I live in an area that was having some unusual tornado activity in the summer of 2025, and one time a tornado touched down near where I live, and I got a tornado warning on my phone, and I live on the second floor of an apartment building, so it’s extremely important that we get alerts fast. Luckily, this amazing app gave us a warning ~10 minutes before it got close, so we could get to shelter. The tornado ended up passing right next to us, and we were 100% in the bear’s cage. If you don’t know what that is then look it up. If we weren’t so lucky, the alert being later and the tornado hitting us, it would’ve been much worse. This app saves lives and it is essential for anyone living where the app is compatible.

I love the newest features of having emergency plans and checklists within the app itself! Personally I have been using this app for the past couple of years to receive alerts, for my area as well as for friends and family, and then be able to forward those alerts to them. I love how how you can also have your preparedness plans and checklists on the app itself! Also love the learning modules! Highly recommend as I’m extremely happy with the app’s performance and especially with the newest features!

This is making me incredibly frustrated. This is two times within a week that i have been in a tornado warning location with not a single warning from this app… on anyone’s phone! The tornado warning a week ago actually produced a tornado on the ground and without someone watching the news randomly at my daughters dance class no one would have known! Tonight thank God my husband was watching the news and there was a tornado warning for our location 30 minutes before your measly little warning came out. If i hadn’t of already been awake i would not have even heard that little notification. It sounded the exact same as the notification for a thunderstorm warning! What happened to the blaring siren y’all used to put out with the guy saying “tornado warning” with it?! Fix your issues… if you’re supposed to be an emergency notification app maybe it would be important to announce those emergencies properly.

1/5irresponsible to provide a safety app doesn’t work
I finally had to delete the app due to ridiculous alerts that were repetitive, OR, you don’t get ANY at all. A single alert, for your radius, by EVENT, should be all that’s needed, and then choose additional if you want more detailed ones. Recently - adding to review, now you get NO alerts notices - no banners, nothing…but they show in app IF you manually open it and scroll to the location. I’ve given feedback already, sometime ago, but so far not resolved: if you opt in for text alerts, the text needs to include the region name (it doesn’t say at all). Many people monitor more than one location. You have no idea for where it is alerting. So this is clearly another in long list of BROKEN apps that need updating, or pulling (the later in this case).

I absolutely love this app. We’ve had a bit of weird weather lately that requires seeking shelter, and while I hate the feeling I get from the loud alarm sound from a tornado warning on here, it is 100% appreciated because it could wake me from a dead sleep in time to get kids and pets to safety. The radius recommendations are perfect. The thought process behind the features on this app are comforting and appropriate. I recommend this app for all my family and friends.

7/2026; week 4. Accurate. Basic. Deficiency: I strongly wish & recommend a 1-inch by 3 or 4-inch widget which shows basic alert data. In addition; there should be a method to donate to them via Google Play or at a secure web site. 🙂.

With this release, we made it easier to connect with disaster services offered by the American Red Cross. If a disaster has impacted your location or one of your monitored locations, and the Red Cross has opened service sites within a 50-mile radius, the Emergency app will notify you with a banner. Tap the banner to understand the services offered, location, and hours of operation. You can get directions to these sites and share them with friends and family.
