I am working to become a better celestial navigator and the program has been terrific at reinforcing use of the Almanac and sight reduction tables. It works as a standalone celestial calculator or in consort with traditional sight reduction methods. It is very quick to learn using the sample problems included. The integration of the Almanacs and HO 229 is what made the decision to use the program so easy. The celestial body selection tool works so well. I am anxious to see how well all things go once I am in offline mode. I am using on an iPad Pro with rugged case and keyboard, so data entry is quite easy. I will still carry all the books but the program sure helps out when I am missing current hard copies for the area of the World I am in.

5/5Very versatile fast and accurate
I loved using ez Almanac expert. Ez Almanac One is its successor. I was used to the old interface, but have come to appreciate the increase in functions and the 100 yr almanac included. No more buying new almanacs in app. It allows full manual sight reduction, if one prefers, with out having to carry several pounds of books. It works offline, and instantaneously in fully automatic mode. It allows analysis of LOPs, compass calibration, running fixes and much more. Now it even runs on a smartphone.

I found it helpful in my cel nav course. I found the app useful to check my plotted data and helped me save time in finding my errors when my hand drawn plots went awry.
