    GoodTask is an amazing adjunct to Apple’s Reminders. The capabilities the developer has managed in include are amazing, and the UI is spot-on, and it’s for this reason that I find myself using GoodTask often when I previously would have used a full blown Project Management system, and I have all the major players installed on my devices, and many of the minor ones... Capabilities in an app aren’t of much benefit if it requires 3, 4 or even more taps/swipes to get to them, so it’s a lot better to get something you need to remember into a system that you can rely on and know that by the time you get it entered, you won’t have forgotten the other stuff on your mind. This app’s support is also as good as you can get. Replies are not only prompt, but never like the “we don’t do it that way, and you don’t understand because you’re not as smart as we are” ones you frequently get when you make suggestions to the big players in the Task & Project Management apps space...

  2. 4/5Does a great job with adding much needed features while using the default reminders database

    Apple reminders is limited in some ways even though it has been getting better and better with each IOS release. This application uses the same reminders database but adds on layers and layers of customizations. That is good and bad as I feel at times I get overwhelmed within application with the overloaded amount of options. There is a 47 page manual on the use of application. If you have time to learn and understand all parameters of application then I feel you will get the best use and functionality out of it. For those that are just looking for a few tweaks to reminders this might be overkill and more confusing. With 3rd party reminder applications it’s going to be a challenge with trying to stay relevant with how much better Apple reminders has gotten and still try to keep the simplicity that people need.

    So feature-rich and customizable it’s crazy. Take the time to LEARN how to use the app and you’ll have a tool that is so powerful that it can do just about anything you throw at it. Set custom buttons on the task creation screen, configure context menus, create your own theme, handle events and to-dos in one place, take markdown notes, attach files and photos to your to-dos, and get things done using the Next screen. You can even time your tasks. I cannot say enough good things about this app. For reference, I bought lifetime & still donate each year via the subscription because the Dev works hard adding sooo many awesome features. The forum is active and really it just doesn’t get better. & I’ve tried (& bought nearly every app on the market, Things, Sorted, TickTick, etc, NONE compare!) Take some time to learn how to use the best to-do app available.

  4. 5/5Exactly what I’ve been searching for

    Let me start off my saying I NEVER buy apps that are over $0.99. At first I thought I wasted ten dollars, but once I figured out the settings I was able to utilize this app exactly the way I wanted to. My husband and I share family iOS reminders and calendars, but I wanted something more comprehensive for subtasks, and mainly recurring events so I could check off habits throughout the day without having to uncheck a full list every morning. But I also didn’t want to disturb his process and make him download a new app. The other thing I wanted was a place where I could see my calendar events and tasks all in one place, and once I figured out that I could turn off “separate calendar events,” all my boxes were checked. The smart lists were a bonus, as I didn’t understand when I bought it just how customizable they were. I have smart lists for every vantage point that I normally had to manually search in the native iOS app, and I feel like even though there was a little learning curve, it’s going to save me so much time moving forward.

  5. 1/5Good before iOS 13

    I bought this app 2 weeks before the new iOS 13 update came out and I loved the flexibility and additional features which iOS reminders did not have. Unfortunately with iOS 13 the app is rendered pretty much useless. I contacted the developer and the answer was “performance issues” and it gets “a little better” with iOS 13.1. The interim solution was for me to not use all my reminders lists (not a solution). Well I can say now that even with 13.1 update it is still basically useless and there is no firm plan on when they are going to resolve the problem. I rarely spend $10 on an app and now I feel like I was ripped off. Don’t waste your money on this until they have fixed the issues with iOS 13. UPDATE: At this point now 3 weeks later the app is still useless. My only option is to go back to Todoist which is a far superior app anyway, I just didn’t want to pay the $30 annual fee. I guess you get what you pay for. Wish the developer would give credit to those like me who unknowingly bought an app which was going to become worthless a few days later.

You can tap it or swipe up and down to change it. - Start and end dates can be set from the three-dot button in the top-right corner on iOS, or from the View Bar button on Mac. By default, they are automatically calculated from the first and last task. Dates are saved separately for each list. - Calendar events are shown for 6 months from today. - Task display options can be changed in Project View Settings. - Tap the + button to add a new task for that day. Long press it to add tasks, calendar events, or templates. ## Other Improvements - Matrix View: Quadrant colors can now be applied to the background, and a Clear Background option has been added. - Now View: Start Date is ignored when the Type: Date setting is not set to Advanced. - Various bug fixes and improvements.

    ## New Live Mode - Notifications received while GoodTask is open now appear in a compact panel with your configured snooze options. - Opening GoodTask from a task notification shows the same panel. - Snoozing starts Live Mode, with a dedicated panel floating above the View Bar. - Snoozing directly from a system notification also starts Live Mode. The panel appears when GoodTask is opened. - View task details, complete subtasks or tasks, hide the panel, or close Live Mode. - A matching Live Activity appears on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island, with task completion available directly from it. - Start Live Mode manually from the Smart Button by tapping the Live Mode control or swiping left. - Manual Live Mode is available while viewing a list and cycles through upcoming tasks and events scheduled for today. - After completing a task, or when an event ends, Live Mode advances to the next item and closes when nothing remains. ## Other Improvements - Lock screen widget: Hide overdue widget setting added.
