  1. 5/5Best companion for my workouts.

I just wanted a simple stopwatch to track my rest time and an alert to start my next set. I would love to have larger buttons like two big circles for lap and pause or restart. It would also be nice to have some kind of counter to show how many sets I have completed. But overall, I really love this app. ***Update*** What a great improvement from the last version, at some point I was afraid of the app losing support but I was proven wrong. I truly believe the developer read the email I sent him long ago, because now the app does everything I wanted and I had been looking for an app like this for a long time and even better. My previous timers got deleted but it was not a big deal because with the app now I was able to set the time for my rest and how many rounds I needed which made it easy to set up the timers again.

  2. 5/5(Update) IT’S Now Very Complicated

Update: I took some time and eventually figured it out. It’s really still a great app. I use it for many things, but my cold showers are where it really shines. Instead of trying to endure 2 minutes, I calmly count the 30 second alerts until I’ve reached 2 minutes. (Old review): I loved the BeepWatch! I paid for no ads and it was very reasonable. But I was just “grandfathered-in” to BeepWatch pro and now the timers I created are gone and creating new timers is ridiculously complicated. Why would you do this? Can you un- “grandfather“ me? I want my old BeepWatch back.

  3. 2/5Works... kind of

The watch itself functions well. The beep can get annoying, but I think that is mostly because I use it while listening to other apps and it blares kind of loud. However, early on I purchased the pro version through the app, but it has never taken effect. I sent a message to the developer through the app and never heard back and no solution presented itself. Even attempting to restore purchases, or purchasing again, I get a message saying I’ve already purchased it and it will be restored automatically for free... but the. I bring the app back up, because it is playing in the background for my purposes, and have to wait through ads every time before I can close them, close the option to buy (again) the pro version to get rid of ads, and then I can get to stopping the timer. This might be okay with other apps, but not a stopwatch timer... time counts... it’s kind of the point.

  4. 5/5Handy App and Responsive Service!

BeepWatch is a very handy app and it’s not just for interval training! First I used it for daily stretching. Next I set up a routine for manually watering new landscape. Works great for both and I’m sure I’ll come up with many more uses. It’s very flexible and I like the audible and haptic alerts as it transitions from one interval to the next. Scott provides great service! I was slightly annoyed that my watch face kept rotating and was upside down when I looked at it. I asked about it and he had a fix the next day. Thanks Scott!

  5. 5/5BeepWatch can now be completely Haptic - thank you to the developer

Scott DeSapio, the developer, is super responsive. We had a few email exchanges where he told me how to make my timer (alarm) on my watch vibrate without making sounds. (set volume = 0) - He also at my suggestion added a feature where the haptic alarm will keep going off until you stop it - great addition! This is a great app and thank you again to the developer!

Tag the timers you want to track (HIIT, Boxing, Yoga, and more) and opt in from Settings → Apple Health. Heart rate and active energy from your Apple Watch attach automatically — even when you start the timer on iPhone. With cross-device dedup, you'll never get double entries. Eight presets ship pre-tagged: HIIT, Tabata, Boxing, Jiu-Jitsu, EMOM, Push-up Walk, Rest Between Sets, and Meditation. NOTE: With version 3.5.1, updated preset Rest Timer to not track as Traditional Strength workout as the time tracked is actually between rounds. To track this as a workout in Apple Health, the recommendation would be to start the actual workout timer on your Apple Watch and the Rest timer separately on your phone (or vice versa).

  • 3.5.2

    • Fixed crashes that could happen when launching the app, opening timers, or returning after extended background time • Improved stability when locking your phone during a running timer — you'll now return right back to where you left off instead of the timer list • General performance and reliability improvements

  • 3.5.3

    • Smooth rolling number animations on main timer and monitor displays (MM:SS format) • General performance and reliability improvements

  • 3.5.51 · 13 Jul 2026

    • Fixed Persist Timer Complete stop button on watch. Now responds to taps, and the alert stays on the timer screen with a clear Stop Alert button so you can dismiss it when you're ready.

  • 3.5.6

    • Changing Default Interval Options on a timer now updates every interval right away, without an extra confirmation. App-wide defaults under Settings still ask when that would overwrite customized timers. • Added a new global "Clock Animations" option in Settings -> Appearance. When enabled, the main timer counter will animate smoothly when the time format is set to MM:SS. When disabled, the digits will swap instantly. Note that the animation eats more CPU and battery, so it's disabled by default.

  • 3.6.0

    • Action Button support on Apple Watch Ultra — assign BeepWatch to start, pause, and resume timers hands-free during workouts, refereeing, or any moment when tapping isn't an option. • Full lap history on Apple Watch — scroll through every recorded lap instead of just the most recent few, so you can review your complete split-time history during or after your run. • Accurate pause and resume timing on Apple Watch — elapsed time, duration progress, lap splits, and round counts now stay precise after you pause and resume, especially on long-duration timers like White Noise.

  • 3.6.3

    • Apple Watch Ultra Action Button support: Assign BeepWatch under Settings → Action Button → Workout to start, pause, and resume timers hands-free during workouts, refereeing, or any moment when tapping the screen isn't an option. • Action Button now follows the timer on screen: If you open a timer on your watch but haven't started it yet, the Action Button starts that timer instead of always using your configured default. • Reliable Action Button pause and resume: Starting, pausing, and resuming with the Action Button now works end-to-end — including the second press after a fresh start and pause/resume with the side button. If a start can't proceed, your watch tells you why instead of silently opening the app. • Fixed background battery drain: Leaving a timer open without running it no longer keeps the app awake in the background. BeepWatch now only stays active while a timer is actually running.

  • 3.6.4

    • Paused timers now restore exactly where you left them — no more phantom running time or missing interval sounds when you return hours or days later • Timer list displays the orange Paused badge immediately and keeps it after reopening the app

  • 3.6.41

    • Persist Timer Complete: New per-timer option keeps the completion alert — sound and haptics — repeating until you dismiss it, so you never miss the end when you can't watch the screen. Turn it on under Default Interval Options in Advanced Mode on iPhone; works on both iPhone and Apple Watch. • Fixed random Clicks during long Apple Watch workouts: Workouts longer than ten minutes no longer play the interval warning sound at the wrong time. Those extra Clicks were a background session renewal, not a timer miscount.

  • 3.6.42

    • Spoken "Timer Complete" now respects your interval volume — set volume to 0 and the timer finishes with haptics only, no voice

  • 3.6.50

    • Action Button now works instantly on Apple Watch Ultra — even on a cold start — because your timers are remembered on the watch itself. No more "Start Timer failed" messages. • Steadier background ticks: When you switch away with Tick Per Second enabled, the tick stays evenly spaced from the first second — no more long gaps while another app is in the foreground.
