  1. 5/5Thank God for the Frederick- News-Post!

The best compliment that this paper can have is that Timothy Snyder, an Eastern European historian thinks local newspapers are one of the most important components to the health of a free and fair democracy. And I agree. How else would I find out about what the Mayor, my Aldermen or my County Council or School Board are facing? How else would I find out about local businesses? Many places in the US are in a news desert. Over 2000 local newspapers have gone out of business since 2009. I am grateful everyday that I have a local paper to read!

  2. 4/5Informed

I moved from the area but still enjoy reading the NP. It has enough National news for me, and covers local news nicely. I think it does a good job trying to keep the citizenry informed. However, I do not like the new combined Sat. Sun. paper. Events that happened on Saturday are old news by the time articles appear in the paper on Monday. Where I live now, the comics are printed in color everyday. Why can’t the NP do this, too? Also, my paper here has 2 crosswords, boggle, jumble, cryptogram, and Sudoku. Could the NP add a few more games? Thank you for being Frederick’s paper and always trying to improve.

  3. 4/5Almost like the physical newspaper

App works well, but sometimes I can’t get the page to stabilize where I want to read it. Seems to scroll 2 pages at a time, making it funky to grab one to read then continue. Can’t quite figure out how to get magnification to work, particularly to stabilize, too. But I’m mostly reading things the day-of, rather than a day later, and often in the morning versus the evening when we had to settle for mail delivery. I’ve come into the 20th century, I guess, maybe there’s hope for the. 21st.

  4. 5/5Quick News Post!

I’m really enjoying my News Post app because I can look up articles that I’ve read in my paper and send them off to friends and family! The only thing that I would suggest is that I would love to be able to search archives on my app because sometimes I remember a great story that I wanna go back and pull and send to someone or print out for myself and I can’t seem to do it on this app. But otherwise – thumbs up!!

  5. 5/5Daily reading

Each morning I wake, make my tea and spend my quiet time with the Frederick Newspaper. It is so enjoyable for me to catch up on the daily news around the county. I am a transplant fromNY and so enjoy my daily routine. Really miss the Sunday paper but I understand the expense involved. I have called the paper several times and have always been met with lovely people(mostly women) who helped me. Joanie Poddo
