1. 2/5Unsurprisingly Prejudice

   If you want a single entity to judge you based on an AI’s opinion of you, it’s your type of app. These people profit from your unemployment and actually tell employers they’ve got “systems” built in to find them a “suitable candidate” based on unverified information on a resume. They won’t admit it, but they’ve got “rating systems” and categories for everyone. You know that last piece of information they say is for the gov? That’s also for them and it’s used to place you within the “suitability” ladder. Your race and gender matter more now than ever and it’s being used to label you. Also, these ridiculous employers who use these apps actually get beyond a “feedback” button when it relates to “rating” you. You make Indeed the cash, you are the asset the employers need but you’re not given all the tools the employers get. More-so, your “feedback” if negative is hidden depending on the employer. These are nerds with a dataset they call a “profile” but with no actual real-world knowledge about the people using their app. Now, AI is going all out telling employers you’re not suited or are a fit for their companies when it has zero experience outside of its servers. My advice, go old school and present yourself. Avoid getting your privacy violated, data resold and judged by a program. It’s ridiculous just how dumb people are to trust in anything or believe something if it’s repeated enough on screens.

2. 1/5Technical issues

   I’ve been using indeed for a a few years now with a few minor annoyances, however with recent AI and UI changes, I’ve had problems. Most of the issues are systemic, such as not having employers post an estimated pay range, have inaccurate locations posted on job listings, and not holding employers accountable for ghosting applicants. All of that can be argued is not part of Indeed’s job. However, what can’t be argued is the fact that somewhere in the last six months, indeed’s software simply ate half of my resume. Random portions are gone that were there before, and the only reason I know is because it notified me on the app this morning when I opened it. l’ve applied for countless jobs in the last few months, and the fact that I’ve sent a half completed resume (that was fully completed before) is mortifying. I don’t know how many potential higher paying positions this has cost me, and the more I think about it, the more irritated I get. Why would employers bother to get back to me if it looks like I can’t be bothered to send them a completed resume? I shouldn’t have to check to see if the most basic feature of a job search app is working every time I submit an application, but now it seems that I am going to have to. The point of the app is to make searching and applying for jobs easier and less stressful, and it has failed on every front. If I could give negative stars, I would.

3. 1/5Horrible format with one good feature that backfires

   Once you start looking for a job, it restricts you to your field so much that i cannot find other jobs outside my field. And i need a job. I cant be picky, and it can’t help me. I need a map. Where i can draw a circle. And say show me EVERY SINGLE JOB in the area—organized like this. I can’t even find a job. And the one good thing, being able to apply with just a few buttons, has backfired on us—making it so employers have so many applications, they wont even take the time to look at most of us. Also it is has extremely annoying constant notifications that will bother you when you don’t want to look, and if you turn them off, they bother you with allowing them the whole time. I might as well not even bother trying to find a job on here, because i have better luck the old fashioned way. 6 months, and i still cant get 20 hours a week. I have 4 jobs. Thanks indeed. Glad you took over the market and screwed us all over. Also shut up about the notifications. I dont even want to open the app because all it will do is pester me about notifications. I have them off because it will bother us all day long about stuff i dont care about. And if it is off—it relentlessly asks about turning them back on. At this point, im boycotting this app. I dont care if i have to fill out the whole application. Im done with this.

4. 1/5Something is strange

   Think something fishy is up. 15 jobs applied with one one company getting back to me. You check on a post 2-3 days later and the job post is expired so you start a new search and bam…. The same posted job is shown. Talked with the one company that got back to me about emails stating “you were not chosen for the job..” or similar. Company states this is an issue with the app. When they move a potential employee from one section to another the email(s) are automatically sent out stating that you were not selected ect. Kind of strange right? Starting to wonder if employers are getting the information sent to them. Update…. 70 jobs applied. “2 companies”reached out after my 1 star review about indeed. Only after my one star review!Look at job postings, you will see more and more “this position is not a position yet…”. Why post jobs or allow companies to post if they are not real. You would think that indeed, a job listing/finding service would only allow jobs not well maybe in the future…. Wish I had money to fix indeed or apple for allowing apps like this. Stay away from. Way too many “possible” jobs listed by companies, companies put that in the listing that the post is not a job just a position they are the thinking of creating. So indeed is not a place to find a job rather it is an app to view jobs that could be a job.

5. 4/5Trouble with the app

   I like this app and it’s really cool besides getting a bunch of emails but there’s something horrible wrong with this app that needs to be fixed. So when I get a notification it’ll leave a number on the app on how many notifications I got! So when I get on the app on the top right corner it has a bell. So I go to press it and look at my notifications which it shows me when I press the bell and to be honest it usually happens when I get a job match or a haven’t heard back yet. And it’s highlighted in blue on what I haven’t seen yet. So I press it and the job comes up then I disregard it if I don’t like it or I’ll fill out an application if I like it. But here’s the problem and what needs to be fixed. Once I’m done looking at the job I press the home button in the right corner or press the arrow on the left corner and it takes me back home. But I’ll still have a red dot on the bell so I’ll have to go back in look at the job and then go back home? But it still doesn’t get rid of the number on my apps nor does the red dot go away in the bell so I’ll have to keep going in and going home going in the bell looking at the notification then press the home button and it still doesn’t go away it takes forever to disappear and honestly it’s annoying please fix it. Once it’s read it should disappear but it doesn’t! I even have to do this process multiple times and still a red dot on my bell and a number on may app then after 10+ times or more it finally goes away please fix this issue and thanks
