  1. 5/5AM I DREAMING?!

You guys. I’m not a high-power CEO or an investment banker: I don’t need an app with a live feed of stock market numbers, or anything to do with some guy named Dow Jones, or interest percentage calculators, or charts and projections and line graphs that give me flashbacks of high school math class and parabolas and X’s and Y’s. I’m a 30-year-old girl in a one bedroom apartment. I work at a desk Monday-Friday and on the weekends I stay in bed drinking beer and eating potato chips while binge watching all 12 seasons of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia for the ninth time. This app is pure perfection. It’s made for normal people!! All I want to do is keep track of how much I spent on McDonald’s last month and know that I can put about $2.74 of gas in my tank until payday. I had nearly given up hope, ready to resort to making a chart with a Sharpie and a ruler on a piece of printer paper, when EXPENSES OK saved my life. Enter the dollar amount—that’s it. I feel like a toddler that’s excited about pushing big buttons with numbers on them!! And although I would’ve been perfectly content with the app’s simple format regardless, they went a step further by adding pictures!!! How did they know?? Heck yeah I want to push buttons with a little purple car, or a green piggy bank, or a yellow cheeseburger, or a blue kitty!! EXPENSES OK is the adult equivalent of a toy phone with big bright buttons and colorful pictures and I’m drooling! (Don’t even get me started on the drop-down widget!!! What kind of magic is that?!) Thank you App Makers, please don’t change!!!!

  2. 5/5Excellent expense tracker!

This app makes tracking my expenses so easy and simple. Since I almost always have my phone on me, i can instantly enter expenses as it happens so i don't forget - it's just a really quick entry. You can add expense categories and associate an icon to it as you wish. The charts available is also very helpful in tracking where my money goes and what i spend most on. It just got updated and it can now export to csv format which is great. One thing i miss though is a complete detailed view of my daily spending for the month. The chart groups your expenses into categories but you need to tap into each of the categories to see the individual entries, so i can't easily check my spending from a certain date for example. I can't even check what i spend on two days ago. It keeps individual entries for today and yesterday only. But other than that i think this is a very handy app totally worth getting if you are looking for a simple way to track your money.

  3. 1/5Missing one key feature

I’m not gonna keep going on with you but I keep finding your comments to my review funny so it’s hard not to. So let me get this straight. Because I have an issue or don’t like something about your app and was providing my feedback I think the world revolves around me? So that means that every single person in this world that has issues with an app or feedback the world revolves around them? I never stated or implied the world revolves around me. I just provided feedback that all these other better apps have something you are missing. I find it hilarious that your first response is basically making fun of me laughing at me but then think I would ever try another one of your apps. Your response to my feedback/ criticism of your app has ensured that I will never touch another one of your products. Also when I posted my review it was 4 years since the last update so at the time of my review I was correct and you abandoned your app. Good for you that you updated it 3 days ago. Doesn’t change the fact I was correct at the time of my review. Here’s a tip for you. The more your app can do as in the whole picture the more people will use your app. I don’t want an app to track just my expenses and the a separate app to track my income. Someone seeing just what they are spending is half the picture. Its absolutely incredible the dev response to my comment with a laughing emoji. Do a search on all the other apps. They have income and spending. That way you can keep track of your spending and budget properly. It’s not rocket science but for you clearly it is. It’s missing income like all other apps. Makes it pointless. I don’t just want to see what I spend but also what’s left again like all other apps. The last update was also 4 years ago so they have abandoned this app.

  4. 5/5Best expenses app I've tried

I've tried a couple different apps that help me keep track of my spending habits, and this one seems to work best for me. It offers enough detail where I can easily and quickly see what I'm spending my money on, but not so much detail where the user would get exhausted and stop caring about expense tracking (which has happened to me with other expense apps). I can create and customize my categories, and I really like that you can lump several categories into one folder. (An example would be having a separate category for power, water, gas, and internet, then using the folder option to group all of these into one category). The pie chart will show you a slice representing that folder in total. then if you click on the folder you can see a separate pie chart for just that folders subcategories, i.e. all of your utilities broken down. Overall simple, easy, useful app!

  5. 5/5Hooked on it

I’ve become hooked on this little app. Tracking expenses is my greatest need. Not income (look at the sister app ‘Income OK’ for that, and not budgeting. Categories are customizable which I love. Could use a few more icons but what is supplied covers all the major bases. I was scanning all my receipts and saving/entering them into another app. This is so much easier since I don’t need a picture of an actual receipt. In the ‘notes’ section I can add as much detailed info as I like. The ‘reports’ section gives a sobering overview of exactly where my money is going each month—each category is reflected as a percentage against total spending. I can target exactly where I need to make adjustments. This new update brings something that was missing: iCloud sync. Now, if I could just have an iPad version … !
