   There are notifications almost EVERY single day about yet another recall, or an update on an existing recall. Most of these I’ve NEVER heard about on television, on the radio or anywhere else for that matter. Which is VERY concerning! By the time we do hear about them, we’ve already ingested the food or given it to our children. I make a point to check this app before grocery shopping. I do have notifications on. This app includes a lot of information about lot numbers and dates of the recalls, a map of the states that are affected, photographs of the products themselves, the reason for the recall, whether it’s contaminants, undeclared, allergens, or other poisonous bacteria. It even has the human/pet statistics about how many have reported getting sick, have been hospitalized and unfortunately died from the recalled products. This is possibly the most important app you’ll ever download! It’s FREE! What have you got to lose…besides your LIFE?

2. 5/5Wonderful app during pregnancy and beyond!

   Truly a life saving app for those expecting a baby and beyond. During my pregnancy, it was so helpful to see what items are having a listeria/salmonella outbreak so I could avoid them. The app is much faster at communicating outbreaks than the USDA. I was craving a sandwich and my doctor said the possibility of listeria is low (plus, my friends also ate deli meat during pregnancy) but I’m so grateful for this app that I didn’t eat a sandwich since it swiftly notified me about the boar’s head deli meat listeria outbreak. I also signed up for the USDA email notification but this app is much faster with updated info and notification. Sincerely grateful to the trio who are managing this app

   I love this app because it’s so easy to use. Another thing about this app. It will keep me informed about products that haven’t been taken off the shelves. This way I can show the manager or supervisor about the problem and get things taken care of immediately. I wish the government would keep there noses out of this app. Do to the fact when the government alerts me to a problem it’s usually several days later. At my age it’s hard to read the governments small print when they send out an email notice. This app sends out a notice right away the same day of when it’s supposed to be pulled out off shelves or freezers.

   With so many recalls coming about in the last year or so, I have become personally much more wary of staying updated on what is going on with our food! This app makes it very convenient and easy to stay updated on the latest recalls, making me feel much safer and more informed as a consumer. Definitely a must have and a great resource to use! This app is easily accessible and very easy to read, which may not always be the case for everyone digging through the long lists and categories on the FDA’s website. A good source for condensed, pertinent and relevant data for recalls that could affect you, your family or people you may know.
