1. 5/5Pretty good app but it has some issues.

   I like this app a lot but there are a few things that make it unusable for me. First, whenever I open the app 50% of the time it actually lets me login and 50% of the time it says network connection error even after multiple attempts. Second, is in the recent update they took away the option to see how much I’ve made all time from a stock which is something that I really liked about the app before. Another thing I wish they didn't change in the update was the overall layout. I liked the layout before and now it seems like its less user friendly. Unless it gets some kind of new update I'm just going to switch over to E*TRADE. UPDATE* After a couple updates this app has gotten ALOT better and I really like it now. It runs perfect now and I no longer have any problems. Changing my rating from 3 stars to 5 :)

   I wanted to open a small account and practice a new options strategy w/o incurring a bunch of fees. That is what started me on Firstrade. I was willing to learn a new UI to do this. After opening and easily funding my account, I ran into the issue of not being cleared for the strategy (credit spreads). I called their customer service to find out why, because my TDA account lets me sell credit spreads. While the customer rep wasn’t outright rude, he was very abrupt and sounded angry. It was an easily solved issue (they did eventually approve me) but their customer service felt so off, I just decided to do this strategy in my TDA account. I initiated an ACH request to get my funds transferred back to my bank account. I figured it would take 5-10 business days and kinda forgot about it. Well, 3 weeks later I realized they hadn’t transferred my money and actually rejected the ACH. Why? Because they wanted a copy of my identification AND bank statement to release my money. The same bank account that the funds came from. They didn’t need these items to take my money, but they need them to give me my money back?? After talking to their customer service, and being told someone would contact me, I just decided to send them these things to get my money. Now, yes I sent them my ID and only the front page of my bank statement but I was told by their customer service rep that that would be fine. Apparently not. They need to see my whole bank statement to send me MY money. Ridiculous. It’s been 2 months and I’m still trying to get my money transferred back. This company is a scam.

3. 1/5CRIMINAL ACTIVITY !!!

   So I’ve used almost every reputable trading app out there from E*Trade, Fidelity, Schwab, and others. Jan 2021 last year I decided to open an account with this company and downloaded the app. Soon after, I transferred over a few thousand dollars to try it out and see how I like it. After about a month or so I decided to transfer money back to my bank account, and that’s where the trouble starts!!! Giving them my DOB, SS#, Drivers License, and other identifying info from the beginning wasn’t good enough to be considered as a “verified customer” and Firstrade refused to give me my money back and blocked the ability to transfer back to the same bank account it came from !!! Firstrade then began to ask me for very personal and sensitive info like copies of my bank statements and other items!! FYI…. I’ve been trading for over 25 years and NEVER has any company ever asked me for those types of sensitive documents EVER !!! At that point, that’s when I figured out that this was “deliberate by design” to keep customers money longer. I ended up having to contact SEC, FINRA, Attorney General, and my local congressman for help !! Which I should’ve NEVER have had to do to begin with 😡 Only then did Firstrade fold and immediately contact me to return my money!! These people belong in jail !! 🤬🤬 You’ve ALL been warned!!!

4. 1/5Big no go for me. Rookie made app. Not option friendly

   ly been around a year or 2. If you’re in options, trader or a quick in and out trader don’t even waste your time with this one. When you click in to see the options, it tells you what the price of that stock is at the time you clicked it, and I could hardly ever get any refresh of the current price unless I backed out completely and then search the stock and then came back in to see what it refresh to. That was one of the most frustrating things, but there were so many other things. Another was that I couldn’t figure out how to get a line graph or an area graph on my phone and less I held the phone sideways and clicked the expand button. That was super annoying. I like to toggle between graphs without jumping in and out of different screens. It was just a very rookie made app. Wasn’t impressed at all. I gave it a good 3 weeks while waiting for another brokerage to finish closing and all the sudden my account was closed for a good faith violation….took whatever money I had into multiple options plays and customer service just said nothing can be done. That’s it. You can’t use the app anymore. Which I didn’t mind much as only had $300 in when trying it out. But just a really odd way of handling things.

5. 1/5Criminals!

   FIRSTRADE does whatever they feel like doing! The customer support is terrible quite possibly the worst ever! I’ve been trading for about 4 years now and have used many other apps ..E*trade, fidelity , public , Webull , moomoo and others , and this is the only app I’ve had a problem with! They automatically gave me a margin account when I specifically opened the account as a cash account and made sure it had less than $500 but they made the account a margin account anyway?? Although you can’t have margin if you have under $1000 (I thought it was under $500) ok so why would they make it a margin account? So I had them change it to a cash account so that I wouldn’t have to worry about day trading options! But they’ve had many excuses why I can’t day-trade (this has been going on for over 2 months now) So now there is no excuse but still I can’t day trade ? I have a cash account with less than $500 which was designated for me to trade options ($500 is what I am willing to lose) Yet I still can NOT trade $SPY options (dated for that day) asinine THIS APP IS RIDICULOUS THEY ARE NOT FRIENDLY OR NICE AND they have not done anything to accommodate my wishes . IM CONTACTING SEC FINRA AND anyone else that may be able to help me! I’m trying to get my money out but that’s been made difficult as well! Apparently when you open account with them they aim to keep your money and have no intention to have you leave with that money! THERE ARE SO MANY OTHER APPS THAT ARE WAY MORE USER FRIENDLY and are not outta ROB you of your capital ! THEY ARE NO GOOD! I want to give them ZERO for star rating but there is no such rating ! DONE WITH YOU FIRSTRADE ( You may want to higher NICE people & teach them to treat your customers with care and respect!
