  1. 3/5Needs an ipad version

This app is a good start. It replicates the website well. However, it is only optimized for small phone screens. Most guitarists I know use their QC with their iPads, so having an app that takes advantage of the larger screen area would be really nice.

  2. 1/5Cannot work without internet

This app is incapable of even starting up without an internet connection. So in order to control your hardware that cost anywhere between $700 to $2k, you need to have a random internet connection so neural dsp can push its own fledgling social network on you. And only then can you alter key things like amp/cab simulation type or overdrive gain level. This is inexcusable and absolutely insane. Recently I was playing at a festival in the middle of a wooded area. With 1000 plus people coming to a secluded location there was no 5G or LTE to speak of. I couldn’t change any of my sounds or even tune my guitar. Absolutely ridiculous. This aspect needs to get fixed immediately. I need to be able to control my hardware off grid or I’m going to return it and get the Tonex instead. That pedal doesn’t suffer from such an irrational issue. I don’t care about the new tone pack from Nickelback (yes this is popping up in the feed). I especially don’t care for it when I’m doing soundcheck on a festival stage. Without another means of controlling my hardware I need this app to work in order to shape my 4 hardware presets for the circumstance at hand. Neural DSP needs to fix this moronic issue right away. Whoever is the project manager at Neural DSP who decided the app must work with an active internet connection is an out of touch bonehead. Hopefully they get replaced by someone who knows the audience of the company rather than someone trying to forcefully push a fledgling social networking concept. Sure it’s cool to share guitar tones with people around the world. But it’s more important for a product to simply work. To whomever this isn’t an obvious fact, please stop working at Neural DSP and poisoning great products with silly visions.

  3. 4/5Great with Nano Cortex, but update broke something

Great app! Works really well with the Nano Cortex. But since the last update, whenever I switch to another app and come back, it says I need an internet connection (even though I have one). The message goes away on its own after like 15 seconds. This is causing a lot of friction during rehearsals.

  4. 2/5Capture Bug

You can create your own captures and use them on the device but the ability to upload them to the cloud or share them with others is broken at the moment. You can't even view the details of your own captures. You simply get a blank loading screen. This has been going on for weeks. Emailed support. They are aware that there is a bug in the app but could not tell me when they expect it to be fixed. Completely unacceptable to pay this much for a device and not be able to use one of its main features!

  5. 2/5Please make offline app for Nano Cortex

The app actually does work well, but to use the Nano Cortex to its real potential, you need this app. The app for the Nano Cortex should be its own separate app. This app can only be opened if you have an internet connection, so if you don’t have internet where you are, you don’t get to use the Nano Cortex to its real potential. This could be fixed if NeuralDSP would just make a separate app to control the Nano Cortex and make it available offline. Please do this NeuralDSP
