  1. 4/5IPhone 11 Issue

The app worked awesome on my previous IPhone. My new IPhone 11 Pro Max the notes are half off the screen and the button you push to enter notes sits on the first note making it difficult to use. I use the notes as my diary for the day so I can reference back to it during my therapy session. I tried to uninstall the app and re-install it but that didn’t fix it, I only lost all my saved information. Feeling frustrated. After submitted my review an updated was released that fixed the note issues. This is by far the best DBT app I have found. The customization allows me to tailor it to what is being addressed and worked on whole turning off the targets I don’t need to track. Update.... The IPhone 11 will not allow me to update/edit the time. This feature was handy when I remembered something from the previous day and wanted it to be in the correct order of events for that day.

  2. 3/5Needs a little work

First off, I absolutely love this app and recommend it highly. I just have a couple of items that I feel would greatly improve the app’s usefulness. 1.- When using the coaching feature, the text boxes don’t allow use of iPhone’s keyboard predictive text feature that I rely on for text input. I don’t know if there is any way to enable its use/functionality but I would really appreciate it as it would make using the coaching feature less cumbersome. 2.- It would mean a lot if there was a way to save the coaching feature text and come back to it. Or even get Siri to encourage a user to complete the coaching text. I don’t know if it’s my ADHD or my chronic pain that makes it hard to complete all of the coaching texts in one sitting. But I feel like I need to sometimes think over the question and I have lost my input and had to start over. 3.- Lastly, and I have no idea how this would be deployed…but I would love more integration with Siri. I don’t know if there’s a way to get a check-in about my overall mood or symptoms and based off that result to use whatever features. 4.- I would love for the time that I spend working on DBT skills to translate into the mindfulness health data in Apple’s Health app, for mindfulness related skills or activities that I’m doing with the app’s recommendation(s). Thank you for all you do! I look forward to seeing this app evolve!

  3. 5/5I want to give it 5 stars but it keeps deleting my past week’s information EDIT

UPDATE: I haven’t updated my review for quite awhile and I apologize for that. Now I love this app, it still sometimes has bugs but they’re usually dealt with in the next update and they’re typically not a big deal. I haven’t used any other diary card app so I can’t compare it to anything but I really do depend on this app for quite a few things including emailing my diary card each week to my DBT co-facilitators. I really do love this app, it’s easy to use and keeps all my data from literally years ago, probably partly due to iCloud but also this app. Anyway apologies for not updating my review in forever! My original review below 👇🏼 Let me start with saying I love this app. I’ve been using it for years with few negative things to say. I’m getting used to the new interface and am starting to like this version also. However it is now really buggy. Two weeks ago it deleted all my information from the previous week but with a new update restored it. Now this week it again deleted the previous week’s diary cards. I’ve been waiting for a new update to fix this, too, but it hasn’t had an update as of the writing of this review and this time if the developer could fix it—for good—that would be much appreciated. I don’t know if there are any comparable diary card apps but I’d hate to lose all my information with changing apps because if this keeps up I just can’t keep using an app like this that I use for personal information regarding my mental health/other personal stuff being super buggy all the time. Please fix it! Otherwise unfortunately I’ll have to look elsewhere.

  4. 3/5Frustrated

Some parts of the app are really helpful: keeping track of emotions and skills, and being able to edit them. However, (1) one of the selling points is emailing the diary card to your therapist, and this feature hasn’t worked, I could email it to my self either. I’ve been sending screenshots to my therapist instead, hence PART of my frustration. (2) I have emailed support twice on the matter without a response, it has been months. (3) I also have questions I want to ask about some of the features like trying to adjust the date on the diary card (since I’m doing it manually), but I can’t; (4) and the colored graphs look really cool except it’s not showing the second page or all the variables. In closing, the above issues aside, I like this app. I like adding time stamped notes with my thoughts and adjusting the categories throughout the day, and the daily alarm to complete it. I hope someone sees this and gets in contact with me and fixes the problems. Peace.

  5. 3/5Dear Developer/Therapist who created this app,

I get that app development is not your day job. I get that you created something that you thought would be (and is!) helpful. But now things are breaking within the app and you’ve either decided to do nothing or have completely forgotten about us altogether. Or maybe you know we’re frustrated but don’t know how to fix the litany of bugs in your app. That’s understandable. But we did pay for this app, and therefore a certain standard of upkeep is required. If you are not up to that task, I suggest issuing us all refunds and making this a free app. If you aren’t willing to issue refunds and can’t fix the bugs, perhaps hire a developer short-term who can. As it stands, we paid for something that doesn’t fully work, and that is unacceptable.

Fixed crashing some users were experiencing under iOS 7.1

  • 2.8

This is an iOS 8 bug fix release. New and exciting features coming in a future update! Users with iPads - if you're experiencing problems typing in notes fields, please use portrait orientation. I'm working on a fix right now but in the meantime I hope this workaround is acceptable. Sorry for the inconvenience!

  • 2.8.1

    Bug fixes.

  • 2.9

Numerous bug fixes. When you first launch the updated app, it may say "Updating database" for a little while. Please be patient during this process. If you've given the app a poor review because of these issues, please consider updating it! I've worked very hard to make sure that the app is the best on the market and I hope that these fixes restore that position! - resolved the app hanging on contact addition - changed backup/restore issue - resolved changing reminder time issue - fixed checkboxes in references

  • 2.9.1

I think I've finally gotten all the problematic bugs taken care of in this update. It was a long time coming and required quite a bit of work. My reviews have suffered greatly in the past few months and that's my fault. I hope this update gets the app back up to its great reviews. Added iPhone 6/6+ support. Finally. Bug fixes: - fixed intermittent reminders issue - updated codebase to 64-bit - updated Dropbox backup - fixed intermittent scale changing issue

  • 3.0

Update: Some users are experiencing a white/grey screen on launching the updated app. The interface is hidden behind this screen and if you tap where you'd expect the UI to be, the app will function normally and you'll be able to see everything. It's just the main screen. I am working on an urgent fix for this bug. If your app is functioning normally with 2.9.1, I'd recommend staying on that version until I fix this problem. More bug fixes. We had hoped to fix all the bugs in our previous update, but, alas, that didn't happen. This update address a hanging bug that occurred when adding a therapist from your contact list, launch freeze on iPhone 4/4S and a few other refinements. I appreciate all the patience you have had during these updates and I promised I haven't forgotten about all the enhancements. They are coming, I promise!
