1. 5/5Absolutely the best, and I’ve tried them all.

   Hands down, the best aggregation of documentaries available. I especially enjoy the science and history content. New content added frequently. Original content is world class. I originally subscribed for the science, math and technology content, but due to the excellent curation and categorization, I’ve broadened my interests and I’m catching up with all the areas I snoozed through in school, namely World History, Culture and Civilization. Ive also become enthralled with a wider range of interests such as Anthropology, Early Human development, Genetics and Biology, along with space exploration, the World Wars, Espionage and even Philosophy. I watch CS every day and it is part of my daily bedtime routine. I highly recommend subscribing through the App Store and using the independent app on AppleTV, not as a Prime Video or other third party add on. My only complaint is that occasionally, maybe one or two days every other month, all content when played is limited to the first one minute or so. This appears to be a bug and I’m sure this is being addressed. If someone at Apple or CS reads this, please address. Thank you!

   Literally just got this to watch the mr beast documentary. I go to search beyond the spotlight it brings up a three episode lot with Samuel L and Shaq and Kristen bell, that’s it. Still not sure how many episodes there are period but, onward. Going back to the main screen I see behind the spotlight Joe Namath front and center. I figure I can tap on it and it will bring up the series page and I go from there. Nothing whatsoever for a series page just tons of things to do with that episode and that one only, random suggestions at the bottom. Go to browse and the categories are not the best. Go for broke at this point is just searching mr beast. I find it, good times. Start playing it and turn my phone sideways and the screen goes away but still audio for the first 15 seconds turn phone back up and then sideways again and we are in there but now the controls are stuck on the screen. One more up tilt and horizontal and we are watching finally with no controls and just a full screen. Two minutes later I need to pause to check my oven, tap the screen, no controls come up. Two minutes prior I couldn’t get them to go away now I can’t bring them up to revert my screen or pause or anything. At which point I just side buttoned the screen off and finished my business with the oven. Now I’m here typing this up, apps clunky for 2021 and being a content based streaming service. Reminds me of Paramount+‘s performance on PS4. I’m sure there’s tons of good content here just best of luck finding some of it and clunking your way around

   I’m a documentary junkie ! This definitely scratches my itch for knowledge! A great value too ! This is like having PBS’s Nova, the Science Channel, Nat Geo and the Discovery channels rolled in to one, just a click away ! They say variety is the spice of life, this app is a full on spice cabinet! One feature I especially enjoy is how mainstream media usually just touches on an event, where this app goes in depth on the story. An example is the recent discovery of a black hole. A two minute cover on mainstream media After watching a story on CuriosityStream l now understand it better. The bonus is seeing the people behind its discovery. It’s like they are having a conversation with me in my living room ! Education with no test questions, just for pure educational knowledge! Kudos to the developers and those associated with the development of this amazing app! A sincere thank you to the men and women behind the development and production of this app !

4. 5/5Excellent content, good UI

   For documentary lovers this app has some cool content, I don’t care that I can probably find it elsewhere, I like that it’s all here in one place. The user experience used to be poor, but it’s consistently improved with every update and is really good now. I originally got the app because I like to fall asleep listening to documentaries, but for this purpose I ended up with a $5 monthly PBS subscription, they have the most soothing documentary voices to fall asleep to! (With Curiosity Stream it’s hit or miss finding something without loud parts that will wake you up, with PBS you’re guaranteed a good snooze!)

5. 4/5Please Add Profiles

   Please add multiple profiles. As of right now there’s only one profile so if you use with your family, it’s all shared on one page. Makes it difficult to continue watching what you were watching and your watchlist gets to be too much with more than 1 person. Also on the homepage of the app on the Apple TV, please make it so that it saves your place on the page. For example if you click on a show to find out more info about it, then when you click the back button to go back to the homepage, it jumps you to the top of the page. So you need to scroll back down the page and find where you were before. Very frustrating. But still has great content, would be nice if they added more shows on a more regular basis.
