5/5Great app, kept me motivated til the end!
I’ve used Couch to 5K in the past and the Just Run app was a great free journey as I (yet again) get back into running. I liked that the challenges were time focused, rather than distance focused. I built up to the “Just Run” workouts with a couple months of just walking and tracking my daily steps (with Fitbit + StepBet apps). So gradually working short runs into that routine felt very doable. Because the weekly/daily challenges were challenging without feeling impossible, I also left each work out with a huge sense of accomplishment. That’s not to say that I was able to complete every workout, so don’t feel discouraged if some days you feel stronger than others. This app helped me focus on the bigger picture and celebrate a string of wins, accumulating over time, rather than beat myself up when my body was dragging. I highly recommend this app to anyone interested in easing their way back into running. I completed my 2nd to last workout tonight, running 30 full minutes nonstop! I can’t believe that I was able to get here from just incremental bumps each week. I remember a time not so long ago when 10 minutes felt impossible. Thanks, Just Run app, for helping me to challenge and push myself to a fitter version of me. Signed up to complete my first 5K since 2018 in October. I can’t wait to begin the 5 to 10k journey!

5/5Best Couch to 5k App Out There!
I’ve tried (and paid) for a few other C25k apps and while they worked for me at first, over time they got bloated with features I didn’t need or converted to subscription models. I was looking for a barebones training plan that can cue me to run and walk when I needed to as I worked through the program, and JustRun is IT! I used the free version of the app for a few weeks and ended up paying for Premium, not because the app is lacking without the premium features, but because I wanted to thank and support the dev for creating such a useful app! My favorite (free!) feature is that each run has a recommended scheduled date based on when you completed your last run, and if you “miss” a day or need to push things out by a day or two, the program auto-updates these recommended dates. This reduced a lot of the friction from feeling like I was “behind” or not meeting my goal, and I’ve been able to stick with the program for over three weeks now. I’ve never been so motivated to work towards a 5k before, and I know if I ever have to take a break or life gets in the way, JustRun will be right there to help me get back on track.

5/5Came here from C25K
I came here after finding out C25K started charging a subscription. I am getting back into running again and the app used to be free. This app is simple, to the point, and a great running companion. Because it’s completely free it’s better than C25K. I went ahead and bought the premium to support the developer. Offering extra features that are not necessary but cool to have or a fun upgrade is the way to go. This model makes people want to support an app that they love when they can. This is the same type of model for my favorite phone game Shop Titians uses. I don’t have to spend money and can play the entire game and not loose out at all. I pay for the subscription and an occasional mega pack because I love the game and find value in it. However, sometimes I have to cancel the subscription, but that does not affect gameplay at all. There are also no ads. The game advertises its own products like this app does. I can see this app growing a large and loving health oriented community as long as it sticks to a model something like this. I love what the the developer is doing here! I will be recommending this app!

5/5Gives me just what I need.
I’ve been looking for a free app that will get me started on my journey again. Two years ago I went from being a non-runner to a person who hit the trail three times a week doing about 2 miles each time, which is incredible for me. I’ve never been a runner and I am now age 65. During my first year and a half of running, I did suffer a minor setback with tendinitis in the hip, which required me to rest and exercise, not run. Once I got back on track, then I suffered a foot injury. Now that that is recovering, I wanted to get out there again and this app has been helping me to do that. It’s easy to use. I just hit start and it gives me a five minute warm-up, followed by prompts for running and walking until I complete it. I am excited to be running again and I look forward to getting back to doing greater distances. Thank you so much for creating this app for people like me to continue with a healthy lifestyle.

5/5A WONDERFUL app!
I finished Zero to 5K today (my 5K is in 2 days) and I feel completely ready! I love that this app has a Lock Screen feature, so that I’m not constantly hitting pause on accident and pausing my run. The interface is user-friendly, and the fact that this creator offers these fitness plans for free makes me willing to pay to support (a feature in the app that works like a donation.) It is so nice when you’re just getting started on your health journey to have free tools and resources—the cost of healthy food alone is difficult in this day’s grocery economy, needing new running shoes if you’re going to do this, etc… it was a stress taken away not to pay for an app that I had no idea whether I was going to stick with. But MOST IMPORTANTLY, it works. I feel physically ready and so excited for my 5K! I’ve already signed up for a 10K and will be continuing with this program to train.

If you were lucky enough to come across this bug, please enjoy the Premium features! :)

I want to keep Just Run as super simple as possible, but sometimes I get requests for features that sound really useful. Striking the balance between simple and useful is tricky, so I've decided to add some "Feature Previews" to let you decide which features should be made permanent. If you have Premium, you can try these now! Your feedback is super important, because it'll determine whether the features become permanent or not. Please email me at [email protected] to let me know what you think! This update adds two Feature Previews: - Live Activity: See the workout timer on your Lock Screen (and in the Dynamic Island on supported iPhones) - The Live Activity requires an internet connection during your workout to stay accurate - Beep Robot Trainer Voice: Plays a simple beep instead of a voice during your workout To try out these features, check out the Feature Preview section on the Settings screen. I look forward to your feedback!

This is a big update! If you come across any issues after updating, please email me from the Settings screen. I get quite a few emails from people who like to use Just Run over and over, so this update brings improvements for users who do workouts more than once! - Restarting an earlier workout will now show target dates for all later workouts, instead of showing them as complete - A new "See previous sessions" button lets you see all the times you've run a particular workout As well as all that, this update also brings some other new features! - New Backup and Restore functionality lets you transfer your workout data to a new phone, or manually keep two devices in sync - Added a new Perseverance Pink theme - You will now be prompted to confirm stopping a workout, to help avoid any accidental stops - The Settings button has moved to a new tab bar, to make it easier to access on large screens Plus some other fixes! - The total workout time in the workout summary now includes the seconds instead of rounding to the nearest minute - Changing to the 10K plan immediately after finishing the 5K plan now shows the correct target date of 3 days later

I'm very excited to announce Just Run 3.0! Though you might not notice much difference at first, the timer code has been rewritten from scratch to future-proof the app for the newest iOS versions. This will make the app use less battery, while also being more reliable in the background. On a personal note, this update is the result of months of work, research and testing. It wouldn't have been possible without your Premium purchases, which meant I could take time off from my day job to focus on Just Run. Thank you all so much for your incredible support, it's hard to express how much I appreciate it! - Gary

3.4.0
This update is based on all your feedback, thanks so much for your emails! * Landscape Mode I've heard from some of you that you use Just Run on a treadmill, and that it would be much easier to be able to place your phone on its side. Now you can! * Improved Design I've tidied up Just Run's design to make it easier to navigate. I've also chosen a more modern font which is much clearer to read. I hope this will help improve the app for people who emailed about readability issues. * Timer on Lock Screen (and Apple Watch!) I've rewritten the code for the Timer on Lock Screen Feature Preview from scratch, which should fix the majority of the bug reports I received for it. One change as a result of this is that this feature now requires iOS 18 or above. If you have an Apple Watch with WatchOS 11, you should now automatically see the timer on your Apple Watch during a workout session, alongside other widgets and Live Activities. Note that this will only work while your Apple Watch is close to your iPhone, so you'll still need to take your phone with you when running.

This update adds two new trainer voices to choose from, plus the app's first translation! Aiko joins Just Run as the first Japanese-speaking trainer, to coincide with the new Japanese translation of the app. She is energetic and encouraging, and worth choosing even if you don't speak Japanese! Jess is an upbeat and friendly Australian trainer joining Just Run. With Charlotte leaving the app at the end of August, Jess is a great new choice if you want an Australian accent.
