1. 5/5Excellent App!!

   I love this app! Easy to use/user friendly, great features like crash notifications to next of kin/emergency contacts, notifies friends when you are out riding so they can track your live progress and position (if it is turned on), and automatically pauses the ride when you’re sitting at a light or stop somewhere, so it is only tracking actual ride time and statistics. Lets you save routes and rides, and gives you a ton of information about your speed, elevation, acceleration, etc. Great concept for an app and would definitely recommend!

2. 2/5It’s great when it works, but it’s buggy and frustrating

   I’ve used this app with great success around the house on shorter trips. I finally took a longer trip to the mountains and this app let me down every time I used it. On the way up it closed after a rest stop and I didn’t notice and got way off course. I’ll put this on the phone for closing the app but my phone has never closed it like this before. The next day I had a great round trip planned and after less than 10 minutes it added unreachable waypoints that caused the navigation to run in circles. This effectively ruined the planned route since you can’t bypass waypoints. I never got more than 15 minutes or so without it doing this and since I had no idea where I was I’d have to stop and try again. I started picking destinations without waypoints and it seemed to help but it would put me on roads no street oriented bike should ever go on, creating some stressful and unpleasant situations. I’ve lost all faith in this app’s ability to get me where I want to go and have canceled my premium subscription since the extra features aren’t worth the money. On the way home I used Google maps which worked flawlessly even in areas where Detecht had problems.

   I gave this app a test while going out on a drive where I like to take multiple routes each time 1 go. I have planned it out on my own and I feel like the my planning took just about as much time and was about the same amount of effort. The app did crash on me a few times, but my phone is 4 years old now so I do not blame the devs there. My biggest issue with the app was that the app did not know when roads were closed. My trip was 560 total miles and on 3 occasions roads were closed. I had poor cell coverage a the recalculation would not work. In the attempt my iPhone 13 Pro reached max temps and overheated even while the AC was blowing on it. I had to not only close the app but resta my phone. Overall I see the dream and this is the right idea but there needs to be some additional features to make this actually be better than using google maps. 1. During the route planning have the user set a start and end location, then allow users to drop pins on the map for stops along the way. If the stops are out of order the current en screen already allows for moving stops around. 2. Temporarily download the relevant map data to the users device once the route starts. Often when trips start users will be in good coverage areas but will not have coverage mid 3. Don't gray out the other Ul when the "recalculate" button is shown. I missed a turn and the recalculate button made it so I could not do anything on the app. With no signal I was basically locked out.

4. 2/5Too buggy to use

   I am currently on a cross country trip from Oregon to Florida on my motorcycle and I could use this app for maybe half a state. It does good route planning for curvy roads with the subscription, but that’s about it. While riding it was constantly bugging and trying to have me turn at every street only to make a circle and get back on the same route. I had to re input the destination as many as 5 times to get it to stop doing that and then a little while of working correctly it would go back to the same issue. The crash detection is a cool feature but my Apple Watch has that so it’s not a necessity. As far as I can tell there isn’t a way to add a quick stop so you can hit a near by gas station on the way which would be helpful. Also, a good feature would be to input the mileage per tank you get on your bike for those without a meter that can warn you when you are getting close to empty. Has the potential to be a good app but not quite there.

5. 3/5App good for Route Tracking and Speed; Crash Alarm seems to auto close app.

   I’ve been using this app for a few days now, so this review is subject to change over time. So far I really like the app during my daily commute, it keeps track of my travel time and average speed. It also does a good job of keeping track of the speed limit of the road that I’m on (it would be nice if there were a setting to keep the speed limit pop up, even when not on a route) One big issue I’ve come across so far is that the crash detection test appears to automatically close the app at random times. I tried it 5 times and only once did it send the test text to my emergency contacts. I had to tap the send button 5 times, so I fear it might not work in the event of a real emergency where I am unable to tap the button.

   it has worked great for smaller rides. When i used it for a much longer, multi-day ride it took me to the front gates of an airforce base in the middle of nowhere (Beale AFB), requiring me to double back and almost run out of fuel in 90+ F weather (granted my gas tank is about 2.2 gallons). Long story short, great app, doesnt have military bases mapped out.

   i had previously rated this app 5 stars but recently it keeps suggesting routes with a lot of stop signs when I ask for a curvy route. there should be a balance between avg speed and curves.
