This app make photo management & organization on iOS and iPadOS actually usable & worked for the first time. It literally makes the default photo app on iphone from Apple looks like a joke (which it is). A must have for anyone loves to curated their photos: the tray features and the album-sort menu makes it effortless. There is an unsorted folder by default. The custom smart album features work beautifully and make up for the non-existent smart album on iOS. It works very fast & reliable) (In addition, there are even more filters in the smart album than the one on the macOS app from Apple if anyone wonders. So i dare to say this also makes the apple macos photo app also looks like a joke). There are many tiny small features but brilliant in the app that improves the QOL for the app show that the dev for this app actually care to perfect the app. It like they read my mind. A tiny feedback is that if the dev can make the sidebar on the ipad app stop auto-hiding & the ability to hide local album tabs on both platform it would have been a 12/10. 🙏🙏🙏👍👍

4/5Keeps freezing up until I have to delete the app
3.9/5 stars It can happen any moment. When I try to use the smart album feature, it will load and load and load and never end. It doesn’t matter if I close the app or turn off my phone, as soon as I open the app again, it’s still stuck loading. Basically frozen in processing mode. The only way to resolve this is by deleting the app entirely off my phone, which of course deletes all the data I had on the app, such as keywords and other smart albums, but there’s no other way around it. However, I still like using this app. It’s helping me get my photos better organized on the iCloud. But I can only use HashPhotos as a tool and not an actual photo storage app—not a great idea anyway in case you lose the app, because you might lose your photos. So when I redownload the app, I make sure to save my progress ONLY on the phone’s photo album.

Mostly great but one annoying issue persists: whenever I select images and add them to a folder, I get stuck with the annoying little green drop-down notification "added to..." and it completely locks up the app for like 5 seconds, so that you can't even scroll or do anything. If you're in the process of going through many images and adding them to appropriate folders, this annoyance is just compounded again and again. Couldn't we just eliminate the notification entirely and keep the app from locking up like that? I don't need to be notified of the action I've just taken again and again so explicitly. 4/5/25 update: still no improvement on the freeze/lag that happens every single time I move images to folders, and it's getting so bad I'm questioning whether I can deal with it and even keep using the app. Please make this a priority fix, it's been going on much too long. Also encountered a new weird glitch where if you're scrolling through and at any point decide to use a touch gesture to enlarge the thumbnail size to 1 row across, it always suddenly jumps way up in the folder to some other spot. I could be at the bottom of a folder highlighting several images I plan to add a tag to or move to another folder, but if I zoom in to the largest thumbnail size, bam I'm warped to some place way farther up in the scroll and have to search to find where I was before. Hopefully this can be addressed soon as well.

5/5Love the app! Wish I could tag people, though
Great app! I love being able to sort my photos by whatever niche categories I can come up with thanks to the keyword tags, but it would be nice if I could tag the people in the photos à la Facebook. I have a lot of group photos, and although I can list all the names of the people in the keywords, there's currently no way to indicate who's who. Less of a priority, but it would also be really useful to be able to group the tags in some way, e.g. all of the names together, instead of just having them all sorted alphabetically. It would also be cool if there was a way to have tags implicate other tags, e.g. if I tag a photo "apple", I could have it also automatically tag "fruit" and "food". Other than that, I really appreciate the developers' choice to offer a lifetime subscription instead of paying annually forever.

5/5Persistent crashing issue
Long time fan of this app, consistently impressed with not only the frequent updates and feature additions, but also the overwhelming care the developers clearly have for their app and all of its users. It's truly remarkable how responsive and considerate the developers are with every single reviewer, ESPECIALLY when nearly every other developer simply uses AI and/or copy and paste bot responses to address feedback. Seriously, bravo. Now, the reason for my review is that there has been a persistent crashing issue, as I stated in my title. It first started happening 5-6 updates ago and seemingly happens at random (sometimes while scrolling pictures or videos, sometimes while watching a video, sometimes while editing a picture or video, sometimes shortly after first opening the app, sometimes after the app's been open for a while). Unfortunately due to the random nature of the bug, I haven't been able to replicate the problem, nor can I be more specific as to when the problem first started. Honestly, with every update I just assumed the problem would be fixed, which is why I waited as long as I have to leave a review addressing it. Wish I could be more helpful. Last thing, and this is a very minor issue, but I've noticed that when videos loop while playing in full screen, the center play button/icon will randomly flash (appear and quickly disappear) in between loops. Seems to happen more regularly with shorter looping videos, but does still occur with longer videos too. Anyways, keep up the great work, devs. Your app puts the stock photos app and pretty much all other gallery apps to shame.

It literally makes the default photo app on iphone from Apple looks like a joke (which it is). A must have for anyone loves to curated their photos: the tray features and the album-sort menu makes it effortless. There is an unsorted folder by default. The custom smart album features work beautifully and make up for the non-existent smart album on iOS. It works very fast & reliable) (In addition, there are even more filters in the smart album than the one on the macOS app from Apple if anyone wonders. So i dare to say this also makes the apple macos photo app also looks like a joke). There are many tiny small features but brilliant in the app that improves the QOL for the app show that the dev for this app actually care to perfect the app. It like they read my mind. A tiny feedback is that if the dev can make the sidebar on the ipad app stop auto-hiding & the ability to hide local album tabs on both platform it would have been a 12/10. 🙏🙏🙏👍👍",

          "body": "3.9/5 stars It can happen any moment. When I try to use the smart album feature, it will load and load and load and never end. It doesn’t matter if I close the app or turn off my phone, as soon as I open the app again, it’s still stuck loading. Basically frozen in processing mode. The only way to resolve this is by deleting the app entirely off my phone, which of course deletes all the data I had on the app, such as keywords and other smart albums, but there’s no other way around it. However, I still like using this app. It’s helping me get my photos better organized on the iCloud. But I can only use HashPhotos as a tool and not an actual photo storage app—not a great idea anyway in case you lose the app, because you might lose your photos. So when I redownload the app, I make sure to save my progress ONLY on the phone’s photo album.",

          "body": "Mostly great but one annoying issue persists: whenever I select images and add them to a folder, I get stuck with the annoying little green drop-down notification \"added to...\" and it completely locks up the app for like 5 seconds, so that you can't even scroll or do anything. If you're in the process of going through many images and adding them to appropriate folders, this annoyance is just compounded again and again. Couldn't we just eliminate the notification entirely and keep the app from locking up like that? I don't need to be notified of the action I've just taken again and again so explicitly. 4/5/25 update: still no improvement on the freeze/lag that happens every single time I move images to folders, and it's getting so bad I'm questioning whether I can deal with it and even keep using the app. Please make this a priority fix, it's been going on much too long. Also encountered a new weird glitch where if you're scrolling through and at any point decide to use a touch gesture to enlarge the thumbnail size to 1 row across, it always suddenly jumps way up in the folder to some other spot. I could be at the bottom of a folder highlighting several images I plan to add a tag to or move to another folder, but if I zoom in to the largest thumbnail size, bam I'm warped to some place way farther up in the scroll and have to search to find where I was before. Hopefully this can be addressed soon as well.",

I love being able to sort my photos by whatever niche categories I can come up with thanks to the keyword tags, but it would be nice if I could tag the people in the photos à la Facebook. I have a lot of group photos, and although I can list all the names of the people in the keywords, there's currently no way to indicate who's who. Less of a priority, but it would also be really useful to be able to group the tags in some way, e.g. all of the names together, instead of just having them all sorted alphabetically. It would also be cool if there was a way to have tags implicate other tags, e.g. if I tag a photo \"apple\", I could have it also automatically tag \"fruit\" and \"food\". Other than that, I really appreciate the developers' choice to offer a lifetime subscription instead of paying annually forever.",

          "body": "Long time fan of this app, consistently impressed with not only the frequent updates and feature additions, but also the overwhelming care the developers clearly have for their app and all of its users. It's truly remarkable how responsive and considerate the developers are with every single reviewer, ESPECIALLY when nearly every other developer simply uses AI and/or copy and paste bot responses to address feedback. Seriously, bravo. Now, the reason for my review is that there has been a persistent crashing issue, as I stated in my title. It first started happening 5-6 updates ago and seemingly happens at random (sometimes while scrolling pictures or videos, sometimes while watching a video, sometimes while editing a picture or video, sometimes shortly after first opening the app, sometimes after the app's been open for a while). Unfortunately due to the random nature of the bug, I haven't been able to replicate the problem, nor can I be more specific as to when the problem first started. Honestly, with every update I just assumed the problem would be fixed, which is why I waited as long as I have to leave a review addressing it. Wish I could be more helpful. Last thing, and this is a very minor issue, but I've noticed that when videos loop while playing in full screen, the center play button/icon will randomly flash (appear and quickly disappear) in between loops. Seems to happen more regularly with shorter looping videos, but does still occur with longer videos too. Anyways, keep up the great work, devs. Your app puts the stock photos app and pretty much all other gallery apps to shame.",
