  1. 5/5There seems to be a process problem within ezCater...

I wish this were an isolated event, because I like the ease of using EZ cater. However, AGAIN, today, I have a caterer that didn’t show for lunch, DESPITE accepting the order and DESPITE getting a text this morning that my lunch delivery was OK. When the EZCater rep called the caterer, the caterer seemed to not know they had a lunch. I can accept that perhaps the caterer may have forgotten or was disorganized and that is their fault. What I can’t understand, though, is how I get confirmation that my lunch is okay if the caterer isn’t actually contacted that morning and providing actual confirmation! This is not an isolated incident, unfortunately. It has happened at least 5 times in the last couple of years. In my 20 years within the industry, I didn’t have this happen 5 times in all the years combined before using ezCater! I think it’s time I broke up with ezcater. It’s rude to the offices I call on and ends up making ME look bad. *** UPDATE***- I had the opportunity to talk directly with the caterer and realized that it was ENTIRELY their fault. Here is what I have determined... some caterers are just DISORGANIZED and so ezCater can be hard for those caterers to stay on top of their bookings. I’ve started booking my lunches closer to the date to at least attempt to avoid the lunch getting forgotten about by the caterer. I’ve been pleased with ezcater’s response every time I have had a problem.

  2. 5/5Totally a “if I could give 0 stars”...situation

“Oh Crumbs, an error has occurred please try again”. If I had a nickel for every time I got that message with this app. I’ve reported that not only does the app NEVER WORK on my phone, it also Never works on my iPad, AND I can’t access the website via the internet. The response? It seems to only happen to me. I find that unbelievable. I’ve been able to place literally a few orders over the years because it it so glitchy and unreliable. Those reward points that sound so great...? Well, mine expired because I couldn’t place orders to get to a threshold to earn enough to cash out! And I’m ordering, just not through EZCater because IT NEVER WORKS! I am 20+ years in Medical sales. I spend a lot and I can’t ever get this service to work. On a side note, a teammate used them for a joint call we did-caterer never showed to a nursing staff meeting of 30 people. They didn’t get dinner because of EZC. I try it again every few months to see if it’s improved, but alas, I should just give up!

  3. 3/5Another driver review

As an Elite driver for ezCater, I’m deeply committed to performing on-time, safe deliveries for corporate clients, handling orders that can exceed $2,000 in value. I’ve invested significantly in my setup—reliable insulated bags, carts, and a vehicle suited for trips over 10 miles—to ensure every delivery meets the high standards expected of catering work. However, I’m feeling increasingly frustrated as my earnings have dropped by nearly 50% compared to last year. For these large $2,000+ orders, I’m often seeing a base pay of just $4 to $10, with tips that are either nonexistent or as low as $10, which doesn’t align with the level of care and effort I put in. I strive to deliver a premium experience, which includes setting up orders and maintaining a professional appearance, but the compensation feels more like what I’d get for a standard delivery job. It’s also challenging to see other drivers arrive without the right equipment or professional approach, which I worry impacts the trust clients have in the platform. I’ve worked hard to achieve Elite status and ensure every delivery is flawless, but it’s difficult to feel supported when my pay doesn’t reflect that dedication, and the market includes drivers who aren’t prepared for catering work. I’m hopeful ezCater can find ways to better recognize the specialized work Elite drivers like me provide. Compensation that matches the scale of these orders, along with stronger standards for catering drivers, would go a long way in helping me continue to deliver the quality I’m passionate about. I want to keep partnering with the platform, but I need support to make this role sustainable.

  4. 5/5HORRIBLE UNRELIABLE SERVICE

I have had more late orders than I have had on time orders this is by far the absolute worst catering service I have ever used. I’ve been a user for 3 months now because of area demand and it has been the worst 3 months ever. Absolutely terrible customer service. Orders are always 30 minutes late. Restaurant and driver do not alert me or EZ Cater when they will be late. I have had to spend 30 minutes multiple times trying to track them down to see where the delivery was. You should have access to the restaurant you order from and not have to wait on EZ Cater to find them. There have been times where I am double charged and other times where I’m not charged for a month. I absolutely HATE this service and wish it was off the market.

  5. 1/5Crooked Company 🤬

This company uses other gig companies to contract drivers to take these catering orders to their customers….they are stealing tips and delivery charges that they charge the customer from the drivers. They charge the customer a minimum of $30 for delivery if not more and you would think that would go to the driver since the driver is using their own car and all the expenses fall on them but they give the driver $10 or less for delivery out of that delivery fee they already charged the customer….so they and the gig companies who contract the drivers are already dipping their hands in our pockets….then the tips are even worse….i caught them stealing tips from the drivers when they say we get 100% of the tips….i got half of what a customer tipped me and when I confronted them they blamed it on the other gig app and the other gig app blamed it on them and said they get the funds from ezcater and pay us directly. EzCater is already gouging restaurant owners for 25% or so for the total order amount so owners are practically giving the food away and not making much profit at all in an already low profit margin industry and yet these companies wanna steal from their drivers so they can pad their pockets even more. They are not transparent whatsoever….they are allowed to get away with not being transparent and stealing drivers pay….we’re definitely not getting 100% of the tips and they’re giving us a fraction of the delivery fee….dont be fooled customers when ordering from these companies and you should elect to pay drivers in cash to assure there is no more thievery taking place. These companies are nothing but criminals taking advantage of gig economy drivers. And do yourself a favor and order directly from the restaurant and save a lot of money because you’re not having to pay the middle man smfh 🤦‍♂️
