   This product is absolutely amazing. I have received it as a Christmas present and I’ve taken it everywhere with me since you can make it 24 hours to return a roll of film or you can make it instant so you can have instant gratification or the process of waiting it is a must have

2. 3/5Nice concept but misses the mark for me

   I’m old enough to have lived through the age of 35mm film thru the rise of digital and the recent resurgence of interest in film and film like simulations. I like the overall concept of Flashback with a few caveats. I have to sign into my WiFi every time I unload a “roll” which is a pain. Each “roll” takes 24 hours to develop. I have gotten real film developed in much less time. 27 exposures feel like an odd number (traditionally it was 24 or 36). I don’t like how the film has to be developed on their servers and then you have to download it. Feels like an unnecessary step. That being said, I can’t recommend the investment when there are alternatives that remove the unnecessary 24-hour hold, give you more shots per round, and are comparable in sustainability.

3. 3/5Would be 3.5 if I could

   To cut straight to it: the processing time is egregious. That’s the most glaring con, personally. I do enjoy the outcome (the emulations are spot on, specifically with the flash), but having to wait a full 24hrs and not a minute sooner to see how your shots turned out is wild- even by film standards. Drop that time down to 2 or 3 hours and it becomes.. respectable. The overall premise is good, but you can be present and in-the-moment without having to wait nearly 36* hours to see the photos (*if you’re like me and forget that the processing doesn’t start automatically, and is in fact a totally separate action from ‘unloading’ the film, lol).

4. 3/5Trouble updating firmware

   I received my camera a few weeks ago, and had a few successful rolls developed. The 48 hour wait was more than expected, but it sounds like they are working on that and the actual photos were just what I wanted - no complaints there! However on my most recent roll, it is prompting me to update firmware before unloading. On WiFi it says successful, but then just prompts to update again. When I try to connect to the device to update, it just spins and spins. Would love to have this fixed so I can unload my film and use the camera again!

5. 4/5Simple and can’t wait for updates

   Loving the simple use and it’s encouraging me to take more photos. At the moment, home WiFi network seems to be bugged but camera WiFi transfer works great. An in-app queue counter for the transfer would be great. A way to queue different rolls or have them going concurrently would also be great. I get the point, but there would be nothing stopping you from dropping off several rolls to be developed from a real film camera. Perhaps a limited amount of 1hr photo rolls per month?
