1. 3/5Search and favorites are bad leading to a poor user experience

   I mostly love this app, but the search functionality is not good. Even when you type in a specific search (for a brand product even) it will give results that are not what you searched and the actual item you searched for you have to scroll quite a bit to see it. I also really don’t like the way the favorites works. If I’m typing a food I often eat, I have to type the first word as it is stored. If I’m looking for a Quest blueberry protein bar, it won’t pull quest or blueberry, it has to be the exact first word as it is displayed and saved by the app (not how I would ever organically search for it). For this example, I have to type protein bar blueberry for it to come up. I would also like it if you could type a commonly used food and it come up as a suggestion rather than having to type it all out again. It would also be great if the app would suggest the foods by meal. For example, I rotate 3 breakfasts so it would be helpful when I go to track my breakfast if those frequent foods would pop up (not just the most common for all meals). Other than the ux for search and favorites, the app is great. I loved the old ww green plan and Healthi allows me to use that system which has helped me lose weight again. It would be a 5+ for me if those user experience elements were improved. Looking through previous reviews, it looks like the app asks you to send concerns/issues to an email address that offers no support. So if you (the app) truly care about customer feedback, you can communicate the concerns that myself and many others share to your support team yourself. Don’t ask a customer that has already spent time communicating feedback through your app to submit it in another format. That alone is poor customer service.

2. 2/5Struggling with Odds and Ends

   Hi I am struggling with the Healthi app. Many others have struggled as well. I’m paying for Better Balance Pro. There seems to be several problems. For instance, the Zero tab includes Black Beans. I open Black Beans and the slide for zero Bites is off. Are Black Beans Zero Bites, or is it an error? Catsup is worth 1 Byte but Ketchup is 0 Bites. Another flaw. There are lots of conflicts: is the Zero tab correct or is it not correct? I also think too many people are entering or scanning the exact foods that already exist. If the food is already entered or scanned and is part of the database, why why why are a bunch more people allowed to add the same thing to the database? Second, the way foods are entered. There should be another field, for the brand specifically. It’s dumb to have Chicken, Healthy Choice and Healthy Choice Chicken. Keep brand separate. Third, the app is not clear when we search for an item, say hot dog. There is a generic hot dog at the top. There is a see all hot dog at the bottom. Why? It’s quite messy. Third. Also there are a ton of community groups, but most of the groups haven’t been touched in years. So why doesn’t the company delete those groups that haven’t been touched for say 6 months? Fourth there are a lot of coaches that answer questions. However they also don’t know what to do about the times above or when someone might fix the app. And it seems like there is no technical support to answer questions. The app has excellent potential. *Note: their support email has not responded to my requests.*

3. 3/5Customer service could be better

   I needed to track my macros because I am working with a dietician. I have used the Healthi app for quite sometime and have enjoyed it. I paid for the pro so I am able to track my macros it works well, however, I went to export my logs for my dietician and my macros are not included in the log. I contacted customer service and asked if there was something I was missing a way to export my macros in with my report. A representative named Tristan sent me back a link on how to export my log. I replied and explained again that I know how to export the log but it does not include macros. I asked again is there a way to add that to the report. He responded “ If macros aren't showing up as an option, then unfortunately that isn't an option.” What a disappointment to not only not have that option as I paid for the pro in order to track my macros but also disappointed with the response I received and the way it was relayed to me. The representative did not seem knowledgeable about the app as he did not even comprehend what was asking. Even with his response the logs do not have options to choose from it just generates the report so I do not know what he is talking about options showing up. I hope you are able to fix this to include macros in the exportation of logs in the future.

4. 2/5Buyer beware

   I have the paid version and out the gate it has been glitchy, non-responsive taps and freezing which is manageable but it’s been nearly 2 months and it still is not tracking my bites and activity correctly. The activity either doesn’t show up on my day, is not accurate to the amount in the activity section, or is just frozen on an amount from days before. As someone who really uses the activity bites to motivate and see the results of my efforts at the gym on the screen, this really kills my motivation and makes me a lot less likely to track. I WAS in communication with tech support until I asked about a credit for the app not functioning how it is supposed to for almost 2 months. Haven’t heard back in almost 2 weeks now. I have updated the app regularly, swapped programs and adjusted every setting for activity tracking and use, restarted my phone several times, uninstalled and reinstalled the app and every other thing I could think of and that tech support suggested. It would fix it for maybe a day before breaking again. So now I am on here being “that guy” and giving a long, crummy review, but I am really disappointed and REALLY frustrated. If this doesn’t get resolved soon, I may as well just go back to WW or another program that functions, and chock this off as a lesson learned. The only reason that I gave it two stars is because when the app actually semi-worked, I really liked it. Now I am saddled with faulty junk.

5. 2/5Greediness showing

   I liked the previous version of WW, one of the main reasons I chose this app was that it enabled you to use the previous WW plan instead of the new one if you wanted. Also, it's much less expensive. It mostly enables me to do what I want to do and the scanner works great (better than WW). However let's face it, the general interface and food guides are clunky and not at all intuitive. I've paid for the app and at least 3 in-app purchases which are food guides. They are pretty bad - most of the time I'm going from app to app and then doing a web search to piece together the points for the food I'm eating. And then "new" guides become available for a full purchase cost - when they really should be updates to current users to help better the poor food searching guides already in place. Then there are nag screens to buy things like their white noise app. We shouldn't be getting ads if we bought the app and also have bought in app purchases. It's hard enough to follow a meal plan, if you have to jump through hoops and use multiple in and out of app sources just to record your points for the day, it becomes, much much harder. I've not used this for long periods just because I didn't want to deal with navigating through the amateurish maze that they call an interface. If I hadn't already bought it, I don't think I would.
