1. 5/5Truth about our government

   I can’t rely on Fox News because they are so far from reality they sound like a bunch of sideshow acts broadcasting purely to make us laugh. Every time I listen to them I think to myself what planet are they living on because they don’t deal with reality. CNN is reliable with their process of carving out the truth with their great line up of reporters like Anderson Cooper and Dana Banks. Reporting from Jake Tapper and so many new and dependable people that dig to get to the bottom of what’s going on in the world. What they report is scary especially right now with all the craziness going on in our government and nuts like Cruz, Trump and Hawley and the rest lie to the American people. I fear for the good people in our country. I fear the far right because they are working to take our democracy away. Biden doesn’t have the guts to tell the far right they aren’t doing what is needed for our country. I worry about Covid and how it has held the progress of our society from moving forward. CNN is the only news outlet I can listen to and know they are telling us how it is. I only wish they could tell us how to keep our country from going off the tracks when immoral people are trying to bury us with their lies and working 24/7 to fill their pockets after good people have fought hard shedding their blood to give us democracy. I want to keep it. So CNN how can we keep our country from being stolen by the filth in our government? Time is running out what can we do CNN?

   In 2016 I thought you were all clueless about the problems that trump posed. I think you are learning. Keep it up. And come down hard on the republicans until they become a party with propitious ideas again. When Biden stumbles give him a gentle kick. But remember we are now fighting to save the country and form of government that our founding fathers created. A strong hint would be to show the differences in how women and men think differently. The men gave us the war 1812, the civil war, destruction of Native American ideals without showing their outstanding answers about how to live in harmony. We need more specials on the horror of slavery, we need to remember that European Americans did not all come here as honest brilliant scholars, and point out Lin_Manuels brilliant musical and how many more Hispanics will bring brilliant prose, music, sports skills, literature and innumerable other talents that will send us moving forward again. Then there is science and how far along we have come in a year. When the scientists answer our questions have you noticed the notable number who answer our questions about the virus and vaccines with their foreign accents? I am an average American here who reads constantly to find the answers we all need. And for those of you who do not know, climate change, crispr and other more difficult problems are here now. How about giving them a mention. Finally why would people elect a president who tells his base to dump their masks and in doing so kills his supporters. Thank-you for reading my never ending verbiage. I think in paragraphs, not sentences. My last (really) thought centers around Ronald Reagan. He did help the people in Granada as he destroyed unions and expanded the gaps between the different segments of our country. Unless we can all grow none of us will. Thank-you. Kathryn

   Since President Trump has taken office CNN and other news sources have undermined everything he has tried to do. When past presidents have attempted the same things CNN posted favorable coverage. Has anyone thought about the country that our president represents and what he could accomplish if he had some support. An example of this: in the past leaders of North Korea have made all kinds of threats and violence to the US and other countries and when that occurred our presidents always tried to pacify them with talk and many times giving in to their demands or at least partially. None of that worked period. So now we have a new president with new ideas, one that was elected to run the country. And what happens does he get support, no just the opposite. Federal judges wanting to show off stop him cold , news media publish their BS polls that I think they get out of their butts. When he attempts to stop or scare Kim when Kim threatens us with nukes he reminds him that we also have nukes , but then what happens while Kim is shaking with the thought of losing his position in life: a bunch of elected officials and again the news media all quickly announce that president Trump doesn’t have the power to make a first strike or use our nuclear weapons. Wow way to go I’m sure Kim in North Korea was able to breathe normal again with that bit of good news. Wake up America if president Trump loses the country loses. United we stand and divided we fall. Old news, yes but we better wake up or we might just wake up to a whole new world, one that we may not like.

4. 1/5New app version is a mess

   This CNN app was much better prior to it’s major makeover that occurred a few months ago, which has too many disjunct sections mixed with unrelated sections of articles & underscored ads. -It’s hard to know which articles are news and which are ads disguised to be news. Also, lots of articles aren’t being removed daily, making it feel like we’re reading days old topics. Please switch back to the way CNN’s app used to be where readers could scroll down and know distinctly each section had related topics and were current. It was closer to scrolling down on Facebook with being able to see today’s headline stories. This new version is a mess. It’s confusing, frustrating and wants readers to weed through the massive amount of junk on the “Top News” page because it’s wants everything to be newsworthy. It’s makes the reader have to work to filter through garbage just to get one or two real current headline stories. Remove the advertisement stories posed as newsworthy headlines. Stop with postings of any and everything on that page in particular as it takes away from what’s really news and what’s just advertisements which has created a lack of credibility of what you’re feeding your audience. Please go back to the old app’s version where top news page was primarily today’s headline stories and the ads were more distinct so readers could clearly avoid clicking on them.

   CNN has some timely, serious reporting, But also a lot of inconsequential fluff. Limited real estate is often dedicated to multiple stories covering insignificant aspects of some event, often no more than a simple celebrity snafu. If something mildly weird happened somewhere in the world, it is sure to find his way to this app. And, while I am no Trump fan, I get the feeling that I am inside my own echo chamber while reading CNN, because as much as I appreciate reading Articles detailing our president’s incompetence, I suspect he and his administration must occasionally do something right – – but you would never know by reading CNN. The most annoying aspect of CNN is its use of videos. A video on CNN is no more than a vehicle for presenting the customer with an advertisement they would rather not see. Accordingly, CNN uses videos where a written report would do just as well, if not better. CNN also attaches videos to stories, leading you to believe the video somehow relates to the story in a material way, when in fact the video has only the most tangential relationship to the subject of the article. At other times, the video simply does not play! Often, what appears to be the opening scene or frame of the video, Which entices you to actually watch the video, disappears when you open the video and discover that the scene or frame that caused you to open it cannot be found within the video, which is often completely unrelated. All that said, some of CNN is content is timely and good. I just wish CNN were a more reliable source of substantive news and did not resort to click bait and similar chicanery to get you to watch advertisements you would rather not see.

   I have been a long time user of the CNN app until today. There are very few articles available to read without a subscription. I have since deleted the app & changed my review from several years ago from a 5 star to a 1 star. MS Now is not charging me to read any articles. That will now be my go to source for news. Good bye CNN.
