4/5Flawed work of art
The devs clearly love the material. The elements of sound design music and art design were all clearly doted upon. Why not 5 stars? Firstly, the assumption that there would be an option to have the book read to the user can’t be only my own. Yet, you still must do allthe reading in a time when audiobooks are closing in quickly on the print market. An interactive book- what does that sound like? Sure, some would prefer to “turn” the “pages” and read with their eyes but why not both things? Secondly, as one does read the old fashion words in the old fashion way, even the nerdiest bookworm will encounter a word in the text that is out of use and might as well be a foreign word. No way am I reading an immersive interactive book so I can look up the words in a dictionary or separate dictionary app. Why is there no ability to highlight words, therein providing a built in Apple dictionary to look up what Sagacity means? Or a glossary worth the option to have those archaic words highlighted? Otherwise, this is a very cool and unique upgrade on boring old kindle reading.

4/5Great homage to Poe’s works
I really enjoyed the music and illustrations for these classic Poe tales. One feature that would be nice is the ability to lower the volume of the music which was blaring much louder than the sound effects. I was about to give a 5-star review, then a pop-up asked me for a review with only two options, OK and OK. I have to subtract a star for that unfortunately.

5/5Captivating use of multimedia to heighten scary experience
Makes Gothic tales come alive. So far I’ve been pretty enthralled by Lovecraft and Poe. I’ve been one to have been entertained by the many ways to experience the depths of Cthulhu (games, graphic comics, Tarot, Necronomicon) and I remember I was drawn to Poe growing up with a comic format. I look forward to Sleepy Hollow. I’ve always loved that tale. Tim Burton has always had a special place in my heart for divining deliciously dark sequences. And the Sleepy Hollow Disney Tale is worth waiting thru the Wind in the Willows Mr Toads (not so) Exciting Ride to see one of the scariest Disney animated episodes ever made. Love the transition from happy go lucky Icabod Crane singing and dancing to the scary ride home thru the woods of Sleepy Hollow. And the singing/narration of Bing Crosby are so rich.

1/5Suspicious
These books are entertaining and well done, but unfortunately I have to give them a low rating due to the apps suspicious behavior. I have purchased all of the iclassics and found that they all immediately default to the 'on' position in cellular data and immediately use nearly a megabyte of data. Why a book would need to use any data at all is curious and that they use that much data is both odd and suspicious. I wrote to the company at the email posted on their website but received no response. I cannot recommend purchasing these books unless they stop this practice of sending whatever data they're gathering and using customers cellular data without permission.

5/5They're Baaaaaack
I'm not one for reviews, but I've loved every single app these guys and gals have put out...I was truly disconcerted after recent updates that all the content in each collection was locked...BUT! A single email to support got me back where I wanted to be, completely immersed in these incredible tales. Fastest and greatest app support I've seen yet... thank you!!
