5/5Best app for the job!
I don’t write reviews for anything, but I figure since I’m probably in a very small minority of people who use this app for the purpose I use it for, I have a particularly unique outlook. As a worship leader, I use this app during every step of my planning and execution of song service. During song selection, I can quickly look at my library of songs, and find ones that can match the keys we’re performing in or order them to provide easy transitions between key changes, or find songs of a particular tempo I’m looking to use during certain parts of the service. During practice, if we are listening to a new song, I can slow it down so the musicians can catch on quicker, or modulate the key to match the singer’s range(s). Then, if there’s a transition straight into another song, they can hear what that sounds like with the blending features. If I’m only playing music in-house and not performing, I can keep a flow without missing a beat, actually using the app for how it was intended. In short, this is a highly underrated app that can be used for far more than its intended purpose. Yes, I know there are other apps out there that may do “this” one thing or “that” other thing better, but as a whole package, this app has been a great asset throughout.

2/5So disappointed
Tracks that freeze in the middle, won’t play at all, tracks that won’t stay in sync, or they drag, a lot of times only half the song loads, won’t load at all, or will take a full 3 1/2 minutes just to load, ON WI-FI. I even purchased a brand new 2014 iPhone Plus and a 9th Generation iPad to trouble shoot and remove the possibility of it being an issue with the end user tech. To my disbelief, things got even worse. This app’s glory days have long passed and there’s nobody available to assist you with technical issues or answer your questions. The Help email option, for all accounts and purposes, should be taken down from the website. That department has been dismantled, apparently. No reason to waste your time or spend your hard earned money. was a devout fan of this app and have subscribed to not just the app but to Tidal and Beatsource in addition. A fan until the issues over the past 6 to 8 months have really soured me and has me wondering if the developers haven’t given up on the app, too. SO MANY Jed glitches and problems. Trying to get technical assistance and having every email request go unanswered and ignored for the past 4 months is really frustrating. There are so many viable alternatives. Some that are even better because they’re stable. Stable in their technology and stable in their customer service. It’s easy to sell a product and collect money each month but it’s something altogether different to have the integrity to stand behind that product and stand out from the competition.

5/5Djay Pro AI is good, not great yet
Launch day: first thoughts I jumped out of bed when I read the email headline. Tried it out. Pretty impressive for the first taste. Ideally, you could listen to the vocals for a song and it would sound like the acapella. Not here. Djay Pro AI is good enough to lift sounds out of tracks to throw on other tracks, or to create a new beat for a vocal out of samples and loops, but not to listen in isolation, nor to record and export to another app, yet. AI tends to improve with time and processing power. I have tried djay Pro AI on a device with an A10X chip, and one with an A12 with a dedicated ML accelerator. The sound quality is about the same, and it is likely held back by Algoriddim needing to program for the least powerful hardware, as well as this type of AI being new to DJ apps. We should hear some pretty interesting mixes from here, but they won’t sound good enough to sell for a while. Very exciting. Congrats to Algoriddim on being the first, and thank you for continuing to push the industry forward and make DJing more accessible. Now Algoriddim, make it better. Oh, and Serato, if you’re reading this, get on it! This trick is better to have than not to have, even in its current state. Vs. STEMS? Well the problem with STEMS format is that I do not own, nor can I borrow and stream, any music in STEMS format, nor do djay or Serato support it. Djay Pro AI works with your existing library. It’s like having all your music converted to a poorly mastered STEMS format without having to do anything. STEMS is better IF you have music in that format AND a player which supports it (Traktor, DJ Player), but no one does.

4/5Most used app on my phone
Ever since my hardware started acting screwy, I decided to give some alternatives a try. I’ve only ever mixed and recorded analog... 1200s, CDJs with actual CDs, mixer into the AUX of a stereo, cassette recordings... I’ve never used software before. I wouldn’t even know how to connect my laptop to my mixer. Yeah I know... ridiculous, right? But if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Well... it broke. So I decided to give some of the DJ apps a try. And I gotta say... most of the ones I tired were pretty terrible. Hot garbage, if I’m being honest. They had interesting qualities but wasn’t quite “there”. And the recordings sounded worse than my cassette recordings, hiss and all. This was the last app I tried. And I fell in love. So much so, I actually pay for it... and if you knew me... you’ll know I never spend money on apps. Only reason this is 4 stars instead of 5, is because the app drains my battery pretty quickly. Otherwise it’s be the full 5 stars. Anyways, hope my review is helpful to someone on the fence about giving it a try. All I’ll say is, this is by far the best app I’ve come across that fulfills what I need in a DJ setup... and more. I’ve tried about 4 other ones, and not only is this smoother and easier to use, the UI is way better looking than the others I tried. Solve that battery draining problem and I’d go as far as it say it’s perfect (for what I need). Good luck!

5/5Play music off iCloud/ files, ditch iTunes music
I don’t have a computer, just a phone. There aren’t many decent music players for iOS. I make my own music, on my phone, and like to listen to them. I can do that with this player. It makes listening to music really fun. You can play around with effects, record, mix, and has some pretty intuitive features. It did eat my battery pretty fast. Not something that you can use all the time, unless you’re plugged in. I see dj’s as music makers that haven’t really taken that crucial next step into music making. You could call them posers, or noobs. Especially since everyone can afford to make music on their computers and phones/ iPads now. I see if dj apps want to make it in the future now, they’ll need to start seeing themselves as musical instruments. Therefore integrate themselves into AUM/ Audiobus/ audio units/ plug-ins/ effects. Without this, it’s kind of all gimmicky and doesn’t really last/ transitional to say the least. Dj’s are well mostly fake. Ai can do everything they do. Sure they bring the energy and promote music. But to really bring it, is to make music, and step on fan mode.
