5/5Perfect timer
Very simple and effective. I use it to time all kinds of activities—zazen, naps, guitar practice. Love the color swirl on opening and absence of options. I’ve used another excellent timer for years, but got weary of the upsell to even more bells and sound scapes…and content that I don’t need or want. One change, if you would—stop warning me that 30 mins may drain my battery. Thank you 🙂

3/5It used to be more simple and delightful
Recently this app added a lot of features that I don’t care for but are impossible to avoid. It’s cluttered the app significantly. What actually upsets me the most however is that the chimes now sound terrible. It used to be that the sound of the three chimes at the end of the meditation were overlaid and allowed to resonate however with the recent update each chime prematurely stops the previous chime’s resonance which results in a very artificial sound and experience at the end of the meditation. I think I’ll just go find an app for reminders + sounds at this point.

4/5Almost perfect, worth a donation
This app is almost the perfect meditation app. It simply does the job without requiring an account, without data tracking, without any ads. There are a couple bugs/quirks, like the chime not playing when the phone is in silent mode, but that may just be a limitation with iOS development and is completely manageable. Be mindful of your phone’s state and the app works great!

2/5Doesn't work on silent mode
This app is EXACTLY what I wanted for meditating. No, subscription plans, no guided lessons, and no frills. Just a timer and a logger. The only major gripe I have is the app doesn't work on silent mode. The starting gong sound doesn't play in silent mode, and the ending gong never goes off. The app is only usable in ringer on mode with do no disturb turned off in order to hear the notification sound. If you have your phone automatically go to sleep after a few minutes of inactivity, your phone will go to sleep during the timer. When the timer goes off, you'll get a classic iOS notification sound rather than the gong. I usually put my phone on do not disturb or silent mode when Imeditate so I don't get distracted by notifications but this app doesn't let me do that. There is a "screen sleep" setting, but the app does not allow me to change it for some reason.

5/5Simple and Effective
I love the gong, much better than any of the annoying alarm sounds on my phone, and the ability to choose intervals is nice. Helpful in incentivizing daily practice, I like to see my total time and daily averages. Also the app links up with Apple Health to record your mindfulness minutes for another layer of integration. If you are looking for a simple meditation tracker and timer, this is great. So great it appears Chris Hemsworth ripped off the name and logo for his app. Weird. Anyway, I give it five bags of popcorn and five cups of soda. Great little app.

2.3
1. Timer completion, now front and center. On iOS 26, Center uses AlarmKit so your session's completion reliably reaches you, even when your phone is locked, silenced, or tucked in another room. See your timer in the Dynamic Island and as a Live Activity on the Lock Screen, so you can glance at progress without unlocking your device. 2. Reminders you can actually count on. Daily reminders have been rebuilt from the ground up. Scheduling is more accurate, stays in sync when you change times or toggle them off, and recovers gracefully after restarts, permission changes, or time zone shifts. 3. A calmer notification experience. Badges now clear when they should, permissions are requested only when you need them, and the Reminders screen is clearer about what's on, what's off, and why. 4. Under-the-hood polish. More reliable behavior when the app is backgrounded, cleaner transitions between timer states, and a long list of small fixes to make every session feel a little smoother. As always, thank you for meditating with Center.

2.3.1
· 31 May 2026
# Find any setting, fast. Settings now has search. Just type to jump straight to the option you're looking for. # More reliable across all your devices. - Reminders no longer lose your saved schedule when notifications are off, and now tell you if something goes wrong while scheduling. - Apple Watch sync is more dependable. Stuck sessions recover automatically, iCloud sync status is accurate, and there's a new manual Retry button. - Session timing on Watch is now precise, measuring from when your session actually begins (start delay excluded). - Timer completion chimes fire reliably, including for sessions you start in the foreground. - Chimes now properly hand audio back to your music and podcasts when a session ends. # A gentle way to support Center. Center is free and always will be. We've added an occasional, low-key reminder on your Overview that you can chip in if you'd like. It only appears once you've built a real practice, stays hidden if you've donated recently, and snoozes for three months whenever you dismiss it.
