   We opened with Canvas earlier this year and the difference has been exceptional…the app is excellent; dare I say…superb🧐👌; we’ve been so impressed with Canvas that were actually considering shutting down and stopping our services with our other financial institutions; although this is easier said than done because we’ve been with our other financial institutions for more than 15 years. Dealing with the staff in person is actually enjoyable…15 + years of dealing with a “usually” high quality bank but watching the service deteriorate and suffer at different times due to various political problems, questionable situations, questionable staff, and general economic chaos has highlighted CCU as an oasis of customer service. This experience has surpassed all of our expectations. Staff are dedicated to the total quality experience and convenience for members; The app makes transferring and insuring your money easy and Canvas has all of the same convenience features of the big banks; e.g., direct payment processors, credit lines etc. (this has actually been an issue with other banks and CUs). Plus managing a mortgage with a credit union is a real benefit. The added accounts view without having to sign in is a real nice tweak. The only negative is the credit unions don’t engage in and financial instruments, like stocks, bonds, ETFs directly on behalf of members—they will refer members though; but I was a little disappointed when my agent reminded me that credit unions don’t handle investments—in general; credit unions are actually the investment itself. If you’re from Colorado you should at least keep this one in your back pocket or as a piggy bank even if you’re trying to be a big bank superstar.

2. 5/5Worst update ever.

   Supposedly they are changing the app name. But so far this newest update before that change- is the worst. It changed the way my accounts were organized and the font is huge so a person several feet away can see me check my account. I don’t like how it doesn’t show me my funds the same way- it’s confusing. I loved the older version- all this work they did to change is has frozen account for me and friends with canvas. And I also have issues transferring money back and forth because this update! Please return to the old platform- it was clearer- straightforward and easy. I don’t want nor need the big font. And it was way easier to navigate and identify.

3. 1/5Deceptive app behaviors

   This app moved money from both me and my partner’s account into an account that was negative causing us a financial hardship. Both of us are disabled. We can’t pay rent now and that will cost us the money that was negative and some. Thank you so much for putting us into a financial hardship! You’re doing gods work! Oh wonderful, they just did it again! Are we retaliating further because we dislike being held publicly accountable? What a petty game your bank is playing. Transactions post latent and don’t show pending, causing transaction misinformation with balance and what has and hasn’t been processed. The system that’s being used is really bad. Most banks post pending the moment it’s run through. Most CC processors are networked and aren’t processed manually so this argument is moot. Overall the experience with this bank and especially its app which feels vibe coded at best…I’m going to suggest taking your money elsewhere. After a recent experience where the bank refused to process a non approved charge. I definitely suggest not using this bank nor the app that reports poorly. Now I’m being charged overdraft fees while having a positive account balance? I’ve never experienced anything like this with a banking institution. This feels like I’m being retaliated against for leaving reviews over concerns about the poor app functionality. And now I’m being charged random holds for the same amount nearly every week for a “general hold” this only started happening after I experienced app devs or management retaliating against this concern.

4. 5/5Great in person and mobile!

   I’ve enjoyed being a part of the Canvas Credit Union family for a few years now— my local Canvas has employees that are helpful pleasant efficient; and the mobile / online applications are so easy to use — and reliable! I tested software for six years for a large corporation, both on mobile app and online.. The goal is to make it easier not more difficult. So few companies achieve that, Canvas has it down. Bonus! They have Zelle incorporated in their apps to easily transfer money; with no charges attached! Thanks CCU!

5. 3/5App keeps crashing/logging me out

   Everything has been really great with the app for a long time until recently. I opened it up and I was logged out. Couldn’t log back in with my face had to reset my password and get back into the app. Now, even after logging in with Face ID, Apple randomly log me out and send me back to the main login screen. it happened after I logged in to see transfers and as soon as I’m on the trans page, I just randomly logged out and I have to start all over again. it’s really annoying. Refresh the screen and see your updated balance. When I transfer money from my wife’s account to mine, in order to see the updated amounts. I have to exit out of the app completely reopen re-log in and then I can see it. It’s super annoying.
