   I’ve been trying bookkeeping and mileage tracking solutions for years and they’ve always been a huge source of stress for me. The minute you download this app it starts tracking your mileage automatically so you know exactly how much income your business is generating without having to guess. I downloaded a few different mileage tracking apps and this was the only one that really started automatically helping. Years ago I used to have to go back and retroactively fill out my mileage with Google Calendar and Google Maps to determine my mileage deductions since I would forget to track trips when I was in a rush... Thinking about the time I wasted doing that makes me cringe. The app also links to your bank account so you can easily reconcile your expenses on your phone by swiping and also by setting rules. This makes it easy to cut unnecessary expenses when you see them pop up such as services you may have forgot to cancel. I’m the type of person that can’t handle not tracking every penny that goes in and out of my business. I think a lot of people who drive frequently for their business don’t even realize how thin their margin may be. You may even be losing money and not realize it. This app will save you a lot. There is no need for me to pay a bookkeeper anymore. The app tracks everything and I just talk to my CPA if I have any questions about whether something is deductible or not then simply set the rule. At the end of the year you can print out a spreadsheet and have your CPA file for you. Your CPA should charge less because he will basically just need to submit what you give him to the IRS.

2. 2/5Not a good day for Hurdlr

   I have used this program and app for a little while. It has overall been very good and simple. I would give this a 4 star but today I realize I can’t get help with an actual person like I used to. I get the very useless AI bot that still can’t connect me to anyone and I’m being told I need to wait 24 hours. I don’t remember that being a thing. My problem is that I pay for pro and can’t get features on the mobile app. They make you pay for pro but can’t access pro on the app. So stupid. I want to login on my phone web browser and get to the online version but they only have a desktop accessing version, if that makes sense, and can’t even view through the phone. So I can’t get work done while at work because I don’t have a laptop with me or access to one because I do mobile work. I also tried to give a link to my accountant again because he can’t find the original link from a year ago. I only see my accountant once a year because my line of work is service related with hardly any overhead. So I don’t really need him until the end of the year but somehow I can’t even delete his info to re add him. It just inactivates his access and that’s it. I just want some of the issues I face to be fixable without having to ask for help and so it could just be that I am a special case and that most people won’t have issues like me. I don’t believe Hurdlr is really wrong here but the fact I can’t really fix my problems quickly is a pain I don’t want to have.

3. 5/5Awesome for small business

   I am a small LLC, an ant in the world of business, even for my relatively small state. That being said, I am also a new business owner, as in I had zero knowledge of anything related to taxes, deductions, expense tracking, quarterly reports/payments (estimated payments) etc. So far, this app seems like it will help me tremendously in keeping track of my owed taxes for the year as well as giving me a good idea of what to send to the IRS quarterly in order to stay on top of everything and maximize my deductions. The more I use the app, the more useful I’m finding it to be. Now I have a one stop app to integrate my profits and expenses and is integrated with square as well, my primary payment processor. I would highly recommend this app as it is well worth the 100 dollar yearly fee. Saves me from tracking everything via excel or another means. User interface is great too, but I would highly advise that you click through everything because I found a lot of useful tools and settings that weren’t overly apparent from looking at the main tabs. We’ll see come tax time how extracting all of this information goes and applies when it matters. So far, it puts my mind at ease and that’s saying a lot when I’d rather focus on running a business. UPDATE 1/3/23 I stand by my original review! This app is truly amazing and the customer support is quick to respond straight from the chat on the site, and has always had the answer or solution I needed. Filing my taxes was a breeze as it easily imported my schedule-c to Taxslayer. There were just a couple things I had to fix, like mileage, but that is nothing compared to the time saved with this tool. Highly, highly recommend!

4. 5/5Great App & Great Customer Svc!

   I found Hurdlr looking for a mileage tracking app. This is the the only App I found that allows you unlimited mileage in the free version! Other apps force you to pay after a certain number of miles or trips. Not Hurdlr! I also love how it auto tracks my mileage (without draining the battery) as tracking mileage was always something I was really bad at doing myself. Being able to keep track of my Income and expenses is also so helpful as I don't have steady income or expenses and I used to wait to do this at the end of the year out of laziness which was so stressful. I love how this app can help ANY small business owner or freelancer. I probably could have saved so much money in tax write offs had I been using this all along. Not only that but I no longer need to stress about adding up my expenses at the end of the year or wishing I had written down my mileage for each client! The customer service is also great! I love how they have a direct chat integrated into the app and definitely do what they can to help and make their customers happy. I wish I had this app years ago. Tax time won't be as stressful for me anymore!! Thank you Hurdlr for making my life easier!

5. 4/5Great app, could be better

   I have been using the app for a little over a month now. It has been a great help estimating my taxes for the year, tracking expenses, and tracking miles. I have two problems that prevent me from giving this app a 5-star rating. The first issue is that you can’t just turn on the tracking, you need to rely on the app being open and figuring out that you are moving. I’d say the app is about 95% reliable at doing this when it is open, and about 10% reliable at this task when closed. Typically I remember to open the app so its not a big deal…except when the app crashes in the background and I don’t notice. Having a dedicated on button would be really nice and the fact it doesn’t surprises me. My final issue with the app is its annoying incessant desire to always never be closed. I go in to check on my tax burden and move money in my budget and as soon as I close it I get an annoying pop-up and jingle. Folks, I’m not always working so seriously cut this feature out or make it so I can turn it off separate from other pop-ups. I like knowing when I need to identify payments as business/non-business, but the constant “open us back up for better tracking performance” is just obnoxious.
