1. 5/5PLEASE FIX APP

   This app is crucial, which very few apps can say they share the same status. However, it has two really big issues. 1. The app when playing PiP will randomly lose its place and PiP will go black (often when rewinding or fast forwarding). When you try to go full screen to resolve the issue, the entire app will close and will not save your place in the video. 2. When you are playing an episode and have left the app and closed out of PiP, you may think that the app is on hold until you return to it, but you’d be wrong. Any time you answer a call, play a different video or song, or even so much as to unlock your phone, the audio will begin playing again. Definitely infuriating when you’re trying to put babies to bed and try to use your phone for light when it starts playing Matt Walsh louder than a nuclear bomb. Those are the actual issues, but for suggestions I’d say you need the app to remember your place on videos. It does do this for me but only about 10% of the time. My review is intended for the producers, however if you are a regular person wondering whether or not you want to get this app and/or pay for a subscription, the answer is 1,000,000x yes. Not only will you have incredible and honest news updates, quite the rarity these days, but you will also have high quality content built around the values that you and your family share, as well as documentaries researching in depth the topics that are hammered on our culture today. Don’t forget the entertainment for both you and your children! When it comes to hot topics, there is nothing they won’t say or research. Except vaccines….

2. 5/5DailyWire+ - The Best Unbiased News Source

   I’ve been a long time fan of Ben, Jordan B. Peterson, and Candace Owens. So, naturally, when I heard Daily Wire was creating a service that would allow me to seamlessly watch all three of these magnificent speakers, I just had to subscribe. Literally the same day I found out, I had All-Access for the next year. I haven’t regretted it for one second. They’re seemingly the only news source presenting facts without bias, and the political commentary is always stellar. So, why 4 stars, then, you might ask? It’s the app. Specifically one major problem I have with the app is that when I full screen video content, there remains a bar on the bottom of the screen that blocks a portion of the video. More specifically, it blocks the portion of the video in which closed captioning appears. As a hard of hearing person, I rely on closed captioning at all times to get the most out of news and entertainment. If the development team were to fix this, I’d immediately amend my review to be 5 stars. Thank you UPDATE - Developers fixed the black bar bug only hours day after my review! Great receptiveness to feedback from the Daily Wire dev team. Updated my review to be 5 stars

   I enjoy all the content of the DailyWire whether I agree with all of it or not. It is well presented, often humorous, and always thought provoking. The app implementation, however, leaves a lot to be desired. Finding information in the app is very difficult and non-intuitive even for full access members. Things like “how to write to mailbag” or “what is next book in book club” among many other things are difficult to find. I appreciate having choice of video or audio for content but it is very bad at remembering “where” you were when you go back to listen to something you didn’t finish and to navigate to audio in car requires pulling over - having good CarPlay integration or a way to list favorites to easily get to would save lives. The iPadOS version is also very bad. Except when watching videos full screen, it always defaults to “portrait mode” - more and more, people use iPads with a keyboard in landscape mode and having to turn your head sideways is very annoying. It is also good that you have options for audio or video for the same content as I will often start something audio-only in the car or on a walk and then finish with the video when stationary - however, it would be much better if “where” you were was remembered as to switch you have to manually find your place (same for switching to another device). Love all the new stuff in DailyWire+ but perhaps you could re-direct some of the funds to making the app better. It really should be up to the level of the content and right now it falls far short.

4. 4/5Great Content, Update Missed the Mark

   I love using this app as it’s the only way to watch the video versions of their podcasts. However, I’ve had minor gripes about the old version. Mainly about how content was organized and some issues with having to press play twice to start podcasts. I was excited to hear from Ben that they were working on an overhaul and was ecstatic to see it had arrived. However, like many others who’ve left reviews recently, I’ve had issues with it. I like the new UI, but it now requires more presses to get to Ben’s podcast, the main reason for this app ;), which I can overlook but is disappointing. It does make some sense, given the breadth of content type now offered, but as someone who listens daily this adds a decent amount of friction that seems unnecessary. The killer bugs are being logged out randomly and having playback in the background canceled without it saving your place. I understand this is likely growing pains with the new version and I assume a fix is coming soon but definitely has put a damper on the update. I’ve also had issues with my headphone’s media buttons not pausing or playing the podcast that I’m listening to and would like this to be fixed as well. I’d also like to suggest an option to download episodes for playback offline later but that is just a wish. Otherwise, keep up the great content and I am looking forward to version 3.1! 09JAN2025 Update: I’ve updated this review to 4 stars since the issue of random logouts, not saving your place, and the media buttons not working have all been resolved! I still wish the podcasts could be downloaded but this is a minor gripe. Overall, great app and definitely an improvement over v2

   The daily wire app was fantastic in its beginning. Over time it degraded it’s business to be just like that of its competitors. It shares the exact same over done and over run celebrity gossip stories. Has little variation from any other news networks. It’s hosts now offer personalized insults to same said celebrities they use to say to “stop talking about them”. They once understood that the gossip was free advertisement and now they actively participate in the same game. They have allowed personal insults to people who do NOT deserve it. Such as Michael Knowles referring to a man at the Olympics a loser because his girlfriend proposed to him. How he would know these people so personally to pass some the judgments he made on them is fascinating. The fact the daily wire allowed such an article reflects the loss in care about quality. Michael also claimed no argument was needed for said article but that he was right because no counter argument was available to his knowledge. I really don’t care about his personal feelings. I care an argument with personalized insults was passed on innocent people with no facts. Statistics, studies to be sited or reference as to how his argument was true. At this point he could have gone on the View to share his personal views as facts. I’m not making a simple complaint. I paid for this service and supported this company because of the values it started on. I do hope this is considered in future publications so that what is still of good value is not lost to be just like everything else.

   You can tell alot about a company based on how easy it is to cancel. I didn't get a notice about my renewal and missed it by 3 days. Canceled because I havent used Daily Wire in months and chatted in to hopefully get a refund. Got the AI bot, gave the preliminary response about wanting a refund. "Agent" comes on, reviews the question. Says that, with either an AI reponse or a copy and pasted message, because I missed the renewal, they cant issue a refund and then said goodbye. No help.

   You can no longer close your phone while listening to podcasts on video mode without them stopping a few seconds later. If you listen to the audio version, this doesn't happen, but then you get all the ads that play during the podcast. I used to be able to play the video podcast with my screen closed and it would continue playing until the episode was done. Now it freezes unless I keep my screen open. I'm very disappointed with this new behavior.

   horrible customer service. auto renewed me for a year for $250. 2 days after i noticed the charge on my credit card, when I asked for a refund they said no refunds. I dont even use the service.
