3/5Lost my rewards
This week I spent a lot of money shopping at JCPenny women’s clothing. I wanted to us a coupon that was on line and the cashier was not able to apply my coupon and insisted it was no good. However she did apply my rewards. I was about to leave the store but decided to go to customer service to see if that cashier could help me. She said the coupon I was showing the cashier earlier during my purchase was indeed good and working on my app. So she refunded everything I purchased and rang up my items (fresh start) applied my 30percent coupon and then tells me that I lost my rewards and that she COULD NOT give them back to me. This was a major INCONVENIENCE to me, I am very disappointed to lose my rewards and have to go through the trouble of having yo be rung up twice, waiting in line twice. She said I lost my rewards and would not get them back. All other stores reissue your rewards if there’s a return. Why is JC Penny making it so difficult for the customer? Another thing they need to work on is cleaning the few fitting rooms they have open, because many have been shut off (out of order) The doors are very dirty, like 25 years of grime that a bottle of windex and paper towels could easily clean up. Its really gross and the wall papers are falling apart. It’s time to update and make it more desirable to want to try things on. JC Penny has made a great change in the quality of clothes and household items, I am very pleased with the products but PLEASE UPDATE YOUR FITTING ROOMS AND BATHROOMS!!! Too many years of not keeping up, time to freshen up so I can give you 5 stars instead of 3 stars. Thank you!

Made an appointment with Samia for my teenage sons 3 weeks in advance for hair twists. They arrived on time at 3pm and were checked in at front desk. The person at the front desk left. They called me at 330 as no one had spoken to them or acknowledged them since. I called salon 3x and got voicemail each time. Left message. At 345 I called main number and they answered with just “hello”. I had to ask if it was JC Penney. I explained situation. They transferred me back to salon voicemail. I called main number again and again someone answered with just hello. I explained situation again and asked if someone could go to the salon to see what the issue was. They transferred me to another number and again someone answered with hello only. By now it was 4pm. I had to explain again and the customer service person was rude, telling me he’s just a kid and doesn’t know anything about the salon. My son finally called me back and said they went to ask one of the stylists working. She told them Samia was doing someone else’s hair. I got on the phone with her and she offered to get the manager. The manager reviewed Samia’s notes and said she wrote that someone called and canceled the appointment. She did not. Samia by this time had left. The manager told me she would call me back and she never did. My sons left at 4:15. They missed a family weekend trip because they wanted to get their hair done. Everyone’s time is important.

1/5Rice Cooker Monstrosity
I ordered a rice cooker from JC Penny for my son. The associate that helped me, Kris, was extremely nice and very understanding. He went to obtain the rice cooker for me upon seeing the condition of the box I started questioning if I wanted the rice cooker. Kris suggested we open the box to exam the product, so we did. When I saw the paper I told Kris I no longer wanted the rice cooker. The box looked as though it had been set out in the rain and when another associate came up she removed the product and upon smelling it stated it had a chemical smell to it. The paper on the inside that the lid was wrapped in was slightly brown, from the water or whatever it was that soaked the entire box and paper. I informed her that I was going to get a refund and she stated she was going to mark it as damaged so that it could not be resold. Both Kris and the lady were extremely professional and did all they could to take care of the situation. Not sure if I will be ordering anything from JCP again, even though it is convenient to order from them. JCP please check your products before they leave your warehouse so that customers are not shipped damaged or possibly damaged items. It is easier to do quality control prior to a package being shipped rather than having a customer that is disappointed and without a product. Please improve on your warehouse!!

IMO Jcp app is extremely frustrating to navigate when browsing to shop in general. Jcp has always been my favorite store! When using the app, not so much. Even with freq updates it’s very glitchy when scrolling items. Constantly shutting off & goes black every time ya try to do anything. Also frequently losing the pg & item your on. Hitting the back arrow never takes you back to your spot and you have to scroll & scroll to find your spot or keep having to go back to the beginning to start over bcuz it’s glitching or having to exit out only to start all over again, gives me anxiety lol so I do not use the app if I can help it unless I’m desperate. They update it frequently but the glitches NEVER get fixed. Tracking packages or looking up orders, rewards etc all good but the technical part of the app is absolutely terrible. But I’ll definitely keep shopping the store, it’s my #1 go-to place to shop; great service, awesome sales, amazing savings especially with rewards and always find what I need, want & even buy things not really needed bcuz sales & rewards are sooo good! Returns, never have issue with that at the store either everyone is extremely helpful. Now all they need to do is fix the app!

You’re website app is so maddening! I have to get off before I experience a total meltdown! It is so user-unfriendly. Why have filters if they just disappear in front of my eyes. I am surprised that this store is still in business! It is the most irritating app I have ever experienced. Someone better fix it fast. But, I doubt that with happen since I have had it forever and it’s the same old b@&$#%*t!!!!! I only get on your website when I have nerves of steel. I am to the point of deleting it all together. Can it really be that hard to fix? And don’t even get me started on shopping in store. Just a few things I will mention. We spend a ton of money at JC Penny and one time I took something back to exchange and the Berka wearing and other employee talked about me right in front of me. I wouldn’t say that if I wasn’t 100% sure. I told them that if they had something to say about me they could say it to my face and not whisper. Like I couldn’t hear them anyways. They both turned red. How dare them!!!!!! And when I shop I try to go when it is the least busy (like during OSU games), and your employee’s can’t be bothered. They can be seen talking to each other or just standing there but cannot offer to help me find an item. They have even yelled clear across the floor instead of coming over to help me. I felt embarrassed for me and them. If I ever did that at any of my jobs as a professional, I probably would have been fired on the spot. Sorry, but I cannot even find a good thing to say about your company at this time. Sincerely, RP
