   I have been trying to use E6 Connect with my Mevo+ on an iPad Pro. I get the same error message, “Device not connected”, as another reviewer got 2 years ago! The E6 developers don’t seem to care about resolving this issue. The advice I got from an E6 “CX Software Specialist” was to (1) turn off ALL other WiFi devices in the home, turn off all other applications running on iPhone and iPad, (2) that E6 Connect uses FlightScope’s connectivity and communication (I.e. it’s not OUR problem); And the best one yet: (3) that Mevo+ devices are subject to static issues so, if you’re using a turf or artificial grass, or have forced air heating, this specialist recommends using a spray bottle of 50% unscented Downy fabric softener and 50% water, every morning before use, lightly spray down all the turf floor. Or you can add a humidifier to the environment, blah, blah, blah. I am giving up on trugolf and E6 golf, since there has apparently not been much effort in resolving these long standing issues.

2. 5/5Great to play golf at night!!

   I love how easy it was to set up and understand how to use. After about 15 minutes on the driving range I felt comfortable enough to try out the courses and in just a couple of holes in I was familiar with how each club was going to play and the distance I could get. With the iPad it is more realistic and lets me play golf year-round(and inside which is great with this weather). It is also awesome to be able to play at night with my wife after our son has gone to bed, something I will probably continue to do even when it gets warm out. Great experience and can’t wait until more courses come out!

3. 2/5Falls Short for $300 a year

   There are several quirks and shortcomings that make E6 connect not worth $300 a year. 1.) You can not have a custom set of clubs. You are stuck with Driver, 3 & 5 wood, 4 hybrid, 4-9 iron, PW, GW, SW, putter. My clubs are Driver, 5 wood, 3-5 hybrid, 6-9 iron, PW, GW, 56 & 60 degree, putter. This makes using the driving range to get data on your bag of clubs impossible. So I don’t use the driving range. 2.) Sand shots are a joke. You have to hit them like a regular chip shot and then they aren’t predictable. The same swing might go twice as far as the last time. It’s frustrating. 3.) Putting isn’t even worth it. It’s extremely difficult to guess what 50, 30, 20 feet is in a virtual setting. I’d prefer having the option of having a chipping target like some programs offer, instead of putting. 4.) Changing your aiming direct is incredibly problematic. Point the arrow in the direction you want isn’t that bad, but trying to determine a layup yardage past 100 yards is unbearably finicky. The target post move of the screen after 100 yards and to try and control it you have to roll your finger tip to keep the target post from flying off the screen. It’s ridiculous. 5.) I’ve played 4 rounds and had two of them completely crash on the back nine. The app just closes. The game is gone and you can’t resume. Hopefully there will an app update soon to make this more enjoyable.

4. 2/5They ought to rename it E6 Disconnect

   Got this software with my Mevo Plus, which I use with an iPad Pro. In my mind, I just assumed that once I had the app and the device, I would open the app, turn on the Mevo, and play golf. Nope. That’s not how it works. What happens is an unclickable warning flashes in the upper left that says “Device not connected.” Again, not clickable, so very unhelpful. So, you then click through EVERY LINK IN THE APP looking for anything helpful like “connect to device.” Nope! Nada! You can’t make this stuff up. Connecting to a device it’s supposedly made to work with is an action that is COMPLETELY MISSING FROM THE APP. So you close the app, turn off the device. Turn on the device, open the app. Move the device closer, spin the device in circles, turn it upside down... nothing. I finally resorted to just using the FS app for practice, after which I checked the E6 software and Voila! It was magically connected. So, I tried it out. Distance to target in metric, no problem, think I, SURELY they can’t screw up how to change that! Well, yes they sure can! When you go to Settings> Measurement there is a super helpful drop down titled “Unused” that DOESN’T DROP DOWN. So, metric only, because that field is “unused,” whatever in the world that means. So if you were hoping to get this app, and turn on you Mevo Plus and play golf in, you know, yards, then GOOD LUCK!

5. 5/5Works great on garmin r10!

   Love it! I haven’t had any issues with the 5 free courses that come with the garmin r10. Some minor suggestions: When playing a round it’d be nice if the hud buttons at the bottom were a little bigger; they’re tiny on the iPhone and it’s hard to hit the right one. Also I wish there was a way to do a mulligan for the previous golfer. If you don’t quickly hit mulligan it just moves on. Also for the auto putting, I wish there was an option to define the parameters. For example, I want to say any putt that is 12 feet or longer is a two putt, over 35 feet is a 3 putt. Instead the only option is “computer decides” which can be a bit of a wildcard. There is another auto putt option but it takes away the ability to chip which is no fun. Yes, I can enter the putt totals manually but it’s so tedious. All in all though, shot shape and distance have been great. Has never locked up on me either. Very happy with it.
