  1. 5/5I’ve been using it for 2 years now I believe, I know for a fact since last winter 2024.

On rare occasions it’s slow to load up the weather information, also on rare occasions it misses the temp and weather by a few degrees, but in reality what weatherman or app gets it perfect every time. Honest opinion, for 20 dollars a year this app has helped me pick better routes, avoiding blizzards and bad storm areas. If you are traveling in any profession, get the premium subscription and this app will save your life, or at least your vehicle. As a truck driver this is a must have, it tells you the wind speed sustained and gusts. Know what you’re about to drive in to and make informed decisions. I do not drive at all before checking with drive weather anymore. Wind can blow us over, blizzards can leave us stranded, and this app is always here to help. Also the free version still shows you the weather and temperature if your not needing wind information like me, and because I drive a diesel engine just having the temperature forecast is a must due to knowing when anti-gel is needed. Even if you’re driving a pickup truck that happens to be diesel powered, get this app and check the temperature. The money you will save by knowing when to treat your fuel tank and you can skip it far exceeds the cost of the premium version of drive weather. I’ll end this by saying thank you drive weather for providing a perfectly functional app that helps me run my business effectively! If you’re a trucker like me, the decision is non negotiable, download drive weather and start making good trip plans.

  2. 5/5Awesome App

Im on one of the most significant journeys of my life! My largest concern when deciding was how to safely navigate the treacherous weather during the winter months. I've lived here almost 30years, I am 75yrs old, moving from Concord Cali to Longmont Colorado, driving my 2015 VW TGI 1700 miles, all my remaining possessions packed to the gills! My youngest brother who has lived in Longmont 10years is opening the doors and guiding me in many areas; the big one besides lodging, planning the ride there. Prior to my departure, Ive had car problems that stumped the dealership and had to press them to find. I was actually sent home after with a "here you go" with no repairs. There was still something was obviously still wrong and didnt want to break down in the middle of a snowstorm or worse. I prevailed and pushed them to relooking. Lordy lordy! They suddenly found the problem, a split coolant pipe which is now repaired! I think we're good to go and have been driving for a week with no issues. I still had my navigation issue...my bro came to the rescue with your app! I spent some time exploring all of its facets and im so impressed and thankful you created this to make it easier, safer, removing any prognostication. Its fun too! Largely, the citizenry is not sophisticated or desire spending the time to needed figure things out! Its not complicated...Folks! This app is exactly what I needed, covering all my concerns. If you cant figure it out, you're doing something wrong...go back and look 👀. Dont dare give this app a 1 -star review! If you do, you're really rating your own stupidity!

  3. 5/5BEST MULTI-STATE TRAVEL APP EVER!!!

DriveWeather is a game changer for planning road trips! For 30+ years I spent hours checking multiple sources when planning a interstate trip, and using the DriveWeather app in less than FIVE MINUTES I have all that information (and more)!! If you travel by RV or car (or you’re a truck driver), DriveWeather really will be your new favorite app. If you are planning travel through multiple states, this app is exceptional and the user support is exceptional too. Using DriveWeather I can easily see weather, wind speed, temperatures and precipitation for the entire trip. I can adjust the start day or time and see what the weather forecast will be for the entire trip at the time I’ll be in a specific location!! (I upgraded to the paid version on my first trip for $10/year, and received more than $10 in value the first time I used DriveWeather). *I sent the developer a question, and in less than 30 minutes I received a very polite detailed personal response* I have never had a developer respond to a question, and if I had downloaded the latest update to the app I wouldn’t have needed to ask the question.

  4. 5/5Amazing!!! Kept me safe on a cross country drive during winter!!

I was relocating from the west coast of US to the east coast and ended up driving my car, in the middle of a pandemic and during winter. The scariest part was not knowing what kind of weather patterns and road conditions/closures I would see along my route. I definitely did not want to find bad weather when it hit me but wanted to know ahead of time so I could plan for an alternate route. I tried many apps to get this info but I had to do a lot of work to accurately interpret the weather. I stumbled upon DriveWeather app and I was amazed at how intuitive and easy it was to get all the weather information along my route in a few clicks. It told me how the weather would look over the next 7 days, in drive time. I could also adjust my start time and it would tell me how the weather would be like at each hour till I reach my destination. It was spot on!! I had 3 routes planned as backup in case weather turned bad. Every morning, I would check weather using this app on my planned route and if it was unsafe, I would choose an alternate safer route. Having this ability gave me confidence to complete a 3400 mile drive in 7 days that took me through 13 states. My original plan was to take the longer southern pacific route that hugs Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, Carolinas and then drive north to New York. It was a 10 day drive but with the help of this app, I was able to cut my trip down to 7 days as I could see better weather on the other routes on a day-to-day basis. Ended up taking AZ, NM, TX, OK, MO, KY, OH, PA, I would highly recommend this app, it was a game changer and life saver for me. If you’re a trucker or drive long distance frequently, this app will be super helpful. I will continue to use it regularly. The annual subscription is totally worth it. The app developer has also been very responsive and incorporated some of my feedback in the app to help make my cross country planning a lot more easier.

  5. 1/5Major Glitches

I am so anxious to find an app that does what this app claims to do, but this one isn’t there. After several times, deleting and reconfiguring a road trip I have already planned on another app, I am not going to waste any more time on this. Each time I tried, stop number 4 could not get the times right, and therefore threw off the entire trip beyond that. I can’t possibly leave a stop at 6AM, make another stop, 50 miles away, and stay there 4 hrs (leave here at 10:48AM), drive another 50 miles, and get to my next stop at 7:58AM. Especially since the route is going east across time zones, not the opposite. I really tried to get that stop fixed, including changing locations, just adding the time there, to the time at the previous stop, and deleting and re adding it multiple times. Each time, the stop 4 made the same timed error. There are other things that make the app not so user friendly, like not having a location for Death Valley, a National Park, and not allowing you to add a waypoint off the designated route. Sometimes diversions are part of a trip, and I am looking for a travel app with weather, that allows you to set your own trip. This is not that. It is a fun app to play with but, it isn’t as functional as I would like when planning a trip across country.

View cameras, road construction, flooding, icy conditions, congestion, road closures, lane and ramp closures, crashes, police activity, and other reported road events along your route. Tap the new Road icon to display 511 road events, then tap any event for more information. When 511 data is displayed, tap the “?” in the lower-left corner to view the road-condition icon legend. Just like Drive Weather’s weather forecasts, road events are presented in the context of your trip and your estimated arrival time (ETA) at each location, helping you see the conditions you may encounter when you actually get there. 511 data availability and reported event types vary by state, province, and transportation agency.
