4/5Better than Blue Apron but needs some work
I’ve replaced my Blue Apron subscription with Good Eggs’ Weeknight Meal Kit, and in terms of ingredients, flavor, menu and dinner prep it is a major step up. However, the app could take some pointers from Blue Apron’s user experience on the app. On Good Eggs, the meals in your weekly kit are hard to find (requires several clicks through), and favorite recipes from the kit cannot be saved to your Favorites section. I realize this section might be meant for re-ordering items, but users (like me) may be using Good Eggs for more than just grocery shopping and could benefit from a user experience that also caters to folks who are looking for easy meal prep over grocery delivery. Overall, it’s a great alternative to Blue Apron but some customer experience elements could use a little work.

3/5Great service, buggy app
I was very excited to learn that Good Eggs started delivering to my area (Petaluma). I'm a fan from my days working in SF, and very much enjoy the selection and quality of products. It's a great option for high quality groceries, especially during this covid surge where I'm not comfortable going to the store. The app *looks* great. I love how it's organized, and the consistent product photography makes the whole experience feel premium and fun to shop. I also love that you can update your order after placing it, as I often add more items throughout the week. It takes the pressure off placing the order and makes me much less likely to abandon my cart. However, the app is way buggy. I'm hoping this is something they can get under control, because it can be frustrating at best and unusable at worst. For example, right now it's 10:40pm and I have until 11pm to add to my order, but it's telling me "We're sorry, no products were found." I'm also getting "unexpected fetch response status 500" when I try to view my basket. This is directly costing them money — and could also really turn off a first-time user. I'm a loyal user and will come back, but I would have spent more! I've also experienced bugs when selecting a delivery date, trying to view past orders, etc. To paraphrase the great Tyra Banks, I'm rooting for you, so I hope to see these issues worked out. Best of luck, Good Eggs team!

3/5Good service but declines to provide nutrition info
Good Eggs refuses to provide nutrition facts even when they’re available. They list the ingredients for people who have allergies which is great, but they do not photograph the nutrition label so people like me with medical conditions can’t easily determine what’s safe to consume (I have to monitor levels of various nutrient components). I have written to them a few times about this over the ~5 years I’ve been a customer and I always get the same response, “we don’t provide that now but maybe someday.” Because they could easily provide the info, it is a choice on their part not to, and I find this frustrating and not inclusive of people who need this information to make informed purchasing decisions. It seems like this would improve their business since a lot of the items they offer are off the beaten path, so nutrition facts help people decide if they want to try new products. Please prioritize including nutrition facts!

5/5GREAT EVERYTHING! 🙌🏽
This service is amazing. To all those people leaving bad reviews bc OF THE WAY THE APP WORKS ON THIER iPAD, get a life. I’ve used the service for 6 months and they’ve done an amazing job. Yes, I order off the website and not my phone, but that should be the least of these people’s concerns. • My priority is the product itself. The vegetables and meats are clearly fresh and vibrant. • Constant updates on seasonal produce and meat options. Huge selection (juices, dairy, fish, snacks, sauces) of local brands, farms, snacks and other items like Good Eggs sauces and cut vegetables (I suggest you learn to use a knife properly but in a pinch their products could save you time.) • Offer organic options as well as items for those with allergies. • Beer and wine! • You pick a pick up window of 2 hours for hour delivery. Yes, they have been late before. Yes, it’s inconvenient, but they are people, and people make mistakes. Life happens. They have always given a professional response and have offered me a credit. • Always packed properly so nothing is smooshed and perishables are kept cold. And they will take your old delivery boxes and ice packs on the next pick up. • A small $4 fee for each delivery to give workers a fair wage and (I’m assuming) health care, which I’m more than happy to pay. ✌🏽

1/5Just not worth the $
If you’re thinking about this, learn from my experience and think twice. I loved Good Eggs at first, and I was especially grateful for their service when we started shelter in place, but over the past few months, the service has significantly increased in cost while quality has degraded significantly. - Items regularly forgotten/left out of order, including key ingredients from meal kits. You will get refunded after a couple of weeks if you notice and contact customer service, but they don’t always refund the full price, and they only refund the cost of a single ingredient even if it means you can’t really use the rest of the meal kit. - Freshness has been a huge issue. Produce and prepared foods have an expiration date of one or two days after delivery and often times will go off before the printed date. Or it is delivered moldy. And this is expensive produce! - Delivery and good jobs fee have gone up like crazy. You used to get free deliver on orders over $60 and there was usually $5-8 for peak demand times and the “good jobs fee” that ensures they can pay employees fairly. This has ballooned to over $15 for each delivery. I know times are tough and I definitely want their employees to be paid well for providing an essential service, but there is no transparency as to where this is actually going. I would imagine their business has done pretty well in the pandemic, and this just feels like taking advantage of the current situation, which is pretty gross.
