5/5FIX AIRPLAY LAGS & BLUETOOTH PLAYER MALFUNCTION
This is by far the best app to play movies (of finest quality and high resolution) and the fact that it supports Dolby Vision and Audio is just everything. But here’s the down side to the latest update, during airplay via TV-WiFi Router-IPhone, the audio quality starts to get worse by the muffled and distorted audio quality it gives unless you open a pic from gallery just so it could change the picture quality to Dolby Vision and still have to go back to the infuse player in order to smoothen the audio results, I mean why can’t infuse app just play the Dolby vision and audio directly? Secondly, when you use airplay with wireless (Bluetooth speakers or home theater) at some point, the audio stops and disconnects the TV from the Bluetooth speakers, but works smoothly when you use ARX/AUX cables for audio output, but why that when wireless technology is has been a major technological innovation/breakthrough?! Please look into these issues. And also, the PIP works only once or twice daily after paying for PRO services? Afterwards, you won’t find the PiP button again when you have to use it. It was supposed to be unlimited for PRO users as stated in the article.

5/5The Awesome and the Not So Awesome (but still Awesome)
This is the best player I have ever tried and I’ve tried a ton (and keep evaluating new ones as they come out.) I’ve been using Infuse since it came out and always come back to it as my main choice. The Pro will play absolutely everything and flawlessly. The bad - I’ve been burned buying the previous pro stand alone version all of which have fallen by the wayside and left to rot. I am not a subscription fan. I understand innovation takes money and backing and I’ve sucked it up and do the subscription now. The added features have been awesome so I deal with it. (Although a bit cheaper would be nicer.) What I would like added is having a library/share with dual addresses - with one public and one private address for the same share so I don’t double up my posters and metadata for my NAS at home that I can access via a public IP on the road. All that being said, this is still the best player on the market and that warrants some props and some cash. Again, based on performance and features, you will not find one better.

4/5File sorting and viewing not working properly
The latest version has made some changes that have affected the sort functionality. Previous versions of this app let you sort your movie files from any folder. That’s been removed and you can only sort from the main library screen and that sort order applies to all folders. That’s ok except sort by file name no longer works and I rely on that. I have all my video files named specifically in the way I want them sorted. Sorting by file name works perfectly in Emby but no longer with Infuse. The sort seems to be stuck on sorting by title. Please fix this and return the previous functionality the app had. Also, viewing your library by grid or list also does not behave the way it used to. Again, you can only control the viewing style from the main library screen but it does not apply to all folders. If I choose to view my main library by list, it works there but doesn’t apply to the movie folders. The folders stay in grid format. On my phone I like to view my movie files in list format. Please fix this as well. Other than that, I love Infuse and I have been using it for years. I’m just a bit disappointed with the latest releases of this app.

This video player has blown my expectations out of the water. I just wanted something that could allow me to stream offline movies from my Mac to avoid needing to using up my limited space on my phone. Not only does this app makes it stupidly easy, but even if you use an encrypted external drive and put your Mac to sleep, you’re still able to flawlessly stream. No need to wait for your Mac to reformat your content for streaming. Which would take a long time if each movie you have took a while to reformat and you happen to have a bunch of them. It may vary by your internet connection but in my case I have a fast connection. My other favorite part of this app is how beautiful and modern the design looks and how it also provides thumbnails for the content you’ve added. The best part is that you can keep all your content stored on your Mac and you’re still able to see the thumbnails unlike other apps where they only show you the thumbnails if the content is locally stored on your phone. My final point is that even if you don’t upgrade to the pro version, this app has everything you need if you just want something that works and you watch all of your favorite content at home anyways. This app is amazing for anyone who wishes to separate themselves from streaming services and wish to own their media in a way that still feels as modern as a streaming service. In other words, this is a great way of creating your own personal streaming service for only stuff that you actually care watch.

Update: loving it but I have a suggestion. When scrubbing or seeking through a video, while I totally dig the thumbnail view I wish it stayed full screen once I stopped seeking to let it resume play. It really should stay in full screen mode or give us that option. But maybe I am missing how to do this? A little annoying but I can live with it. Five stars for just honoring my old purchase of Infuse Pro 4 with a free year subscription. I might still end up buying 7 when it comes out next year just because I came close to buying 6 but thought I better wait a few more months for 7. Some suggestions, advance the movie player interface as some recent reviewers called out. It is lacking. There has to be a balance between elegance and features/functionality. Decoder is great, it just needs more robust controls without being too cluttered. Honorary half star removed for the UI. Otherwise I love the scrubbing of videos with the thumbnail view. Half dozen players and I never saw this being used.

But here’s the down side to the latest update, during airplay via TV-WiFi Router-IPhone, the audio quality starts to get worse by the muffled and distorted audio quality it gives unless you open a pic from gallery just so it could change the picture quality to Dolby Vision and still have to go back to the infuse player in order to smoothen the audio results, I mean why can’t infuse app just play the Dolby vision and audio directly? Secondly, when you use airplay with wireless (Bluetooth speakers or home theater) at some point, the audio stops and disconnects the TV from the Bluetooth speakers, but works smoothly when you use ARX/AUX cables for audio output, but why that when wireless technology is has been a major technological innovation/breakthrough?! Please look into these issues. And also, the PIP works only once or twice daily after paying for PRO services? Afterwards, you won’t find the PiP button again when you have to use it. It was supposed to be unlimited for PRO users as stated in the article.",

          "body": "This is the best player I have ever tried and I’ve tried a ton (and keep evaluating new ones as they come out.) I’ve been using Infuse since it came out and always come back to it as my main choice. The Pro will play absolutely everything and flawlessly. The bad - I’ve been burned buying the previous pro stand alone version all of which have fallen by the wayside and left to rot. I am not a subscription fan. I understand innovation takes money and backing and I’ve sucked it up and do the subscription now. The added features have been awesome so I deal with it. (Although a bit cheaper would be nicer.) What I would like added is having a library/share with dual addresses - with one public and one private address for the same share so I don’t double up my posters and metadata for my NAS at home that I can access via a public IP on the road. All that being said, this is still the best player on the market and that warrants some props and some cash. Again, based on performance and features, you will not find one better.",

          "title": "File sorting and viewing not working properly",
          "body": "The latest version has made some changes that have affected the sort functionality. Previous versions of this app let you sort your movie files from any folder. That’s been removed and you can only sort from the main library screen and that sort order applies to all folders. That’s ok except sort by file name no longer works and I rely on that. I have all my video files named specifically in the way I want them sorted. Sorting by file name works perfectly in Emby but no longer with Infuse. The sort seems to be stuck on sorting by title. Please fix this and return the previous functionality the app had. Also, viewing your library by grid or list also does not behave the way it used to. Again, you can only control the viewing style from the main library screen but it does not apply to all folders. If I choose to view my main library by list, it works there but doesn’t apply to the movie folders. The folders stay in grid format. On my phone I like to view my movie files in list format. Please fix this as well. Other than that, I love Infuse and I have been using it for years. I’m just a bit disappointed with the latest releases of this app.",

          "body": "This video player has blown my expectations out of the water. I just wanted something that could allow me to stream offline movies from my Mac to avoid needing to using up my limited space on my phone. Not only does this app makes it stupidly easy, but even if you use an encrypted external drive and put your Mac to sleep, you’re still able to flawlessly stream. No need to wait for your Mac to reformat your content for streaming. Which would take a long time if each movie you have took a while to reformat and you happen to have a bunch of them. It may vary by your internet connection but in my case I have a fast connection. My other favorite part of this app is how beautiful and modern the design looks and how it also provides thumbnails for the content you’ve added. The best part is that you can keep all your content stored on your Mac and you’re still able to see the thumbnails unlike other apps where they only show you the thumbnails if the content is locally stored on your phone. My final point is that even if you don’t upgrade to the pro version, this app has everything you need if you just want something that works and you watch all of your favorite content at home anyways. This app is amazing for anyone who wishes to separate themselves from streaming services and wish to own their media in a way that still feels as modern as a streaming service. In other words, this is a great way of creating your own personal streaming service for only stuff that you actually care watch.",

          "body": "Update: loving it but I have a suggestion. When scrubbing or seeking through a video, while I totally dig the thumbnail view I wish it stayed full screen once I stopped seeking to let it resume play. It really should stay in full screen mode or give us that option. But maybe I am missing how to do this? A little annoying but I can live with it. Five stars for just honoring my old purchase of Infuse Pro 4 with a free year subscription. I might still end up buying 7 when it comes out next year just because I came close to buying 6 but thought I better wait a few more months for 7. Some suggestions, advance the movie player interface as some recent reviewers called out. It is lacking. There has to be a balance between elegance and features/functionality. Decoder is great, it just needs more robust controls without being too cluttered. Honorary half star removed for the UI. Otherwise I love the scrubbing of videos with the thumbnail view. Half dozen players and I never saw this being used.",
