   Our recent stay was great, and everything is as pictured. We had a few glitches though. Some were fixed and some not. The response was professional, just wished we didn’t have to spend so much time trying to get ahold of them and go without for three days. We arrived Saturday early evening and noticed right away 2 of the 3 Adirondack chairs on the balcony were broken and unuseable. After calling and leaving messages and sending emails we were still not contacted until we called again on Monday and then did not have issues addressed until Monday after 5:30 pm. We had the happy stays app to contact them and the phone number on the email, they seemed to have not received either of these. The other issues were the TVs in bedroom and living room did not work, ice maker did not work and the bathroom fan did not work. On Monday evening we did get the chairs replaced and TVs working (tvs looked like they were plugged in but didn’t have a good connection and the cable wasn’t working so we had to make several calls to the cable company.) I would highly suggest having the balcony Adirondack chairs replaced with chairs that have a view above the railing. It’s such a waste of a beautiful view to have to sit and look through bars of the railing.

   This is a beautiful area and a beautiful place that’s peaceful and most of the time friendly people. What was horrible experience for us was, the home has safety issues with bunk beds, lights not working in the home, bedroom 1 dresser was leaning against the wall tilted upwards and could easily flip over (it’s not small), the sliding doors screen was completely off and we had to actually work on the back sliding door to make it work and was not told this was an issue when we made the stay, if you love the ocean breeze as we do Make sure it was fixed. If you have children staying in the bunk beds, Make sure they are fixed! My daughter was sitting on the bottom edge putting sunblock on and boards started popping under her!! Maintenance was aware and was told he would reach out to the homeowner to fix this. As he also realized it was unsafe! Our daughter is 11 and not a big girl at all! This is our third year staying at Sand Dollar and we have loved it so we keep coming back, this year was really hard with all the issues we had to deal with, we normally stay in building one and everyone was great in that building and also not one problem. This year it was booked so we tried building two thinking nothing of it and this was a problem from day one. Neighbors and all. It’s very unfortunate because we love coming back with our kids every year. Location is amazing and this year bummed us, I definitely recommend Sand Dollar but not this condo. Just my review.

   I booked with Cabins USA 9 months in advance. The cabin I rented had an indoor pool game room hot tub and a view of the mountains. The cabin I rented was removed from there inventory and I didn’t receive a phone call or a text I got an email which information on the up graded me about 3 months before my arrival which was to late to find another cabin at Christmas time. The cabin I rented was do for my daughters wedding. The new cabin had a outside pool in winter with small kids didn’t work. I asked about decorations they assured me the cabin would be decorated for the holidays but I guess we have different views because just a tree does not classify as decorations. Boxes of decorations in the living room does not count if they’re not up. The game room only had a couch and two beanbags for a group of 15 we didn’t even fit. Said it was a complete kitchen it was not. The upgrade cabin was a big upgrade disappointment. I stay in the area a lot and so does the rest of my family and we will never use Cabins USA again. They were not concerned about the fact they changed me the fact we was planning a wedding around the cabin we picked or anything the price was not changed or any compensation was made by them for nothing. I asked to talk with a manager and when I spoke to her and asked for her name was told that it was not needed. DO NOT RENT!!!! This is the best review I can give because I don’t want to say ugly things about how much my family time was ruined by this company. Please again DON’T RENT.

   Great view of the gulf - but unit has no where to hang up clothes - no closet, no hook etc. ☹️ Lacking in places to plug in electronics at the table / desk! One place to plug in by the sliding class door beside the bed. Lacking a place to put toiletries in the shower except on floor🙁 shower was very slippery as well. No lights over sink because the battery operated LED lights were not working. No directions on how to work TVs and remotes and no live channels. Patio furniture is a little lacking. When you sit outside on the patio you have to look through the rails to see everything. Also they sit so low to the ground - it is hard for people to get out of them. Also keep in mind everyone is not 6 foot tall so to get into bed you have to crawl onto the bed - no way to sit on it if you are under 6 feet tall! Seriously why do I have to take out my trash, you still have to clean the room!! Also make a place for the luggage trolley by each elevator. Inconvenient to walk to the front office area to get them! Been coming here for over 20 years and defiantly been better! Wondering if Sandcastle is in my future for next year.

   This is a very cute and neat cabin. Unfortunately, after walking up to Clingerman’s Dome we were ready to enjoy the jacuzzi. The bubbles are set on high and the jets are turned off and the controller knob is broke. The pipe is broke to control knob so they just bypassed it so the jets don’t work. The bubbles blow water up in your face and in your eyes and they hurt your skin if you get to close. Owner showed up and worked on ceiling during our stay. Was a very nice and funny man. We explained the issue to him and management who sent maintenance out to fix it. The owner refused. Said it had always been that way and was NOT going to fix it. Wife thought she would try the jetted tub in bedroom. It took 40min at least to fill up, for some reason there is no water pressure for tub but worse the hot water tank is to small to fill tub so she got to take a Luke warm bath, but the jets did work in it. The mattress is broke down in center so you find yourself sunk together. Made it hard for us to get a good nights rest. If you are looking for a relaxing jacuzzi or hot bath on a couples get away with some good rest this place will disappoint you and I wouldn’t recommend it. Management worked with us this cabin is no reflection on them only the owner who doesn’t want to invest in his cabin. It’s really too bad because it is one of the neatest and nicely decorated cabins I have stayed in and it wouldn’t take much to make it 5 stars all day long. Fix the jacuzzi or replace it, replace the mattress and get a hot water heater that will at least fill the tub.
