1. 4/5Great video editor - terrible camera

   So this is intended to be a vertical video editor which it does well, as well as standard sideways phone video editing. The editor is easy, intuitive and packed with nearly endless combinations of features and effects! Trimming, video speed, background audio, audio editing, etc are all there as well as features that go beyond your basic video editor app on iOS. Pro subscription is very flexible, offering by the year, by the week, and if you so please, a one time flat fee for lifetime purchase! Now as stated, this excels as a video editor, but it’s execution on a camera recorder is poorly designed and lacking in many needed features. Not sure about most users but I experience lagging everytime I use their camera recorder, and even sometimes the app hangs up and shuts-down. Definitely needs manual controls (exposure, focus, white balance, etc) and more stable shooting, possibly image stabilization features akin to ProCam 6, etc. if Filmr can be fixed in that department then it’s a guaranteed 5 out of 5 stars!

2. 5/55 Star Title-worth getting

   Hello I’ve been using Filmr for 8 months now and I even got the premium, but this app can’t satisfy me. I chose a 5 star rating because this app does everything that you think + more, but it takes a long time for everything to load... if I make just over a 5 minute video it takes an hour to download. Alright this is the GOOD stuff about the app- easiest app to edit, you can choose from so much stuff already in the app, and premium is not completely needed ( I bought premium because as I said this is a 5 star app. By when I said you can choose from anything this is what I mean: if you wanted to make an AR video this app has Pandas to Santa to choose from. Another example would be a variety of songs you can choose any song you want for the background. Lastly, you can choose from a bunch of animated stickers, but really from GIPHY. Ok one more thing to add... there should be a way to spread out songs. 5 star rating the app is worth a get even if you don’t want premium. Update: I found it much faster to load things and I like the update. I’m so glad that my things are loading 75% faster. Another idea I have for this app is that you should do a green/blue screen. I feel I’ve explored must of the app, but I couldn’t seem to find that.

3. 5/5Love it! It’s exactly what I was looking for

   I’ve been looking for an app where I could put audio over my videos. I had been using Instagram for it previously but it seems to have just updated and made their quality even worse for video making. This app allows background noise from the original video, doesn’t take away quality, has the option to save right to your camera roll without a water mark, and has many other super cool features! Downside: I can’t find the search bar for different songs, so I’m forced to pick whatever is given to me. There are, however, many many songs and I am not limited to a handful. No subscription required.

4. 1/5Too many bugs - wasn’t able to finish video

   It seemed like this was going to be easy to use, but the bugs and glitches prevented from even being able to finish the video. While trying to edit, the app kept closing out by itself over and over again. I tried working slower on the app, give time in between, making sure my phone was updated and so on, but nothing helped. So I would open the app (again) and try to pick up where I left off. After an hour of this, I finally had everything loaded and edited how I wanted. So then I tried to export the video, it would look like it was going to work, then the app would automatically close when it was at 96%. It eventually wouldn’t even let me click “export” and did nothing. So then I tried closing out of the app to reopen it (on purpose this time) and then allllll of my work was deleted. Very frustrating. There are A LOT of other apps that are comparable in abilities, price and ease of use, but they actually work. Please fix the bugs/ glitches, or at the very least set better expectations with what the user experience will be.

5. 1/5So many frustrations!!!

   Ok, so I downloaded this app hoping that it could be an alternative to iMovie, or even better. When I started making my film, I noticed a few things right away. If you added another clip it would end up at the end, despite having selected where I wanted it to appear. You also can’t preview the clips that you want to add, resulting in random guessing of which clips were which. The music selections that you could get for free were very limited, as well as the fonts. Not to mention, premium is $5 A WEEK! That is about $1820 PER YEAR FOR A MOVIE/FILMING APP. THAT IS RIDICULOUS!!!!! Anyways, on with my rant. Then, I decided to just download a bunch of the clips at the same time so that it would be less of a hassle. (SPOILER ALERT: it was WAY more of a hassle...) It was taking SO long so I left it for a while to load. When I checked back on it, my iPad had turned off, so I went back in and it took SO LONG to reopen my project. AFTER ABOUT 3 HOURS (more like half an hour BUT STILL!!!) I finally got into my project to find... ALMOST HALF OF MY CLIPS GONE!!!!! A little caption popped up and said: “These clips have been deleted from your device.” Naturally, I checked my camera roll to find that all the clips were there. Then, after a painstakingly long wait to reopen my project, I tried to reinsert the clips back into it. It TOOK FOREVER, and after the 3rd clip that I tried to replace to no avail, I gave up. I REALLY REALLY HOPE THAT THE DEVELOPERS SEE THIS REVIEW BECAUSE I REALLY LIKE THIS APP, I REALLY DO, But I hope you fix these things before anyone else has to be frustrated like me. Also, I ended up using iMovie, which TOOK LIKE A 4TH OF THE TIME TO MAKE THE WHOLE THING WHILE THIS APP TOOK MUCH LONGER TO JUST MAKE THE BEGINNING. Plus, iMovie is ACTUALLY free.
