1. 5/5A superb reader for chm & ePub ebooks

   CHMate Premium is the best chm e-book reader at App Store. It allows you not only to highlight but also to annotate a particular portion of texts that may interest you. Also, it allows you to import e-books from iCloud & Dropbox or Desktop web browser. Moreover, it allows you to organize your e-books based on collections. Although it is quite versatile, it is quite easy & smooth to use it. I highly recommend it. ############################## [last review] Better than ever! Now, it can read ePub e-books. ####################### [Old review] Several years ago, I suggested that the developers should have added highlighting & annotation ability in this app. Surprisingly, they did listen, and added these features in a short time. Ever since, I've been comfortable with using CHMate Premium! In a word, CHMate Premium is the best CHM e-book reader on the iOS platform. #################################### [very old review] This is a very nice e-book reader for e-books in chm format. However, it would be perfect if the developer could add new features such as highlighting & annotation in the very near future.

2. 5/5CHMate make iPhone to be a real eReader

   CHMate resolved my biggest problem when I using CHM reader on iPhone. I have tried servial chm readers these days, the biggest common problem for me is that "I cannot see the text very clearly". Although I can make the text more bigger, but at the same time "horizontal scoll bar" will jump out, so I HAVE TO flick the page right to left and left to right again and again... and sometimes I even don't know where I am reading when I get back to the "LEFT". When I open CHMate again it can remember the font, the size which I've set. The feeling is very good with using CHMate.

5. 3/5so many usability problems

   Chmate is an expensive chm file viewer. But its high price doesn't not amount to its quality. There are so many issues with the user interface that caused a great deal of inconvenience to the users: (1) the table of content is out of sync with the chapter that the reader is currently reading. Suppose I am reading section 3.2 of a book. When I click the table of content button, the table doesn't not show section 3.2; instead it shows the beginning of the book. It is difficult to navigate to the nearby sections, say section 3.5, since I have to scroll all the way to that section. (2) All figures have to fit inside the screen and there is no way to zoom in to see the small details. There is absolutely NO way to see the details of any large figures. (3) Most of the useful buttons are at the top-right corner of the screen, which is the most inconvenience locations for most users. The buttons should be at the button or top-left corner. I can go on to list a couple of problems. In short, this app is a piece of crap--I won't pay the programmer $10 for making so many design problems in such a simple program. -- Jan 11, 2011. The author fixed the table of content problem, added some zoom-in ability to the figures, and reduced the price. Therefore, I added two more stars to my review. But still, the figures cannot be zoom-in as much as I like, and the buttons are still at some inconvenient locations. If the author can fix these problems, I will give him a positive review.
