5/5Like the pre-iOS 14 Apple Calendar ... but better!
With the recent iOS 14 update, the Apple calendar “went backwards” on the usability and user interface of the iPhone calendar that comes with the phone. So after I gave up trying to adapt to this new Apple calendar, I searched the App Store and found this gem of a calendar app. This app’s calendar has a very similar look and feel to the Apple calendar I’ve used for the past 5 years (until last week), with a clean interface that’s simple to use. The only thing I wish it had was a way to set up recurring events. But, again, I’m very pleased with this “beautifully simple” calendar app.

4/5Use it alongside the default calendar
I use this app because it has specific features I want, but it’s overall not great. Creating calendar events just isn’t as easy as the default calendar app, so I still create new events there. The day view doesn’t space things out based on their time, so I still use the default calendar for that. It also has a weird issue where events sometimes flicker on the screen. What this app does do well is have a month view where you can see all of your events and being able to view a day’s details in a small pop-up without needing to leave the month view. That’s what I like from it. I also like that it scrolls vertically instead of having horizontal month pages like a lot of other calendar apps. This app for me is specifically a month overview app that I use alongside the default calendar app, but is not fully-featured or refined enough to be a complete replacement.

2/5Ok..suggested improvements
I downloaded this app because I much prefer a calendar view where I can see the whole month at once. HOWEVER, there are a couple caveats that are driving me to find another option. The main issue is that everything I’ve added from previous months disappears. For example if I wrote in a doctor appt and want to go back a few months and check what date it was, the app has erased it. Please tell me if there is a way to keep this from happening!! Another issue is that I travelled overseas in a different time zone. While abroad for 3 weeks I added in many appointments for my entire family to be completed upon return. When I returned home, all of those appointment times were messed up, because the app somehow converted them to the time zone I was previously traveling in rather than saving them in the format I entered. These are annoyances that I would love solutions to, otherwise I’ll be looking for a different calendar.

4/5Good Basic Calendar - Wish it did a bit more
I use Pocket informant for my weekly planning, but it is too complicated and thus slow to load for the quick “what’s up today or this month”. So I’ve been looking for an app tp do this - OP.2 is good enough to do the job. I say good enough because it is missing a few things: Needs landscape mode / ipad version. Would be nice to incorporate reminders. While the display is good enough for the month view, I love the concept of tapping on a date in month view to bring up a list of all events for that day. Great built-in help documentation. Opens quickly and the interface is clean with large obvious buttons to do what you need to to. Robust repeat options. Just wish it had landscape....

3/5Room to improve
I love the default layout of this app. I love how it shows in text what you have for that day. Not just a dot like the iOS calendar. That was the biggest reason I downloaded it. I just wish two things. One, it showed the days date on the app icon. I know it does now, but it shows it as a notification badge. Anyone who likes a clean looking phone and not a bunch of notification badges every where will agree. Like today’s date is Dec 30th. It will show a 30 red notification badge. Number 2 issue is it doesn’t sync with my iOS mail. Yes it syncs with my iOS calendar which syncs with my iOS mail but the point of this app is to not use the iOS calendar anymore. If they fixed those two issues. It would be a perfect app in my opinion.

Rokuyo is now supported. Rokuyo is a six-day cycle from the traditional Japanese calendar (Sensho, Tomobiki, Senbu, Butsumetsu, Taian, Shakko), still widely used in Japan to mark auspicious and inauspicious days — Taian is regarded as the most fortunate and Butsumetsu the least. You can show it in the Month view, the List view, and the day detail. - Turn on "Show rokuyo (Japanese almanac)" in Settings. Month View and List View can be set independently. - Minor bug fixes and stability improvements. Thank you for using Calendar Op.2!

NEW: Choose your month title design — including the classic look By popular request, you can now choose the design of the month shown in the top-left corner. You can even restore the classic design from the earlier version (V1.9). Pick it in Settings → "Month title style", previewing each design exactly as it will look. This update also overhauls how Calendar Op.2 handles your privacy and advertising consent. The change comes as we resume distribution across EU countries: to comply with EU privacy rules (GDPR), your choices are now fully respected, and in applicable regions, nothing is collected until you decide. - Where consent applies (EEA & UK), you can review, change, or withdraw your consent for personalized ads anytime in Settings, under "Privacy Settings". - If you decline, no analytics data is collected and ads are shown non-personalized. - Added lunar calendar display (choose it under Settings → Almanac). - Calendar Op.2 is now available in Korean. - Plus minor bug fixes and stability improvements. Thank you for using Calendar Op.2!

NEW: Set a custom interval for your default alert The default alert that's automatically added to new events can now use any interval you like. In Settings, under Default alert, choose any number of minutes, hours, or days (before or after), including options the fixed list never offered, such as "90 minutes before" or "3 days before". Note: this applies to the default alert for new events. In the individual event editor, alerts still offer the standard options only. From the previous update (V2.2.0): You can now choose the design of the month shown in the top-left corner, and even restore the classic design from V1.9 and earlier. Pick it in Settings, under "Month title style", previewing each design as it will look. This update also overhauled how Calendar Op.2 handles your privacy and advertising consent, as we resumed distribution across EU countries. To comply with EU privacy rules (GDPR), in applicable regions nothing is collected until you decide. - Where consent applies (EEA and UK), you can review, change, or withdraw your consent for personalized ads anytime in Settings, under "Privacy Settings". - If you decline, no analytics data is collected and ads are shown non-personalized. - Added lunar calendar display (in Settings, under Almanac). - Calendar Op.2 is now available in Korean. - Plus minor bug fixes and stability improvements.
