1. 5/5Extremely useful tool; wish there was a one time option for premium

   This is a great tool and having it has been game changing. I wish there was a one-time purchase option for the premium version, however. Unless one is added, I probably won’t be upgrading, but the free version is honestly pretty good. It has the functionality needed and that’s all I can ask. Thank you, devs, for putting out this app. Update: Hi, Wes. Thanks for the response. I hope you’re well. I did actually end up upgrading to the subscription yesterday. I do prefer one-time purchases, even when they’re substantially more expensive than a subscription, but I realized that I wanted to support the app and its development as it’s been incredibly valuable to me in spite of my disdain for subscriptions. (Looking at you, Adobe..) I think the value I’ve derived from even just the free version since installing it was worth the cost (and definitely more than the reasonable ten dollars per year that it is), let alone the premium features and potential for future updates. The premium features aren’t super necessary for my purposes, but I wanted to support anyways and they’re nice to have; I like the guideline function a lot. Thanks again, both for the response and for putting this app out there. :)

2. 5/5Life changing!

   I had been looking for an app for a head model, simply for complicated angels. When I stumbled across this, I saw the reviews and was a bit thinking that it would be another one of those “free” apps that you still have to pay for. Which, after I first downloaded it, sure, it could be seen that way, but it’s more than I was looking for and the free version is still useful! I had no idea that it came with free lighting sources! Oh my god a LIFESAVER! It has crashed on me once, but to be honest, I’m not doing much except messing with angels, if I were 100% creating a full model and didn’t save that would be sad, but it’s only happened once. Finding out that this app was created by a small artist is the highlight. Finding art resources made by an artist is becoming harder and harder and I was so happy to see it! I have never left a review for an app, but this deserves it. It’s obvious the amount of care went into this app, and when I get my money up and can buy the lifetime it’s over for everyone! Thank you so much for designing this app, and I highly recommend it to comic artists. I found the add on Pinterest if you’re wondering!

3. 3/5impression after some use

   a veryyyy useful tool, especially where environmental and local lighting is concerned. However, i paid for the full (a very reasonable price, btw, thank you for that) so that I can make use of the facial morphing features. To my dismay, the modifications are not as diverse as I had hoped. Even after heavy tweaking, the different combinations of features still look very much the same. I am a novelist and artist. None of my characters look the same. I wanted to create a 3D model of my characters so that i can have a reference tool on my ipad pro to use when i want to draw each of them from different angles. Maybe the devs could adjust it to include a wider selection of eye, jaw, ear, and head shapes. I know it’s a lot of work. Im also a programmer and developer (making a few games with unity, 3ds max, reallusion character creator, blender, etc) so i understand the difficulty and work that goes into it. Designing my own would take way longer than i want. I just want to pick up my ipad and draw. By no means is this a bad app. its GREAT for what it is. I just thought the paid version would offer more options than it does.

4. 5/51 year review: Fantastic app keeps improving

   About a year ago I spent a frustrating month going through all the different pose apps for iOS, hoping to find something a balance of good design and decent models. Maybe you're in that search now. It took me *ages* (and not a few dollars) to find Head Model Studio. I haven't looked back since. Fast forward a year, and the release of the expression feature has utterly blown me away. It's like doubling the value of an already incredible app. Even on a phone the controls are somehow both straight forward and able to provide fine grained control. I can't wait to see them on all the models. Wes, thank you so much - this is one of the best apps out there.

5. 5/5Very useful, fair price and no auto renew

   This app is wonderful for a beginner learning to do portrait work. It does have expressions (I have seen some reviewers saying they didn’t, but I found them just fine). You can turn the head every which way and change the light source every which way as well. You can turn on guidelines or keep them off. The only request I have is for them to add babies, toddlers, kids, older kids and teens. I realize that is a big request, but it would be so helpful to see the differences. I would also love to see full body models as well. I will stress though, it’s wonderful for what it already has, and how easy it is to use after a bit of fiddling. Thank you
