  1. 5/5What Pinterest used to be

I absolutely love this platform. I became so upset with what Pinterest has turned into with AI slop and ads and all the comments, etc. When I would block the AI and block the ads, Pinterest would end up with holes in my feet where the AI and the ads would have been and then started running slow slower. With AI on the rise and more awareness about how we consume media, what I love is the simplicity of cosmos and how it's beautiful images with no comments underneath and you can scroll through things that inspire you and then it doesn't feel like you're being bombarded with "noise" that has been proven to not be good for our mental health, it instead becomes more of an ASMR experience again. and I think that's really key and really critical and really important. It truly becomes a sanctuary for inspiration. I promote this platform to everyone I know.

  2. 4/5Needs improvement

I like the aesthetics of the app, however it needs some improvement. First of all I don’t understand why the feed doesn’t update or reload fast enough most of the times I need to wait about 24 hours for my feed to update if I drag down the screen to force it to reload it just doesn’t. This makes me close the app as soon as I get bored with the current pictures and only go back like a day after. Next, if you click on one picture of the feed you can’t close it unless you press directly on the arrow button at the top left of the screen, which I understand. However, if we take pinterest as an example I’m able to use just one hand for all of my manipulations. In other words, I suggest you make the display of the chosen image so that it can be closed by quickly dragging it down, instead of looking for the arrow. Another thing is I don’t understand how can I promote my works and gain followers. Where am I supposed to post pictures so they appear for other users? Is my feed made of other’s content or is it the selection from the developers? Can my content possibly appear on the other’s feed? Can I promote my content? Will there be comments under pictures? Any connection to other users? Now it feels kinda lonely in the app. I get the idea of pure aesthetic, but it’s super clean and soulless as of right now. I would be really happy if you could respond with some answers for my questions. Best of luck in developing!

  3. 2/5I wouldn’t get it, lol.

So I saw an add on Instagram and thought why not compare this to Pinterest since that’s what everyone else is doing and supposedly it’s better? I was wrong. I downloaded the app and started by searching simple things. Like “NFL.” It came up with almost absolutely nothing related to that. I then searched up “Steelers.” Which is an NFL team. It came up with a few things, but nothing like Pinterest would’ve given me. Not to mention other things that were popping up that I wouldn’t want to see again. While I was searching things like the NFL, Top Gun (The movie) and even NASCAR, it kept giving me pictures of (Almost) completely naked women. Which is completely disgusting, never in my years of using Pinterest have I ever seen something like that, and I’d love to know how that’s okay? Yes, I know this app is rated 17+, but if you’re going to make an app that wants to grab the interest of people using Pinterest, make it family friendly at least. When you search something 9 times out of 10 it shows you things not even slightly related to your search and shows you a bunch of random pictures. The only thing that worked for me was when I typed in “Horror aesthetic.” So I believe this app is mainly for aesthetics and getting the certain color that you want. (As they’ve clearly demonstrated in all their adds.) All in all, I don’t see myself using this app much, and ARE NOT impressed.

  4. 5/5Surpasses Pinterest

As we all know and HATE, Pinterest is flooded with AI, ads and repeating images. One of my favorite features of that app was being able to make notes within boards and pins, and of course they removed that feature. Since then it’s never been the same for me and I felt stuck. I stumbled upon Cosmos through TikTok and was immediately interested. I downloaded and was so surprised at how CLEAN CUT it is. Not only do you get images that truly match your searches, but you can choose the color! It’s everything Pinterest could never be. I use Cosmos to collect images that inspire my novels. I have no complaints! It’s easy to use, free of ads and you have the ability choose whether you see AI pictures or explicit content. I’m so thankful for this app! You must give it a try!

  5. 4/5Close To Perfect

A wonderful cross between Tumblr & Pinterest. The content feels like it is a much higher quality than a lot of other sites. And it’s clearly artistically driven. If you have an itch for aesthetics, this will scratch it! I have very few gripes. However, the algorithm needs work. I’m really tired of seeing the same images over and over on my “For You” tab. I think it’s supposed to change the more you connect elements to clusters and upload images, but it doesn’t do a great job of that. My other issue is the search feature, I’d love to be able to sort by new. Only well connected elements get seen, which is bad for discoverability. Seeing the same posts over and over again makes me less likely to return to Cosmos regularly and doesn’t drive creativity. It kind of feels like a popularity contest, despite that being opposite of the point.
