   I've always been terrible at remembering people's birthdays and I can never figure out what to get them. I downloaded this app after making a resolution to be a better gift giver and it is so so helpful! I love how easy it is to add gift ideas and that I can see what events are coming up. Any time someone tells me they like something, I make a note of it in this app. Things that could be improved: sometimes the app has a bit of trouble pulling info from the website (its easy to customize though, just takes extra time). It would be nice to change the interface appearance (colors, etc), but hey its a free app and functional! Also when I don't know someone's birth year, it automatically titles the event, "Mary's 1st birthday", which is obviously not correct. Other than those minor things, it's a wonderful app!!

2. 1/5Way too many issues, now I've wasted money

   I've enjoyed using this app for the past couple of years to keep track of gifts, the status of them, how much I've spent, and gift ideas. However, it has way too many issues now to really be helpful and I've now reached the last straw. I've always experienced an issue with the app crashing the 1st time I try to import a gift idea from a website. Today, it seemed to work the 2nd time I did it each time, and I spent ages adding a bunch of gift ideas, filling in the information, and saving them... or so I thought. When I went back into the app, NONE of them were there. I was very frustrated but wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt and thought I might have better luck and it would be fast to try to re-enter them through my computer and then just sync them to my phone. In order to sync, you have to purchase the app, so I did. However, now the login functionality DOES NOT WORK AT ALL on either my laptop or phone. I enter my login info and click submit and it does nothing. I cannot log in and have effectively wasted $4. I will be asking for a refund from the App Store.

3. 5/5This app is wonderful!

   I’ve been using this app since 2015 and the developers are responsive and keep it updated. It’s missing a couple of little things that I’d like to see but all in all it’s still 5 stars. The safari extension is a huge timesaver that automatically adds an item online as a gift or idea for a specific person/event. I love that you can see pictures of the gifts in the list. I like having everyone’s bday, anniversary, etc not just holidays and be able to save ideas for them. I love the archiving feature so I can return back to previous years and see what I’ve given before. The notes section on gifts allows me to note where I’ve hid the gift... All around awesome. It keeps me sane and organized.

4. 4/5Best Gift Planning App, Even With Its Bugs

   I don’t know if this app still even gets updates / bug fixes but I’m really hoping it stays around forever because it is my holy grail every holiday season. I’ve used it for three years now and even despite its bugs, it’s by far the best gift planning app I’ve used. I love being able to share links directly to the app which then imports the gift for me, and I love that you can track the status of the gift all the way from when it’s an idea, to when you purchase it, when it’s shipping, when you receive it, when you wrap it, and when you gift it. I love being able to add all the people in my life into the app and have it automatically keep up to date with whose birthdays are up next, and I love the filtering options for when you actually view all the gifts. The budgeting is also super helpful, and I love that I get a view of how much money has been spent per person since I can easily get carried away! I have a list of bugs that I’d be happy to pass on to the developers (if this app is still worked on) but even with the bugs, I am a faithful and adoring user!! I have tried every comparable gift planning app on the App Store and none even come close to how useful this one is. I’m someone with ADHD whose love language is gift-giving, so being able to organize all my gift ideas in one place is invaluable. I truly cannot put into words how much I appreciate this app and how perfectly it fits my needs. I am over the moon that GiftPlanner exists and so happy to be using it. Thank you to the developers for building out a great user experience and wonderful app!! I’ll try sending an email with the bugs I’ve noticed and some feature ideas/requests, but even if this app never gets another update, I will be a user for life.

5. 3/5Only app of its kind, but problems

   I’ve used this app for several years. It’s the only gift app I’ve found that tracks for events other than Christmas, tracks budget, able to import from a URL Two years ago, my data of 4 or so years got wiped somehow and I couldn’t find the backup. Even though I have a pro upgrade and have mine set to sync (logged in with my email address), that didn’t help restore data either. I am using the app again and just starting from scratch since every other app I’ve tried has such limited features. I added a few contacts and gifts and tried syncing with my iPad, but that wiped the data from my phone, so I just do a backup to file every day when I’m using it often. There is no family sharing ability with a pro account. Also, I created a passcode to hide certain people a long time ago, but have since forgotten the password and there doesn’t seem to be a way to reset it. It would be great if there was an option to print your lists Even with these shortcomings, it’s the only app I’ve found that’s as thorough in features. Hopefully Andrew will get the issues resolved. I have email info for him since I beta tested years ago, so I have tried contacting him that way. 🤞🏻
