  1. 5/5Best Self Harm Tracker

This app has been so helpful during my recovery. To start, this app is loaded with features. You can log your progress for the day, see how many days you’ve been self harm free, and even review a history of your journal entries. Not to mention it has the emergency call features, so you can call an emergency contact of your choice with just the click of a button. If that doesn’t work for you, you can type a message ahead of time saying that you need help to any of your contacts through the app. So, if you’re having a crisis, you can send a message without having to type anything. The analytics feature is a great way to show improvement and progress. To top it all off, you can send a copy of your journal entry history to a person like a therapist or someone that’s your support. Finally, there are ads, but they are mainly banner ads, and not pop ups. So they don’t disrupt your experience with the app. When there are pop-up ads, they are generally very short, and you can click out of them shortly after they pop up. Overall, if you need a self harm tracker with a simple layout that is jam packed with features for free, I highly recommend this app, and would easily share it with friends.

  2. 3/5Amazing app! But…

This app is amazing I loved resources and privacy the app provides. But I feel like the daily journal was very surface level and I didn’t feel able to example my deeper and more complicated emotions just with using the three, four? Things it had me fill out. I feel like there needs to be more there then surface level questions for example one of those being. How where you feeling today? Which is fine but the options they give you are like very basic emotions like happy! Or Depressed. I feel like it should be more detailed and maybe add a spot to talk about or write why you Felt that why or why you think you felt that way. Also with the what “where you worried about today” question is the same thing I feel like there should be spots under those questions (outside of the notes) to write why or why you think those things stressed you out. Outside of those few nick-picks about the daily journal this app is amazing! I love the days clean timer and the privacy that the password gives you. The resources that the app gives you to relive urges and stress I also love the daily pledge and the quote of the day. I just wish the app had more. Maybe add something like a days clean goal and maybe just add more to the journal. The ads are also a problem, I understand that’s how an app like this makes money even without the subscription but being in the middle of a mental break down trying to use there coming activities to break out of it, and then suddenly being hit with add while switching through them can be a bit jarring at times.

  3. 5/5I recommend so much.

This app has genuinely helped me so much. as someone who doesn’t always feel comfortable opening up to people or don’t always have someone to open up to, this app lets me get all my feelings out. and i really love how you can see and track your progress and ups and downs throughout the weeks. Also, the activities they provide for calming your urges really really do help and it’s a wide variety of things too. from popping bubble wrap, to journaling. And the fact that it’s an app helps a ton too. I’m always on my phone 24/7. Especially when i’m trying to distract myself from my feelings. So to be able to still sit/lay down, literally just type and be “lazy” but still help myself is amazing. I used to journal to get my feelings out but when your in the moment feeling sad, depressed, anxious, etc, you don’t feel like getting up and going to get your journal and writing. i love this app and as someone who’s struggled with depression in the past and still struggling with anxiety, calm urge has really helped me with not cutting and letting my feelings out in a healthy way.

  4. 5/5This app is the best one I've found for free

This app is the best free app in the Apple Store to help me stop self harming, since I've had the app I've been feeling significantly better and my mood has changed for the better and I'm not saying this app "cured" my depression but it definitely made it manageable and was endlessly helpful, I also looked through the reviews and wanted to make a comment on how attentive the Cal Urge Team is on fixing issues with the app and helping customers, many issues that they helped with weren't even with the app itself and were barely related to it such as subscription issues which were dealt through Apple and not the app and yet they helped anyways, if I could rate higher than five stars then I would, thank you Calm Urge for existing and making this blessing of an app

  5. 3/5Good app but. . .

I feel like if this is something that is meant to help people, it shouldn’t be as limited. To heal faster, it’s better to know how you have been feeling and if you are like me you would know..it really isn’t easy to track your emotions manually. Maybe even impossible. And what if the body of the person gets used to the ways they calm down? They will need something new. For me, I use all of them in a specific order. But if the user is under the age of 16 they do not have a job. They cannot get money unless it’s a gift or mow lawns but let’s be honest, someone who is dealing with all of this stuff that led to harming, they most likely wouldn’t have the energy to do so. Even if there is a free trial! Some kids alike to me don’t have the freedom to even use the free trial or to find another app their parent to approve of. At first I was going to use the app "I Am Sober" but there is groups so my mom would not allow me to and others who use this app may be in the same situation! Their mom/dad/guardian wouldn’t let them use another app so they found this. Much love, Karson the 12 year old 🖤✨
