   I am happy to amend my previous 3-star review. The Dev added the wave file import feature that this Ap was begging for. My only other problem was a couple features that were not working (chorder and hold functions). The rapid response from the Dev. was that answered the problem being related to MPE being enabled. Turn that off in "preferences" and ...bingo, problem solved. Based on the rapid response from the Dev. I have no doubt that this will be fixed soon enough. Even without those features, this Ap is breaking new ground. Combining FM with Granular and subtractive synthesis is a great idea that has been too long in coming. The only thing I can think of that it really needs now is a good manual. The current on-line manual does a good job of describing features but tells us little about how to use them. But this problem only applies to the less obvious functions, as most of the Ap will be self-explanatory to those who are already familiar with subtractive, FM and granular synthesis. I would lobby for future development to include a non-chromatic keypad-style keyboard which will allow users to create or select fixed scales and modal scales. After that, it will be hard to add anything to this great synthesizer Ap.

2. 5/5iOS sure spoils the creativity junkies

   This thing slays. Don’t be intimidated by it, ignore the nitpicking reviews, and don’t let thoughts ruin the experience. Dive right in and enjoy the ride. First timers or wise sages this synth has reward. If you enjoy messing with sound or mastering frequency or whatever the deal you got going on….. this synth is fun, adventurous, and just sexy. This app tech has been a gift, it’s cheap, capable, and with all the criticism and nitpicking reviews most developers really develop the heck out of them. Good times. So yeah, I dig it, I bet cash money you may as well(cash money is metaphorical but creating cool audio is not with this bad boy on your pad). The glitch’s from the heart pack sold separately is particularly cool to me because I dig making Autechre/skinny puppy type tracks and taking the presets and tweaking them about gives me great foundation for otherworldly IDM/glitch/hip hop tunes. Very cool.

   It’s hard to find something that stands out in the iOS environment. There’s just too much good stuff. However, I have a fondness for this company, they are really engaged and creative! For me, the presets made out of Foley samples make this app. Not only is it encouragement to make your own, it’s also an acknowledgment that not everyone wants to learn everything about every app. Sometimes it’s all about finding something easy to use that speaks to you.    I use a lot of different synth apps and granular is something that I have recently gotten more involved with. I have all of Imaginando’s apps and each one is amazing to work with. FRMS stands out from most of the granular I have used with ease of use and the different add-on packs as well as being able to drop in my own samples and the continuity of creation with the desktop app where I can pick up where I left off on my i-devices.

5. 4/5Doesn’t work over Bluetooth. Expansions cost too much.

   I try to play this over my Bluetooth amp for a simple drone and it never works. You can’t disable the microphone either. Its automatically on but not really on it just gives a bunch of feedback without picking up a signal. Still to many bugs with this software. Audio won’t play over headphone jack either. Please fix the mic issue. There is no mic off button so the app screams and feeds back into itself immediately upon launch.

   does nothing. I installed it on my device(s23), I open it, it never makes a sound no matter what I do. I use other audio apps on this device such as cubasis without any trouble, and i use imaginando plugins on my PC DAW, but this doesn't seem to do anything.
