1. 4/5Great for finding long-lost friends, but could be even better

   I’ve found Intelius to be the best “people finder” app/web site for re-connecting with long-lost friends and acquaintances from high school and college, especially since they’ve added educational background to their search results. It would be even more helpful in that regard if the app or web site allowed users to find people using that information by including a search field for secondary school or college plus a date range. A few of my Intelius searches have yielded imcorrect results – one showed a former classmate at the high school I attended in Florida as having instead attended high school in Harrisburg, PA, even though she never went there. In another case, they seem to have scrambled the information for a former classmate with that of an entirely different person who has a similar first and middle name and who currently lives in the same county in Florida, and it took me a while to untangle which information actually belonged to my former classmate and which to the other person. But for the most part, their search results are spot on. I gave this app four stars only because I’d like to be able to search for people by the schools they attended, and because of those rare scrambled search results. But overall, I highly recommend Intelius – their information is comprehensive, they have a generous trial period before making you pay for a subscription, and their subscription fee is reasonable.

   I’ve not yet purchased anything but for my first tries I was very satisfied. I couldn’t find out too much information about the phone number I was looking up so it is probably no one that I need to call back. But then I typed in names of long lost friends (many of whom have ordinary names, and that I have tried looking up before...) and was surprised at the amount of information provided, well beyond what I would have expected and enough identify specific people. Now, if I contact.... or don’t ....who knows/ follow through ect. But atleast I have info if ever want to

3. 1/5Lies and manipulative

   Nothing about purchases on the download button, or in the description… pictures say UNLIMITED SEARCHES. You start a search inquiry and it makes you sign up, name and email… then you have to redo the inquiry…. Pulls up name matches, but when you click on to get the report, they hit you with the payment….. so they sucker you into “willfully providing” your info…. But theres more. Says they collect no data….. umm. Name, email, payment info…..hmmm. Thats data…….. And leave it good ole apple,trust apps only from the app store they say. Apps must adhere to such and such blah blah blah..apps cannot collect data that does not fit the need for the function of the app they say…so why are these apps able to collect “other data”(any data other data type not mentioned)…. ..….. NONE OF IT REALLY MATTERS BECAUSE THEY DO NO VERIFY THAT APPS FOLLOW TO THE DATA THEY SAY THEY COLLECT…. WE HAVE NO ACCESS TO EXACTLY WHAT THE APPS ARE DOING IN THE BACKGROUND…. So its near impossible to trace anything back to the bad actors responsible …. Theres apps and websites that feel the need to share with all their “affiliates”, and we are responsible for understanding the terms and conditions because we apparently become bound to them when on the one site or app…. They had 178 affilaates……..foh with that….

4. 2/5Not unlimited all access

   When you first search someone (namely yourself as inevitable) it wants you to sign up for the “unlimited all access” pass at $25 a month. I was curious to see what would pop up under my “licenses” so I decided to spend the $25 for the “unlimited all access” pass. I clicked the tab that was in the license box and bought the subscription. Then when you go to the license portion it says to access that you have to spend another $20 per persons report. I don’t think they know what unlimited all access means. Half the information on myself is inaccurate or old data. It’s an okay source to get some extra information on someone that might help you along the way, but I would avoid the extra pass and in app purchases.

5. 3/5Needs Improvement

   I have used this app since IOS 10 and now with IOS 11.4. FOR 2 Years now when I tap on the app the orange screen opens but it never changes to the search page unless I double tap to see all apps open, then it will show the search page but most of the time it is unresponsive and won't let me type in the info for a search. No matter how many times I close the app the same thing keeps happening. Only occasionally does the app work correctly. This being a paid app surely someone in the Company can fix this problem. When this app works it works great and has been extremely useful to me. I hope it can be improved and I can update my review with a better rating.
