   Excellent navigation, comparable to Google Maps as far as I can tell, doesn’t steer you wrong, and loaded with points of interest to help you find your destination. I use it whenever I don’t have cellular service and Google Maps leaves me stranded. However, Favorites cannot be sorted by distance, which is very inconvenient when you have to painstakingly read through your long list of favorites, of which many of mine are 5000 miles away, to find the one you want. I don’t always remember the name of my favorite, but sorting by distance makes them easy to find in Google Maps. I’m hard pressed to compare with Sygic, except to say that I have tried both and settled on Karta.

   This GPS app is descent not great. Basically it an offline gps app that allows the user to use gps without internet connection which is super. Couple things that I found out with the app. First is that it can’t correctly find the location and it can’t give you a accurate exit routes. The display in the app to where your doing does not display the exit on the highway, which is super important if your traveling and need to know the exit, not hating but it can help. Second thing I’ve noticed is that the app can’t show the places that are nearby to stop. Example, say I’m driving and I noticed a place I want to go to but don’t physically want to go inside, I would appreciate it if I could simply click on the place & check important information about the place. Last I definitely would like to see a upgrade to traffic around the area. What I mean is to see if any road blocks, construction or high traffic. There is some good things about the app that I like and I really would like to everyone that worked on it. Also side note give me better suggestions and places to avoid.

3. 1/5So much potential but....

   So I really loved the look and feel of this app when I downloaded it, so based on how it appeared, I spent a whole bunch of money subscribing to traffic and speed cameras and every other option available including buying some voices etc. Big mistake, I did all this assuming that as a navigation app, it would do a good job at that, but it routinely fails that test. Almost without exception I can enter same start and destination in Karta and then 3 or 4 other apps, most using OSM maps, and they will usually all give the same optimum route, but not Karta. In fact I don’t know that it has ever suggested the same route as the other apps. Just today, it wanted me to get off the highway and instead of taking the loop exit to go west, it wanted me to take the east exit and do a U-Turn! I have tried sending examples to technical support but honestly a navigation app has to be good at that before anything else can really matter. If they get that right, this is a winner, I think it is the best overall product for appearance, features etc except for the routing issues, so I hope they figure out their algorithm problems.

4. 5/5Amazingly inexpensive

   I came over this way from Sygic. Sygic has some stability issues and occasionally crashes. Karta seems to echo the simplicity of Apple and Google maps lane guidance. Sygic’s “dynamic” lane guidance is spotty and glitchy. Sygic s features will be innovative once they fix the stability issues but for now it’s annoying. So far karta has no stability issues, lots of fun features, and a beautiful map display. Most importantly, the directions and traffic are accurate and easy to read. Think I found my new goto. You can’t beat the prices and achieve this quality and convenience there are some awesome options that are cheaper but they won’t look as polished and the map data is so precise you’ll never find your location unless you type it exactly as it was written in OSM. This is by and far the cheapest and most convenient package

5. 1/5Poor OpenStreetMap-based navigation app

   Karta GPS has so much potential and looks pretty on its face. But when you actually try to use it you realize their OpenStreetMap data is wayyyyy outdated (like over a year) and navigation instruction is poor in many locations. When you contact support they respond to you and say they will work on the error and it will show up in the next maps data update, but that update never happens. As it sits, this app hasn’t been updated in 6 months. And even the problems I reported over 6 months ago have not been fixed in the last update. I get the impression this is a very low budget service and they can’t pay anyone to do the basic business of keeping the app running. If you’re looking for a good offline maps GPS app, you’re better off checking out Magic Earth or Here Maps. Neither of those are perfect, but at least they keep their maps and app updated and get you where you need to go.

   utter scam, do not install this app I purchased the app and it said "we will never show any ads anymore". Now it gives me a long list of consents checks to use my personal data for personalised ads. absolutely disgraceful.
