1. 5/5Grandchildren out of the country

   Caribu is the answer to my prayers! My grandchildren live out of the country due to my son’s employment. My 4 yo granddaughter loves to chat online, but this genius app lets us read awesome books and play some really great games together. She even tries to read to me some of the easier books. With the 2 way video, we can expand the camera to a full page and she can show me what she did at school and new dances she learned. She is getting quite computer savvy because of this app which was an unexpected surprise. She can navigate all over the place and I didn’t teach her. I tried another similar app, but the books were lousy and we were limited to 20 minutes per month. It was also way more expensive. With Caribu, we can read several days a week and not fixate on the time. I am getting to watch her grow up and don’t feel so far away. Caribu is worth every dollar and I would pay more. I hope they keep adding new things for those of us who are super users! Many thanks to the developers for your creative app!!

2. 5/5Kids Love Caribu!

   Caribu helped build the relationship between my kids and their grandparents. My kids’ grandparents live in Virginia and would only get to “see” their grandkids once every few weeks when when set up FaceTime calls. I could tell that my kids were getting bored quickly and didn’t really want to have the same “How are you doing? How’s school?” conversation every time so we looked for a more fun way to make calls to grandma and grandpa. That is when we found Caribu. It completely changed the conversations my kids got to have with their grandparents! They started reading books together and talking about the adventures that Thomas the Train and Barbie were going on and what book they wanted to read next. My kids now want to call “Grammy and Poppy” multiple times a week. My parents love using Caribu and getting to read and play play games with their grandkids. They now get to see each other multiple times a week instead of just for holidays! Thank you Caribu for bridging the gap between generations!

3. 3/5great, but…

   Caribu is awesome, i got it for my little bro so that he didn’t get as board as quickly… and of course he loved it! He actually walked up to me after his first call and said, “Sissy, I love this app! It’s soo cool, right?” and obviously I said yes! But, there are some cons… first of all, the adds. I understand that you want money to help your lifestyle… but, what if some kid is trying to play games and they have a short attenion span, they are going to be going from game to book to coloring pad amd back to games. and there are going to be just about 100,000,000 adds. Plus, if they accidentally click on it then i’ll be going to some random site. And the other (and only other) thing is that just about half of the games are premium, my little brother has seen the sticker games or something and it just happens to be premium. Can you play please just at least try to dial down some of the premium games (including the sticker games). But other than those this is absolutely amazing. Period. I love it! So, please download this app because it will bring a lot of happiness to the user. Thanks you for reading!

   I love Caribu. My now 7 year old grandson and I have been enjoying this since the pandemic began and we couldn’t be together. He’s in northern CA and I’m in SoCal. We started with me reading to him and he turned the pages, but now he reads to me. We’re each looking at the same book on our own devices. We color the same pictures, he’s made cards for his mom and dad that I save on my device, then text them with it on their birthdays. I taught him how to play tic tac toe, and at the end of our sessions he tries his luck against Papa. When his family had Covid and he couldn’t go to school, he and I enjoyed our “Cave Time,” and read and played our games. I love this app so much that I purchased the unlimited minutes option because one hour was often just not enough. When my attorney daughter is working from home, I’m able to assist her in child care with Caribu. I can’t sing the praises loud enough about this app. It’s ideal for the long distant grandparent.

5. 5/5This last update was awful

   Not only did we update it but we had to then delete it and download and install it again. I could manage this but my son’s great grandmother had a world of a time trying to do this on her own with me on the phone. After 15 minutes of this, we were finally able to call except it dropped the video calls for no reason! Every 4-6 minutes or 2-3 minutes it would just crash. Whatever you did to fix some bugs you created a LOT more because I didn’t even notice bugs prior to being forced to update it. This is supposed to be easy for grandparents and children. Today it was just a headache. If you actually fix this I’ll change my review but this issue is absurd. Forcing people to uninstall and reinstall for an app to work after an update? No thanks.
