   I have a pretty easy time using it, but i mainly only ever use it for storing files i need to send between my ipad and my computer. I wish there was a way to change how you want the auto-naming to work. I upload photos from procreate in bulk to it sometimes, and a lot of times have the files all names the same thing. My issue with the naming is that with how it is currently, it does Name-1 Name-2 Name-3 and so on. This is all fine, but sometimes i am uploading a lot to tranfer to my computer and use in a program where the naming has to be formatted more like Name Name2 Name3. Its easy enough to go through and delete the dash between the name and number until youre uploading more than just a few, like i have been. And on top of that, if i have to upload in batches, instead of Name-1 Name-2 Name-3 for the first batch then Name-4 Name-5 Name-6 for the second batch, it ends up going Name-1 Name-2 Name-3 for the first batch and Name-1 2 Name-2 2 Name-3 2 for the second batch! It doesnt make any sense as to why it would follow that naming! So then instead of just having to go back and delete the dash between the name and number for each, i am then forced to just straight up rename them to have the correct number in the first place! It gets really frustrating when trying to store files in a certain format for big projects! If they had a way to change how items being uploaded were automatically named, this app would be completely fine to me. But there is basically no customization whatsoever for it.

2. 1/5The worst app in iOS

   Ok let’s start. I have all my photos & videos on iCloud. Not to photos, but to files. Why? I will let you know after. Let’s focus on the files app now. After you open a video or a photo or whatever you want to open, this app, files app, download the file to the phone, to have easy access for it real quick if you wish to open it again, and here is the problem. I have 2tb iCloud, I have a lot of content there, and on iPhone storage, the iCloud size is 153GB. Why apple? Why I don’t have access to unload the files inside the files app? Why I can’t clear everything with one button? Why I can’t use multi selection to unload the files and you only give me the option to do it one by one? And why when I unload a file by typing remove download on the file, the iPhone storage dosnt be updated with the new size on my device? Now, about the photos app and the optimization, no I don’t want to have this option. Because this option keep on the iCloud the real size and on the device give you a mini version of the file, and this is to bad for editing video and photos, because you end up editing photos and videos with compression and not the full resolution. So I want to have all my files to files (iCloud) but to have the option to remove it from my phone (not the cloud). Until then I will go back to google drive, better choice and dosnt make mess on my device. Too disappointed.

3. 1/5Remember Windows 3.1? The Files App Can Reduce iPad stability to Windows in 1990.

   Was this app antagonistically tested with external storage devices containing or servers with more than 100 files and sub folders? Experience suggests not! And if external storage devices presented a challenge to the Files app, SMB support seems is just jello thrown against the wall with hopes to stick. It gets worse, network, server or SMB failures aren't confined to the Files app. Once Files stumbles (don't expect an error message), any app, an app doesn't even have to be using external storage, can succumb to freezes. And you can't graciously back your way out, restarting the victimized app(s) does help; I dismounting the server does not resolve (the Files app is usually frozen itself); restarting the server does not resolve; restarting the Files app does not resolve. Restarting the iPad seems the only "dependable" resolution. I doubt one could implement a meaningful real world production implantation dependent upon Files. And before I forget, how did anyone with meaningful computing experience overlook support for aliases on external storage? This wasn't on a check list of file operations to check? The alias is there, but on the iOS device it is useless.

4. 1/5Major regret trusting iCloud

   It what has to be a heartbreaking and broken trust with Apple and its systems, iCloud is the worst. Do not buy into it, do not trust it, it’s only good for one thing, accessing documents across across Apple products, that’s it. It DOES NOT save files, it is NOT a storage drive as it claims, it DOES NOT have backups as they claim, it DOES NOT keep you as a consumer in mind. I learned the hard way and trusted the Apple Store tech people and believing that, considering my MacBook folders and information are all “saved” and “stored” on iCloud that it was okay to delete off my MacBook because it’s “stored” on the “cloud”. NOPE!!!! If you delete and empty that trash can you’ll realized you’ve also deleted and emptied that from iCloud Drive. I was under the impression that is was similar to One Drive and Dropbox, where you’d have to go into those storage apps to actually delete documents if you wanted. I am no longer able to recover 7 months of work and data I placed in those folders and my trust of Apple workers in store or online is gone. They are not geniuses OBVIOUSLY and I’m sure I know more than they do, especially now. It is just so disappointing and extremely upsetting knowing that I’ve lost an important folder because of misguidedness of these workers. 🤯😳😭😭 DO NOT USE OR WASTE MONEY PURCHASING iCloud….its a con by Apple to “believe” they have great and competing products. They’re good at developing tech but not products that support it like other tech companies. This is a major disappointment to relying on Apple…🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

5. 1/5Broken screenshot files?

   Bad creepy “bug” where I will take a screenshot of my homescreen or an internet or video game page, and save it to PHOTOS library app, and for some reason, it will sometimes automatically copy it to my Files folder, without asking me and without my permission. Not for every screenshot mind you. Just seems like the ones apple wants to spy on me for, like a news article I read or something. I know I didn’t click save to files, but it shows up there anyway, and it slows down my ability to save actual files, because it just forever “uploads” on an endless loop of “waiting to upload,” keeping files I actually want to copy or download at the back of the queue. When I click “delete this file” for the screenshots, it says “file unavailable.” The only way to get rid of them, is to offload the app, turn off my device, restart my device, and redownload the app. Once I’ve done that, I have that queue cleared, but there’s still one broken screenshot that won’t go away but at least it’s not in the queue. Can’t be deleted either though. What a frustrating bug, and frankly it seems obvious apple is using the files app to spy on people. Sickening.
