5/5Basic unpaid version
Well, there are a few things that you cannot do and the unpaid version the app is still worth having if you like to record information about your trip. I have used the Harley app for many years to record trips in the thing that I do not like is that it eats up the phone battery. This one does not seem to do that quite so much. I also like the fact that when you stop it the trip if you have that function enabled, which means it’s not recording ride time if you stop for lunch or to see sites and forget to pause the app.

4/5PRIVACY IS A BIG ISSUE
Overall I really enjoyed the features of this app, but I find the privacy aspect concerning. I would like there to be a new feature that allows users to choose whether they want their profile and rides to be public or private. Also maybe hide the details of the map when a stranger looks at the trip, details should be for followers/friends only. I don’t want people to know where I live and look at the photos I share just because I track my rides with the app. Please add this new feature ;( UPDATE: The development team reached out and clarified that the app already has feature that allow users to hide start and end points, max speed, or set the rides to be visible to followers only. I appreciate the team’s timely response, but I also wanted to say that it would be nice if there is a feature that allows users to set their entire profile to be visible to followers or the user themself. This way users won’t have to edit visibility every time they finish a ride. Anyways, +2 stars for the development team’s timely response, and I hope the team considers my proposal ;)

3/5has potential
aside from tracking my maintenance intervals, i don’t see much need to use this app over google maps. it’s cool that the app offers various degrees of curviness, but disappointing that i have to pay for that. a few really important changes that would make me use this app all the time and practically eschew google maps completely: 1) i noticed, one time i had entered a route, that some icons appeared at the top of my display showing the predicted rainfall during the course of my trip. it appeared to be an hourly forecast based on my projected location. this was very cool. and then it disappeared, and i haven’t been able to find it since. 2) dirt roads. if the app were able to provide not just various degrees of curviness but provide an option to favor (or avoid) gravel roads, fire trails, or rocky, washed-out routes, we would have a five-star hit on our hands amongst all traveling motorcyclists. this would appeal to any style of rider, as they could truly custom-tailor their route in advance. (note: owing to the ever-changing conditions of roads, especially unpaved ones, it would be necessary to do constant reconnaissance to keep information up-to-date; perhaps a rewards program could be put in place for intrepid riders who would care to update conditions data on seldom-used roads.) 3) the UI is still lacking, and confusing. the icons often only make sense after you click them, which adds an unnecessary learning curve to the app. if you enter a route and then exit out, there is no short-term memory for recent selections. you must go search the destination again. not a huge deal, but one of many small annoyances that could be addressed. overall, it seems cluttered, and while the abundance of options in the app is certainly a plus, some re-organization is necessary.

5/5Car Play please.
Honestly, this app has a ton of useful and fun features. Also, I feel like the navigation is more user friendly than other navigation apps such as Calimoto. So far I have not had navigation fail me or stop in the middle of a ride like other navigation apps such as Calimoto. My big issue is that I would like to use the map feature on CarPlay. Happily give this app five stars if that happens.

2/5It’s Ok…needs work
This app is very nicely put together, and I really like it as quite a bit of flaws, which caused me to end up having to go back to my other apps quite often. It’s simply won’t navigate through some roads for example Joshua tree national Park starting at west entrance. (This happens on a ton of roads fyi) Even if I put away point 10 feet it ends up saying it’s too far to navigate. Also, there’s no way to import a GPX file. I create a route on another app and export the GPX to do things like navigate through Joshua Park like I said above, but riser has no option to import a GPX file. This is a great start and we work for most rides. I would say, but if you’re trying to have one app To use for every ride, I don’t think this one is it quite yet.
