1. 5/5Catawiki is my go to source for vintage watches

   Love the site. Mostly have had no issues buying vintage watches from Europe and having them delivered to the USA. I have had problems with about three watches out of the sixty I have bid on an won. So a pretty decent percentage are fine. In these cases it would not have been worth it for me to ship the damaged watch back and Catawiki support was not supportive of me the buyer. Still using the site so obviously the good outweighs the bad.

2. 1/5No assistance on my return case

   Ok let me be clear I use to love this app is an eBay copy.. they try to be like the ebay but unfortunately they are not… I buy a pair of shoes Louis Vuitton and they were in bad condition not as described and looks fake from far..I ask for a return..I send the shoes back to the seller I pay $70 extra to return the shoes back and at end the seller does not return my money.. Hi put my on black so I can communicate with him and When I call the customer support of this app from USA to France Paris I pay another $60 for the phone call directly to a customer support service… this is horrible someone just scammed my on there auction Licitaion and they don’t care they don’t offer support, You can not contact team if you do you have to pay is not free and at end they support the seller not use as buyers.. again this person sell my a pair of shoes Louis Vuitton $400+ and I pay another $70 to return back and the seller does not return my money and I have to pay another $60 to call the customer support and at end they don’t tell me nothing clearly or If I get my refunds back. Stay a way this is not a professional platform they really don’t pay attention on your request no customer support nothing.

3. 2/5Great buys to be had. Problematic app

   Catawiki has decided for some reason to disable the ability to contact one of their “experts” with questions about an item you wish to bid on. Why, I cannot imagine. They also delete your saved items after several days so if you have any hopes of keeping a list of items you like but didn’t/couldn’t buy, possibly to find again in the future, forget it. Unlike eBay they will not let you communicate with the seller to ask any questions. And once an auction is over, they hide much of the description and all but one of the photos of the item sold. I missed several items today I wanted to bid on, but despite having text alerts enabled, they never come through, so a €150 book sold for €3. I’m sure the seller is thrilled They are becoming increasingly opaque which is troubling and makes the buying process less fun and more frustrating. There is also no obvious way to contact Catawiki and when you eventually find it, expect several days for a reply.

4. 3/5Not the Best Option for North America

   Layout, functions, and overall design are all quite nice and easy to use. The problem for me is most auctions are overseas which means exorbitant shipping costs. Then there is the 9% auction fee paid by the buyer, not the seller, and topping it off most auctions I see have hidden reserves. Buyers do not like reserves. Either start with a price you can stomach or do no reserve. Professional EBAY sellers learned this 20 years ago. Having the option for pricing in my currency is also old hat for EBAY. I'm not fond of dropping out of the app every 15 minutes to load my currency converter. While it isn't entirely fair to compare directly to EBAY as it has had the luxury of growing into the beast it is today. What confuses me is why Catawiki didn't adopt the features that have made EBAY so successful. With all that said it is refreshing to not see all the garbage that is prevelant in the unpoliced EBAY wasteland. Still, I can't help but feel this should be much better and perhaps it will when more North American sellers start to populate it. Shipping costs cannot be helped but auction fees and hidden reserves can. As a buyer I will say there is absolutely NO reason for me to bother bidding until the reserve is met. How about we just start there? Truth is nothing gets people to overspend like a heated bidding war started with a no reserve auction. * I realize the hidden reserve is chosen by the seller and not Catawiki. My review is addressing the entire experience and not just the developer.

   All these auctions are manifestations of criminal organizations, people who buy here do not understand or do not know where to go and trust criminals, do not you realize that they are filling their pockets by selling you pieces of very low grades, I have looked at the pieces they sell and I have presented some and they do not respond because they themselves compare cheap and sell you cheap garbage, they do not know that they themselves are using you, look at the best place to sell and buy is called eBay, here they do not discriminate against you and it is a much safer place, but these places like HiBid, Heritage Auction, and stack roundabouts, are organizations that buy themselves on eBay what is cheap to sell it to you expensive and you fill their pockets, it is time for them to rent, say enough is enough!!!.
