3/5Useful but frustrating
The app itself is works well for me and I like the features it does have. My issues with it are the features it lacks, starting with dark mode. Why, after all these years, is there no support for dark mode?! When I wake up in the middle of the night to deal with an alert it makes it that much harder to see, process, and understand what the app is trying to tell me when I'm being blinded by the glaring brightness of this solid white screen. I already set my screen brightness at its lowest level at night and it's still not enough. I don't have this issue with the Tandem t:connect app when I need to use my pump, because they actually implemented a dark mode. My next issue is with the watch app and how few watch faces the G7 complication even supports. I just updated my watch to watchOS 11 and the photo watch face, which I had previously been using the G7 complication with just fine, no longer shows the G7 as an option. Why????? Why does there seem to be so little support for developing this app? Why does it take so long to get anything updated in this app or to add any features? If the issue isn't Dexcom and instead it's healthcare regulations that are slowing everything down, why can't Dexcom be more transparent and open about it?

4/5Better experience than others
I’ve been reading other reviews about problems that I’m (thankfully) not experiencing. The G7 is my first cgm and I’ve been using it for about 6 weeks. In that time, I’ve had it lose the connection a couple of times but otherwise it’s been solid. Far fewer problems staying connected than, say, my AirPods. Zero problems with the app crashing or sending incorrect alerts. The biggest issue I’m seeing is inconsistent readings between sensors which is obviously a problem. In terms of usability, I agree with many suggestions that others have made. The fact that I can’t click the graph to see the reading at a point in time is egregious. (It’s possible to get the number but not easy or obvious.) same goes for being limited to the last 24 hours. The Clarity functionality should be integrated and I should be informed about trends without having to piece it together myself. It’s odd that all of the logged events appear below the chart if you rotate the phone to landscape but not in portrait orientation. I get that there may not always be room to show everything, but there are plenty of established patterns for condensing markers to fit the available space. That I can only enter total carbs for a meal makes no sense. Not even a label so I know what I ate? I’ve been entering food as Notes so I have control over what gets logged. While G7 is not perfect and acknowledging that I haven’t used G6 as a point of comparison, please don’t let the reviews discourage you from getting a cgm. This one or another. It’s a complete game changer compared to doing finger sticks.

2/5Disappointed but giving it another try
A month ago I switched to Free style libre 3 bc I was having issues with the 10 day G7. The reading were off by 20 points or more. Constant recalibrations, insane amount of alarms for the smallest things. Especially when i was changing sensors ad if the world was ending. I would habe to install the app temporarily just to get it to stop among other glitches. The constant calls to customer service for bad sensors and all they could do was replace sensors. I felt like this was just a bandaid nit getting to the root of the problem. but after using the Libre 3 I realized that the G7 was way better in so many ways. First the app itself is like professional college level while Freestyle is on 2nd grade level. I was not able to enter my own numbers or calibrate or enter my meds or track my foods. With dexcom i could use it like my food journal it would track my pre and post sugars. Freestyle is as basic as they come. That may be fine for some but as organized and detailed oriented as i am i need all the “bells and whistles “. The free style has been altering me in the middle of night for low sugar below 69, i got up and tested and i was 125. I know there are no devices tht are 100% accurate and they will have glitches but freestyle is just not for me. Im hoping the 15 day wear will be better. Im hoping to give a better star rating if i see improvement with the 10 and 15 day wear.

1/5Cannot dismiss alerts from watch
This app is almost good. It’s missing two features that are standard in every other app in the AppStore. And with those features it would be 4 stars. 1. Most important. Be able to dismiss alerts from the Apple Watch. I get alert, dismiss the alert of the watch, but a minute later it alerts again. Making me have to open the app on my phone to dismiss the alert. If I’m in a meeting or somewhere important I can’t be pulling out my phone or having Loud critical alerts going off every couple of minutes for something I’ve taken care of. An even better feature would be to let me get a 1 minute quiet notification on my watch that I could clear before even setting off a critical alert. But as the way it is now, I’m going to have to turn off critical alert notifications, which is not a good thing. 2. This doesn’t seem like a big one, but it is. Dark mode. It exists on Dexcom Follow app, so I know there Devs know how to do it, and they should be using shared libraries, so why am I blinding my self at night to check my Blood Sugars? A device and technology so advanced it can tell me my blood sugar every 5 minutes just by looking at a screen, when just 20 years ago we were peeing on sticks, and not long before that peeing on the ground and watching for ants. But yet my retinas burn when I check my blood sugar. And my I get just as embarrassed as everyone stares at me thinking I didn’t mute my phone for the meeting. Please fix this.

4/5Godsend, but old g6 alarms still going off?
I love my Dexcom. I don’t like the suggestion of arms as the only location for sensor placement. Hopefully it is just a suggestion and there’s no reason you can’t use the abdomen. Honestly it’s just a failure of Dexcom to not do studies on abdomen placement. My current issue is my iPhone is alerting twice for low bs and stuff. It’s as though my h6 is still active and both g6 and g7 are alarming one after the other. I got a new phone so I deleted Dexcom all the way, searched to see if any other Dexcom programs were on my phone (no) then reinstalled Dexcom and it’s still happening. Also still having very random sensor failures and, even though they will replace them, it is more problematic to have them fail day 2 of a 15 day sensor period. Also no one tells you they can fail at a super high blood glucose. Mine read 350 when it was really 600- yes my family had been checking it as I was admitted for keto acidosis (thank u Jardiance.) Before you berate me for poor glucose control, I had normal blood glucose with two Dr appointments. All lab tests were normal, but something was gravely wrong with me. Supposedly rare, so they don’t warn about euglycemic ketoacidosis. 350 bs came later when my body finally collapsed. Acidosis kills off sensors?
