. Same for 2nd, 3rd… nth game. How many clean games do I have? I suppose that’s another custom tag I would have to do. How many 10 pins did I leave vs picked up? They give you some of that data, left and percent converted, but to figure out how many you missed, that’s math you have to do. PinPal kills this on stats. Honestly, for the price, this feels unfinished and very Minimum Viable Product. Kinda with I’d just stayed with PinPal

  5. 2/5New Update made me Sad

If you asked me to rate the app last week I would have given it 5 stars. I loved the fact that Lanetalk’s free version allowed you to track your games. But I also have friends who use the paid version and I thought that those amenities were awesome. When I first started out it was nice to see my improvements and get high fives on my games. The update took this away and put it on the pay side which honestly means that the app lost a user with me. I am a league bowler but I’m not great. As I become more technical and a better bowler I saw more value in the paid version and thought about doing the upgrade and converting to see stats and make challenges but now I have a bad taste like the developers just wanted more monthly subscribers so they took away the one thing that people of all skill ranges enjoyed. I really hope that it changes back but I just deleted the app because I won’t need it in the future as is. I hope it doesn’t deter other users but for now you lost an app user because unless I get the paid version it does not provide me with anything I can use.

was great.. I was ok with the pay part.. then they went way up in price... had to delete it.. not worth the money... disappointing.. was fun to use.. hopefully a competitor will come out with an app that is reasonably priced...

  2. 1/5

used to be good, then they got greedy and locked everything behind a paywall. Demand payment from bowling centers for the bowling alley to give them the data.

Scam Up Front... 1 month free trial means 0 month free. that alone led to uninstall and I'll do a charge back when I call my bank. how devious.
