1. 5/5A challenge without the attitude.

   I have to admit, I gazed through the window at Club Pilates several times before finally scheduling an introductory session. For reference- I’ve tried a few boutique style clubs, and quite honestly- didn’t care for the stuffy, “South Charlotte” attitude. I was also not convinced I would get as intense a work out as I was used to getting with a personal trainer. I reached out to CP via IG and Jenny immediately got back to me with a class schedule, C19 protocol and other helpful instructions. I showed up to take the introductory class Saturday and was met with cheerful greetings by Jenny and Stacy. The other class members were also cheerful and the air was genuinely welcoming. Sarah, the instructor, walked the class through the history of Pilates and how the straps, clasps, bars and other pieces of equipment work. I was immediately “hooked”. I signed up and took my second and third classes Sunday and Monday. Both instructors, Stacey and Michelle, were as attentive to their class attendants- offering modifications- correcting posture- reminding us to breath, as Sarah was. The only complaint- and it’s not much of one- is the class schedule. I work 10-6 and would really appreciate a class before 8:00am or after 7:00 pm. Until then, I’m squeezing the 8:30 weekday and as many weekend classes in as often as I can. This is a fantastic club and I look forward to growing stronger and leaner here.

2. 5/5Like yoga, but better!

   Club Pilates popped up on my IG feed as an ad, and I always research off of the IG platform to find out is this real, was the special rate I saw available real, etc. I found a Pilates studio in my area and the deal was legit. It should be stayed up front any type of discount will apply after the initial charge for classes at full price though. This studio offers “Hero” discounts (military, nurses, teachers, firefighters and EMTs). I use Pilates for the days I am not doing strength training with weights and/or cardio. I have completed four classes and have loved it so far. The app is very easy and simple to use. The studio does not steal your money if you sign up for class and have to cancel. You can make the class up. Memberships are month to month so cancel at any time, but classes don’t roll over; so use what you pay for in that month. This is an excellent alternative to yoga. I personally get bored in downward dog position for 3-5 minutes. Pilates incorporates a tad bit of strength training combined with yoga type poses and moves. Much more entertaining for me. 3. 1/5Are you rating the app or the business? Both are awful!

   This is my first APP review. I would like to start off by saying 4.8 really? Then I read the reviews. Most of the highly rated reviews are about the actual club and not the app. I have yet to experience the club because I can’t get any classes. They are all booked up except the early morning ones. As far as the app goes? It is awful. It is most of the reason why you can’t get the classes. I am low on priority since I am only a 4 times per month member. I can’t sign up for classes until after the 1st day of the month, and by that time the classes for the first 2 weeks of the month are full. You should be able to sign up before that. So now I have to be on the waitlist for classes the first 2 weeks. I haven’t cleared the waitlist yet out of 3 attempts. Worst part of the app is if you are on a waitlist, it counts as one of your credits so you can only be booked/waitlisted for 4 classes. Then if your waitlist doesn’t clear, you are scrambling to get another class! But guess what? They are all booked! This app should not count waitlisted classes as one of your credits. This company really should be more about customer service. Additional note: they have an intro class scheduled for one hour every day. I suggest instead of being greedy to sign up more people who are paying you and can’t get classes, drop the intro class to once a week and use the other 4 class times to take care of the people who have already paid. Haven’t even been to a single class yet and ready to give up.

   This app is missing several key features for making this app helpful rather than another thing to remember. KEY POINT: This app is associated with expensive high end Pilates studio chain. The quality of the app should match the level of clientele you’re seeing to serve. HIGH. It does not. It’s more of a basic app. **WATCH FEATURES** 1) Check in button should be on watch and phone. 2) Alerts to say “class is starting NOW (or in 1 minute) click yes to have exercise log begin at 12pm.” I should not have to locate and open an app for a scheduled event to log my exercise. 2b) Class has ended (per the schedule) don’t forget to stop your exercise log. Should only alert if person has not stopped it themselves. Sometimes I remember in my car. 3) Once starting my exercise log in a scheduled class sometimes 30 min into a 50 min class it doesn’t automatically register my previous 30 min of participation. That’s silly. It’s scheduled, I can’t push the start button without being registered for a class, and I’d like credit in my exercise not for my memory. 4) Sometimes when I’m added late right before class my watch doesn’t know I’m going to class so I can’t log it. My phone knows but not my watch. Therefore a refresh schedule button would be extremely helpful for people attending in busy studios. **MAIN APP FEATURES** !!!Filters!!!! I want to be able to find all the classes taught by my favorite teacher. I’d like to be able to hide all level 2s & 1s It is not helpful to see a class I can’t take or is too easy. Day of the week or time filters would be helpful too. If I’m looking for class on Tuesday, morning, level 1.5 or less, I should be able to quickly see a list of those.

5. 5/5I love club Pilates

   Although it is a bit pricey when you compare to local gym memberships - for me it is a great fit Because I love the closeness of the studio to my house. I even like that I have to make appointments because it commits me to working out and spending this time for myself . I like how there are so many different instructors all with different styles so it never feels too repetitive. I can definitely feel that my strength has greatly improved over the last couple of years. It even really surprised my husband when I could help him move a very heavy iron door! My only negatives would be sometimes it’s hard to get into classes I want due to waitlists and also I would say 85% of the time I’m cold in class even tho I’m dressed in long layers. Rarely do I take my hoody or jacket off. What’s up with the ac so high and fan blowing ?
