  1. 4/5Some issues with the way the app works, but overall awesome!

I haven’t had this for very long, but I’m really loving the community aspect already. As an autistic person, I’ve really struggled to date and make friends, and it’s awesome to have a space like this! (By “struggled”, I mean than I often get ditched or essentially bullied when I tell people I’m autistic.) Sadly, there’s not all that many people close to me, but that really has nothing to do with the app itself. There are a few things I dislike about the app itself so far. First, people I’ve already hit X on keep showing back up in the match section of the app. Like, near the top the next time I open the app. I wish that when I hit X, those profiles wouldn’t continue to show up. Second, I hate that I can’t specify any distance between 25 & 100 miles. That’s a huge difference, and I really would just like to be able to specify the distance mile by mile, not in set numbers with huge gaps. Third, I do wish the buttons didn’t disappear when I’m scrolling down on someone’s profile. It takes a good 5 seconds to pop back up, and I just wish they stayed there the whole time.

  2. 3/5Moderation is inconsistent and underinvested in.

They over-moderate queer women, and under moderate misogynists. That being said I still recommend trying the app to see for yourself, it’s no where near as bad as a Meta or Google, product. The community is great if you press the block button fast on the creeps. Moderation is fast, and reactive, in a bad way. Think fast broad brushes, occasional over reaction from a lack of understanding or patience. A larger moderation team to remove pressure from each individual moderator, and a more diverse moderation team would help with reactivity and reduce rigid perspectives and bias. There may also be poor management of moderation above the moderation team. That‘s just a hunch though. All the individual moderators are wonderful. Every time I have seen moderation address issues publicly it has been flawless. It’s apparent to me there’s a lot of passion and care from the moderators. Hope my experience is uncommon and I hope you still choose to try it. I hope this feedback is useful for future improvement. This app has lots of bugs and flaws which I overlooked. I really wanted to like it. Unfortunately, I felt unseen, especially in regards to the non-verbal communication and context clues around moderation. I also felt a bit targeted. These are just my perceptions, but I think there’s some truth to them. May try it later and update my review given how few apps cater to autistic people, but for now I’m gonna spend my time elsewhere. Also the premium monthly subscription is insane, and price prohibitive. That 44$ price has got to go.

  3. 1/5Allot of Hate Speech.

I was surprised to find an app for people on the spectrum would turn out the way it did. At first I was excited and it was pretty good until I started to notice allot of people talking down to people who were more developmentally challenged and made posts about it. Then I started noticing people chanting hate speech they didn’t understand and people were using when attacking and killing people in my area, so I started to flag these posts with no result so I ended up making a post about how these hate posts should be removed and how these posts relate to the attacks that where happening. My post was completely polite and non-aggressive, however it was met with extremist aggression and verbal attacks by some of the community, then my post was removed for what they said violating the terms of service. But angry hate posts are allowed? So I made another post asking if anyone else had this experience using the app, and my account was banned! And I sent a message asking why my account was banned and never received a reply… my only conclusion is this app is run by extremely immature people who support hate speech and believe it’s okey to verbally attack people who politely disagree with them. I’m a truly kind and caring person who believes being polite is the way to peace but this app is not a safe place for people who aren’t as tough skinned as me and I could see this app triggering self harm in people who suffer from Severe depression.

  4. 3/5Better hope you’re lucky

When it comes to being neurodivergent there are so many different types of people, just like any dating app, but the hard part here is that it’s exceedingly rare to find people who compliment or align to not only your brain type/ personality/ communication style, but are also anywhere near you. This isn’t the app’s fault as this is the inherent struggle we face in the real world, but you have to be patient and a little lucky to meet someone you can actually click with. I happened to make a couple connections and one that truly seems promising and almost like talking to another member of my tribe for once, but they live 350 miles away. Thankfully we are both open to whatever comes of our connection and wouldn’t mind travel, especially since we are both near major airports, but I recognize this is super rare. Especially for both parties to find each other not only cognitively, but physically attractive. You have to get creative to even match with people if you’re not willing to pay exorbitant rates. It’s possible with some work, but the match system is not effective at all for the free version.

  5. 3/5Good for community but super hyper critical

It is a great app for having a real community of other neurodivergent ppl for friendship or if you want to meet for romance. But Without even mentioning the astounding paywall, it’s very critical on speech and not always inclusive for free-thinking/critically-thinking types. Having a complaint of something you post or comment could get you blocked completely for the day. Lots of eggshells on the floor to walk on. If you think that people out in everyday society are finding things to be offended about, it’s even more intensified in this app. The mods can be biased. In actuality, you can only post or comment super positive things or get shut down. And anything you post can be recategorized by the mods to a different category feed thereby limiting exposure, visibility, and audience. My overall result: 3 out of 5 stars, which is being generous. And if you can play along like a good little NPC, then you’ll get along just fine. If they trace this review back to me, I might get banned off the app. 🤣
