  1. 4/5Love it !

I am not a gigging musician. I use this app to play background and keep the beat while I sing and play guitar over it. It’s just a learning device for me. BUT A GREAT ONE. The ability to change keys and fade instruments in and out is a HUGE feature. My complaint is that I have the original version that allowed me to purchase individual songs and now it is discontinued. Fortunately I bought many songs before they shut that business model down. I don’t need a huge library, but many times when I search the library for artists or songs I want to learn, they are not there. So it doesn’t make sense for me to subscribe and I thoroughly wish they would still let me buy what I want and download. Maybe there aren’t a lot of folks who feel like me, but I suspect there are, and it’s a huge missed business opportunity not to have this option for the non-professional community. Please reconsider JamZone !!

  2. 3/5Inconsistent

I’ve been using the app for 3 years. It’s a major part of my show and has pushed it to another level. That said, for long time users, I wish the updates wouldn’t change things without warning. For example, the latest update added a capo feature that wasn’t there before. During a gig, songs that I typically played in C#m all of a sudden were notated as A#m. I had no idea that they added this capo feature which meant the chords were noted as if a capo was on the 4th fret. This happening during a gig without advanced knowledge can make he gig quite difficult to get through. Also, songs that previously had chords and lyrics now don’t. A heads up should’ve been given about that. All in all a great app but terrible communication. If you’re using this as an active full time musician, be aware that they change things up without you knowing in advance. * Update: Developer responded saying I may have accidentally hit a button. No, that’s not what happened. Don’t blame a long time user for your inconsistent software updates.

  3. 5/5Great app. Well worth the subscription!

I just this past week, purchased the pro version of this app for solo gigs. Total game changer! I am not technically savvy, yet this app is incredibly simple to navigate & use. I purchased it 2 days before a private gig, never having used it or any other app like it before. Worked 100% perfectly! & I was able to add about 12 songs to my set, of the cuff, due to the fact that I did not have to take time to learn/memorize the new songs. & As much as most of us hate requests, it makes that a great possibility. When you can fulfill a request on the spot, that turns into more tips/money. Can't go wrong with that! - The sound quality is great, & I absolutely love the option to pan every instrument (even individual drums!), to achieve an actual stereo mix for live performance! Incredible app, & I recommend 10/10 for any solo musicians out there! - Only one downside, & I'm almost positive that it is out of the control of the developers, is the list of certain songs/artists available that do not allow the lyrics/chords. (pearl jam, tom petty, Neil Young, etc.) - the music is still there to play along with, but without the lyrics listed to at least use as a queue, you can easily lose your place. But again, I doubt the developers have any control over that... 🤷🏻‍♂️ Overall, if you are a solo artist looking to beef up your solo, cover set sound & or library, this is the app to do so. Couldn't be easier to navigate, & included, are some really amazing functions. I'll never perform cover solo sets without it, from here on out!

  4. 3/5Overall a fairly decent app, just a few quirks.

Jamzone is a cool app in concept, it allows you to only hear certain parts of a song along with that only certain instruments/vocals. Which don’t get me wrong is a useful and powerful tool. There’s a couple problems though. 1. Volumes are all over the place, without adjusting any settings, volume wise, you can open one song and have it be so quiet you can barely hear it even on a large speaker like I use. On the other hand, you could open a second song and have it be so loud you can’t hear anymore. Which is fine. It’s just sporadic and . I find myself adjusting the master volume slider constantly. 2. Not all of the songs seem to be in the original key or played the original way. I’ve mostly used different 80s rock songs and they’re all the songs they say they are, they also have a very large library. The issue is the songs aren’t always correct. other than that, the app is great it allows you to do a lot. They have an extensive library containing just about any song you could possibly think of, very good user interface, and for a relatively inexpensive price.

  5. 1/5Love/Dislike

I ‘m a new user. I’ve barely an intermediate guitar player-just singing and playing my instrument for personal enjoyment. Love my new band in an app, backup band, but I am troubled by the chords. I have been playing some songs 50 years and the chords are not matching my sheet music, song books, and some experience. It is troublesome. Yes, I can play a different chord, it sounds slightly different, but I can’t intuitively plan the song because it surprises me in different places with the cord changes. If I play a new song it is not particularly troublesome. But 60 years of playing with chord change ups, while the screen is racing by is a lot, disruptive, irritating, and causes me to wonder if a similar product may have similar problems. Support response has been quick as I have encountered these issues. I asked, if you could replace/change chords in a displayed songs. Answer was,no. I just have to either live with 60 years of a chord pattern or this app changed chord progression.
